Dr. Rachel Johnson, Dentist, a native of Baton Rouge, Louisiana and a huge LSU Tigers fan. Dr. Johnson completed her Doctor of Dental Medicine degree at the University of Mississippi Medical School in Jackson, Mississippi. She has been practicing here in Murfreesboro, Tennessee since 2006 and is an active volunteer with Interfaith Dental. She completed her implant training with Dr. Michael McCracken at the Alabama Implant Education center in Birmingham, Alabama. Dr. Johnson and her husband are busy raising three young and very active boys. In her 'spare' time, she enjoys all things outdoors and loves SEC football. Dr. Johnson is also a big fan of music and the arts.
Dr. Ashley Whetsell, Associate Dentist, is a native of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. She is a proud graduate of the West Virginia University School of Dentistry. Following graduation, Dr. Whetsell completed a rigorous, oral surgery based general practice residency in Morgantown, West Virginia. Furthermore, she was trained by the American Academy of Facial Esthetics to administer dermal fillers and Botox for facial esthetics and orofacial pain. Dr. Whetsell married her dental school colleague and sweetheart, Kevin, Memorial Day Weekend 2018. They have two yappy, rescued Yorkshire terriers, Abu and Raksha. Outside of dentistry, Dr. Whetsell enjoys traveling, being active outside with her family, listening to the live music Tennessee has to offer, and attempting to cook her mother-in-laws authentic Indian dishes. Dr. Whetsell is enthused to provide an exceptional patient experience with the ultimate goal to restore a comfortable, functional and beautiful smile for all the patients she treats in Murfreesboro.
Samantha, Office Manager, joined our team in April 2017. She has been in the dental field since 2009 after earning her dental assistants certificate at Tennessee Technology Center. She enjoys helping patients understand and maximize their insurance benefits. When away from work, Samantha enjoys spending time with her husband and their two children.
Ashley, insurance coordinator, is a southern California native that has embraced middle Tennessee as her home since 2008. She has worked front office in the dental field since 2014 and strives to make every experience a pleasant/positive one for all every day. She believes life is what you make it and feels it's best to always make the effort to choose happiness and unwavering kindness above all. The greatest loves in her life are her husband Robert, their two Chihuahua fur babies Loxley and Drogo, family and friends, traveling, all things Disney, horseback riding, and being at home watching movies.
Devon, Hygienist, is a native of Murfreesboro, Tennessee where she and her family currently reside. She graduated from Middle Tennessee State University in 2002 with a Bachelor of Science degree with a focus in Animal Science. She then received her degree from Tennessee State University in 2006 for AAS in Dental Hygiene. Devon is certified to administer nitrous oxide and local anesthesia. Devon's husband, Randall, works for the town of Smyrna. They have two boys, Parker and Reed. Devon has been working with Dr. Johnson since 2007.
Stefanie, Expanded Functions Dental Assistant, is an alumni of Middle TN State University with a Bachelor of Science degree. She received her associates degree in dental assisting from Daymar Institute and her expanded functions from The University of TN, Memphis. She is a native of Estill Springs TN, and currently resides in Rockvale TN with her husband and two children. She enjoys family time, being outdoors, running and playing golf.
Sarah, Hygienist, graduated from Indiana University Northwest with an Associates in Dental Hygiene June 2002. She has been working in a dental office since 1998. Sarah has been married since 2007 and has twin girls that were born in 2012. Sarah and her family relocated to Murfreesboro in 2018 from the southside of Chicago. When she is not working, Sarah enjoys being with her family, traveling and working out. Sarah has been with Dr. Johnson since 2018.
Kacey, Registered Dental Assistant, is from Sevierville Tennessee and has been living in Murfreesboro since 2007. She received her Associate of Science degree from Motlow State Community College and then went on to pursue a career in dental assisting at Tennessee College of Applied Technology. She is now certified in dental radiology, nitrous oxide monitoring, and coronal polishing. She has been very active in childrens ministry since the age of twelve. She loves taking her two dogs for walks at the Greenway and enjoys playing guitar in her spare time.

The best experience a person could ever have at the dentist. My appointment was quick and easy. My concerns were addressed promptly. I would definitely recommend Dr. Johnson's practice to anyone looking for a dentist.

Amazing staff...Rachel is wonderful...I have been a loyal customer at Dr. Johnson's office for over 10. I've never had a better dental experience and my healthy teeth are proof positive of their high skill and attention to detail. I very highly recommend Dr. Johnson's office.

All the people that work here are incredibly nice! I had a dental emergency 6 months ago and my regular dentist couldn't fit me in. Rachel was able to fit me in, no problem, and took care of my issue. Great people over there, she's now my regular dentist! You gotta go here!

I first met with Dr. Johnson in July 2019 for a consult. Her listening and concern for my treatment led me back to her almost 2 years later, after a lot of research and other opinions. In August 2021, we embarked on a project to replace all of my teeth with implant supported bridges. Not once, have I regretted my decision to work with Dr. Johnson. The journey has been long, but well worth the investment. Dr. Johnson's knowledge and skills are top-notch and her joyful personal manner makes the time in her chair almost enjoyable! Throughout this project, I've likely engaged with everyone on her staff and can honestly say that this team is a pleasure to work with. The whole team works cohesively and skillfully in a professional and joyous manner. Highly recommend Dr. Rachel Johnson & Associates!

Dr.Johnson and staff really has the small time feel. They know you by name and are very accommodating to your family needs. They focus on preventative care for my kiddos which saves me money down the road.

They have been my dentist for many years, hands down, absolutely the best! I do NOT Like the ultrasonic scaler, I'm guessing that's what it's called? Do away with it, put it in my chart, don't even bring it out while I'm there. I absolutely cannot stand the sound.

I ADORE Dr. J.. I have always had a fear of dentists but she has made every appointment amazing for me... Dr. Johnson's compassionate and creative approach to dentistry is the innovative solution I needed for the unique dental trainwreck (failed work from a previous dentist) that I presented her with. She has gone above and beyond, to make sure things were done right. I recommend going to her for ANY future toothy needs. She's the bomb diggity! Thank you Dr. J for being your awesome self!

Dr. Johnson was very personable and kind. Unlike other dentists I have seen before, she took the time to listen to my concerns, and explain what my best options would be and, most of all, why. I love her practice and will make them my lifetime dentist from now on.

Hands down one of the best dental practices I have used. The experience is always great. Sarah is probably my favorite hygienist, but all the other hygienist and doctors are also fantastic. If you're looking for a great dental practice, give this a try. You will be happy you did.

Today was my first cleaning. I suffer from extreme anxiety at the dentist. I was nervous to say the least. Devon, Stephanie, and Rachel were the very best. I will be going to this dentist from now on. They were all very nice and helped me to feel very comfortable, well as comfortable as you can be AT THE DENTIST. Thank you all for your outstanding work and attention to detail. I am actually looking forward to my appointment next week!! WHO CAN SAY THAT ABOUT GOING TO THE DENTIST!!!

The place is very clean, they are timely in calling you back, and the staff is friendly.Dr. Johnson does not pressure you about getting work done. I've been going to her for over ten years. Would definitely recommend her to others, in fact I already have!
