I had a tooth extracted today here and we were greeted with a kind face, went back to a sweet lady Shannon and then to a wonderful dentist Dr Iven.. very good staff today. The only thing I felt wasn't to my standards was the cleaning of the facility. I hope they can salve that because it made me feel uncomfortable. But as I say the staff were over the top awesome people. Thank you for your helping me with a pained tooth on Saturday

Denied me of service and tried to charge me 196 dollar for X-rays, oral evaluation, etc when I didn't even get a room. This needs to be fixed immediately. The place smelled bad and there were like six receptionists that didn't do anything , I came in early to get paperwork done to be in on time and the receptionists made me late, couldn't figure out insurance, even tho I gave it to them was still active, highly incompetent and this bill needs to be taken off. THIS PLACE WILL CHARGE YOU FOR SERVICES THAT DID NOT HAPPEN.

Every time I come to get a cleaning, I never have to wait long to be serviced. The nurses and dentist are very kind and they always make me feel comfortable. They do an excellent job on my teeth, even now with me having braces. I absolutely love this place. I recommend to everyone, young and old.

They are one of the few dentists open on Saturday for those who work during the week. The wait time all depends really on when you get there even if you have an appointment, but that's anywhere

I was very disappointed with my experience. It took two months to finish the entire process of what I needed to have done. I was very excited and was looking forward to my last visit to have my teeth bleached. They charged me almost $2,000 for the entire process including bleaching and then when they finished bleaching my teeth, it looked like nothing had changed and there was no difference at all. I was very upset after I left so I went back inside to show them and they said to give it a couple of days. After a week had passed, I called and they made an excuse saying that the person that did the bleaching was not there and that they would tell them to call me the next day. It has been several days and I still haven't received a call. I will never go there again and will never recommend them to anybody.

I was in for a cleaning; and I must say that it was the most gentle cleaning I have ever had. Estrella did a great job, and I've already asked for her again for my next cleaning. I highly recommend this practice.

I am definitely afraid of the Dentist but today I faced my fears. I went to Family Care in Hoover and they were super nice and patience with me. I was nervous about my dental plan but Estrella was really nice and kind. She explained everything in details and I felt comfortable. Alicia also was great and she just was so nice and understanding. Dr. Abena will take care of you. She was supportive because she could tell I have not been at a dentist for awhile. Overall, I think now I know what to expect and want be as nervous because this office really put their clients first . I did not knew what dental office to go but I made the correct choice with Family Care Dental

I came to them as a new patient in excruciating pain. The staff got me in as fast as possible and worked hard to make my visit swift and as pain free as possible. I appreciate what they did for me.

Last Friday, I scheduled an appointment for the following day, as a new patient. I had a very badly broken tooth that was hurting and cutting my tongue. I had sent them a picture of my insurance card before business hours were up and as soon as I was able after they asked for it, considering I had 2 sick children that I was trying to get to the doctor during the time they asked for it. I filled out my paperwork and sent it in as well. I did not hear anything else from them before I walked in for my appointment. When I arrive, they inform me that they couldn't get my insurance breakdowns because the company was closed. I speak to the lady at the front desk and try to explain to her how it is hurting me. As I am saying that I am unsure what the price would be without insurance, but I may be able to pay it until my insurance gets figure out, she pretty much continues ignoring me and then looks around me and calls someone else to the desk. I still need this tooth taken out, but that was just so rude and terrible customer service. I don't feel like they deserve to make money off of me now

It's been almost 10 yrs since I've seen a dentist bc of my PTSD but I broke a tooth while pregnant and decided to have it pulled. I just randomly walked in for an emergency tooth extraction and was able to be seen the same day. Dr. Ivan and his staff are very friendly and attentive and the office atmosphere is relaxed, calm, and casual, yet professional. I appreciate that he listened to my concerns and was attentive to my needs during my follow up visits. I also like the fair pricing since I don't have dental insurance and paid cash! Overall, this Hoover location exceeded my expectations and I'll be using Dr. Ivan for all my family's dental needs.

I went here a few weeks ago for intense dental pain that I couldn't quite pinpoint the location of past the side it was on. I had to pay out of pocket since I have no insurance. I felt like I had an infection and possible absess forming but after looking at ONLY 2 of my back lower teeth the dentist (Dr. Ivan) decided I had no infection and didn't need antibiotics. They sent me home with a treatment plan to come back and get some work done that MIGHT help the pain. In the next couple days my face continued to swell more and the pain was getting worse so I went to a different dental practice and they looked at all my teeth and found out I did have an abcess and will need antibiotics & a root canal on a tooth that was not even looked at my initial appointment 2 days earlier at Family Care Dental. If Dr. Ivan had looked at more than just 2 of my teeth on the side I said hurt then I could have possibly gotten antibiotics sooner and not had to suffer so much pain & swelling. Also I want to say the dental assistants were all very nice, but the practice seems too busy to really give you any quality care. If you don't have insurance I suggest looking into Aspen Dental they are much more helpful.

Dr. Carl was very rude and impatient. He made me feel as if I had been assaulted. I have had bad experiences with dentist in the past and I have never had an extraction awake. I was a bit nervous I got "open your mouth "and does that hurt when I told him it hurt and a needle in my mouth with no warning. At one point he had his elbow in my chest when he was extracting my tooth. He had the nerve to say thanks afterwards. He rushed out of the room he did not ask if I understood what he explained in terms of post care. I asked if my tooth was infected his response "no, it will be". He didn't write for antibiotics and he sent me home with a prescription for ibuprofen. My point no small children should see him or anyone who has had bad experiences in the past. If you like it rough Carl is the dentist for you. They offered me dirty glasses to wear during the procedure. When I informed the assistant I got,"yes they are". It makes me question their hygienic practices. No, I didn't wear the glasses. You asked and so this is my opinion.

Been coming here for the past couple years now for routine dental work, the staff are always friendly and helpful and they always go out of their way to explain something to me or WHY they recommend something. I never feel like i am being rushed or insulted when i dont know something and have to ask. I am going to keep going here for as long as possible!

I came to the Hoover location 4/4/22 I am in severe pain and was told I needed a root canal and I had several cavities. The Staff was very nice, I was given a choice of having the root canal that day . However, I couldn't afford it as I don't have dental insurance. I was given an antibiotic and sent home , I told the doctor I had been taking large amounts of Tylenol and ibuprofen and could not control the pain. The doctor told me to try the antibiotic and if it didn't help to call back and they would try to help me with something else when I called back still in severe pain I was told they couldn't help me. I don't think I will be going back.
