Dr. Charney is a graduate of the State University of New York at Stony Brook and the University of Maryland Dental School, Baltimore Maryland. He attended a General Practice Residency program at St. Francis Hospital in Hartford, Connecticut. He has been in private practice for over 30 years, initially in the Westville area and then in Hamden. He is a member of the American Dental Association, the Academy of General Dentistry, the Connecticut State Dental Association, and the Academy of Sports Dentistry.
Dr. Fratarcangeli received his undergraduate degree from Clark University, Worcester, Massachusetts and his dental degree from the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. During his 3 year service as a dentist in the U.S. Navy, he completed a General Practice Residency at Portsmouth Naval Medical Center, Portsmouth, Virginia. He has been in private practice for over 20 years, first in the Trumbull area for several years and then as a partner in Hamden. He is a member of the American Dental Association, Academy of General Dentistry, the Connecticut State Dental Association, and the Academy of Sports Dentistry.

Oh great service. Staff is friendly. Me and my son went there and Lisa did a good job all times. Also, I like how my mom works here.

So after way too long of an avoidance of my dentist, Dr Howard Charney, and his office l went back today and found everything better than ever. With a complete analysis, not revealing any of their findings, l have 2 follow up appointments. Let me say my appointment was kept to the minute from x-rays to gum depth everything was performed with great care, precise, and informative. Thanks Rob Baptie

For at least 18 years I have relied on Family and Esthetic Dentistry of Hamden to take care of my dental health. Not only is the staff friendly and efficient, but Dr. Charney is a master at figuring out how to resolve complex dental issues and leave me with good-looking teeth.

My wife and I have gone to Dr. Charney and all of the great technicians here for several years, and we agree that this is the ideal dental practice. The office staff are always friendly and helpful, the technicians are also friendly and very competent, and Dr. Charney is great. He is an extraordinarily skilled dentist -- and he always friendly, funny and down to earth. He is careful, gentle, and personally attentive. Appointments are always on time, and they make the whole process smooth and effective. There is a good feeling in the office from the moment you walk in, while you are being treated, and as you are leaving. We have referred several friends.

Tremendous office. Dr. Charney, Dr. Frat, dental technicians and office staff are friendly, professional, and genuinely care about the patients that walk into their office. Never a wait time, and they always call back if we have a question! Going to the dentist is almost a pleasure!

I am new to the practice and was totally impressed by the professionalism and positive attitude of Dr. Charney and the members of the staff I met. I even appreciated that the office was decorated for the holidays. It presented a very pleasant atmosphere. Yesterday (12/20/18), I had two crowns made. The whole process took 2 1/2 hours, and I walked out with the entire procedure done during that appointment. I'm still totally impressed with the practice and the ability of Dr. Charney and the staff. I feel lucky to have found them.

The office was kind enough to get after an old filling had come out what appeared to be very superficial ended up being a complete fracture within the tooth which explained the pain. I was immediately placed in with the provider who was available who extracted the tooth remarkably fast with no pain. The office staff never fails to amaze me on how professional compassionate and helpful to resolve any issues that arise. 6 stars as usual!!!!!

They are clean, knowledgeable, trustworthy, and always available. Their schedule is right on. I can't say enough praises for their practice.
