Digital X-rays offer a huge advantage in early detection and preventive services. Advanced image manipulation and analysis, for example, allows your doctor to detect early stages of gum disease through recognition of bone level changes, or by evaluating the results against a previous treatment.
An intraoral camera is an indispensable diagnostic and educational tool. The tiny video camera moves around inside of your mouth and generates a tooth by tooth video exam of your teeth. Using an intraoral camera allows patients to better understand their dental needs by seeing what the dentist sees and then having it explained.
Lasers are a non-surgical approach to arresting the progression of periodontal disease. Following scaling and root planing, a laser is used to significantly reduce the bacterial colonies and decontaminate the infected periodontal pocket. Lasers also remove the infected tissue lining the periodontal pocket. As the infected tissue is removed, microscopic blood clots form and your body's natural healing response takes over. As you heal, the tissue reattaches to the bone and your gums return to a healthy infection-free state.

My second visit to Falls Church Modern Dentistry went incredibly smoothly. Dr. Koo is extremely knowledgeable and took the time to explain what she noticed on my scans in considerable detail. She advised me on a plan to keep my gums healthy, and I opted to have scaling and root planing procedure in addition to a regular cleaning. The office is incredibly clean, and they use the most modern tech that I've seen in any dentist's office! I had previously scheduled an exam and cleaning appointment for the week before, but due to a timing issue, I wasn't seen by the doctor (as I had only allotted 2 hours for the appointment). At the time I was disappointed, but I'm so glad I re-scheduled. I briefly spoke with Dr. Jung at my second appointment, and he apologized and assured me that his team had taken steps to make sure that a mix up like that doesn't happen again. I really appreciate his level of care in responding to my issue. Their pricing is perhaps the best in the area. Between that, the excellent tech and the extraordinarily knowledgeable staff, I am so glad to now have a go-to dentist in Falls Church!

Great experience with the dental team (wisdom teeth extraction, gum graft and regular cleanings); very professional, knowledgeable and attentive staff. However, on 2 occasions the front desk staff failed to properly schedule and confirm/cancel appointments. The first time was a few months ago when a periodontist appointment was rescheduled without confirmation from my part, and I ended up having to cancel due to a prior commitment. The second time was on September 12, 2022, when I was scheduled for a routine cleaning and I found out the appointment had been canceled -without notifying me- when I got to the practice. Hopefully, this mismanagement issue won't repeat itself, since it greatly affects the patient's experience.

I'm always reading bad reviews first before I go somewhere, especially the dentist's office. One-star reviews it's truly what to expect from a visit. - pushing extra treatments. On my first visit, I overheard the dentist recommending two different people have deep cleanings. Of course, it's an extra charge. -painful x-ray Be ready they will insert huge different "holders" with sensors which you have to bite even though you barely open your mouth wide enough to place them inside. It was painful, hurt my whole mouth, it was bleeding after and I almost literally threw up a couple of times because it was placed too far inside. -Expensive Ok, even though I have a cavity, my teeth are in healthy condition and I have not heard another dentist say otherwise. Except here of course. We all know that a dentist's visit is always expensive. In the end, I get an estimate for everything that should be fixed +plus deep cleaning of course, and the price was over $ 2K. -front desk girl, the blonde one was really pushy, she didn't treat me the same way once I said I'm not gonna do deep cleaning. I work in customer service and I know what I'm talking about. Regular cleaning was good overall thanks for that.

This place promotes unnecessary surgery with full anesthesia for the benefit of the surgeon. Please ask another dentist for their opinion before doing anything here other than cleaning. The employees or doctors working there seem pushy like some people stated above. They will exaggerate to rip you off.

Well... nothing short of the word professional as a Dentist, kind as a friend & a gentleman when it comes to ethics with his employees ... that's Dr. Jung @ Modern Dentistry Falls Church. They also organized a day, where they give back to society catering to clients at No Charge. This includes some expensive procedures like Root canal & Capping of new teeth... not to mention a whole bunch of other treatments. I wish them all the Best & a Big THANK U! This place is amazing! I've been to several dentists in the area over the past several years, and the doctors and staff here are by far the nicest and most personable. I've always felt welcomed and not judged for the work I need done, and I've had no issues with any procedures/aftercare. If you're looking for a dentist, please give this place a try, they've completely changed how I feel about getting dental work done.

I have gotten a tooth extracted, a crown, and my wisdom teeth out from here. Everyone is very friendly and they explain everything they are doing as they are working on you. They were all pain free too(but also I have a pretty high pain tolerance) although other dentist I have felt pain. This is the best staff I have ever worked with from the front desk to the dentist and oral surgeon. They are very thorough with x-raying and all of their work. I would definitely recommend this place to everyone. I have never had such an amazing experience!

Dr. Jung did a spectacular job repairing a tooth that I had broken off. I was a completely new patient to this practice and they were able to get me in and get my tooth fixed quickly. I really couldn't be happier with my experience. Dr. Jung was really easy to talk to and great about explaining my repair options until we found the right one for me. I am very happy to have found this practice and will certainly be using them for my dental care.

Dr. Koo was fantastic. She replaced a crown during my visit (they create the crown in house while you wait). She was thorough in her explanations and responsive to my concerns about pain. The entire process was painless and Dr. Koo was great about communicating what was happening. I highly recommend Dr. Koo.

Beware of this dentistry attempting to upswell you at any point in your visit and months following. I was almost charged an extra $200 for "premium cleaning water", which apparently is a disinfectant water used during the cleaning process in which they charge you by quadrant of your mouth (4 quadrants). Another thing: I still have my wisdom teeth, which are not causing me any pain or health issues and do not need to come out. This dentistry pushed really hard to convince me to see a specialist, which I denied on the spot multiple times during my visit. I then received a random call months later telling me that they had an open appointment that week and encouraged me to come get my wisdom teeth removed. I denied them once again and told them to stop asking me, and asked if they could remove me from their system and cancel any future appointments. They continued to call me 2 more times after I told them to remove me from their system. The receptionist was very rude when I told her ONCE AGAIN to remove me from their system and stop calling me. Just avoid this place if you can...

BE AWARE of anything procedure they suggest!! I only went to this dental place once because I had a terrible DMO plan, and only low-tier dentists (in this case, there was only one dentist in this office and it was not Dr Jung) accepted DMO. Don't know how this office got so many 5-star reviews (maybe some of the are fake accounts??). They tried to upsell me and pressured me (but failed) to do major services like crown in the same day of I do teeth cleaning.....And they also pressured me (successfully) to do deep cleaning which cost extra money while none of my past dentists and dentists after them have suggested deep cleaning. I was being hesitant about the deep cleaning. Then the DMO dentist said I will have to sign a waiver if I don't do the deep cleaning to protect her license. And the front desk girl also said " do you really want to sacrifice your health for $66" ....yea that's the tricks they use to get you to do unecessary procedures. And none of the dentists I went to afterwards think I need any of the filling or crown they suggested in the treatment plan. Nor was the amount they said I would have owed if I did the suggested procedures are correct amount ( I checked each all the CPT codes one by one with my insurance company later). Hope that my experience can be helpful for you to make the right decision.

A few years ago, I came there to check it out and scheduled an appointment for dental cleaning. My teeth has never been cleaned so thorough before. A few days later I had an emergency. I immediately got an appointment and he completely restored my tooth in one session. Dr. Jae-Woo Jung is and excellent dentist.
