Dr. Hurst graduated Cum Laude from Allegheny College where she majored in Biology with a minor in French Literature and conversation. Initiated into the prestigious Phi Beta Kappa society before graduation, Dr. Hurst spent 6 months studying French Literature and Art History at University Catholique de lOuest in Angers, France. Deciding to become a dentist at the age of 12, Dr. Hurst also attended University of Pittsburgh where she was awarded the prestigious Deans Ball Scholarship. While in dental school, she was recognized by the American Association on Women Dentists for her leadership skills, and with a national pathology award. With a special interest in cosmetic dentistry, oral surgery, endodontics, and pediatrics, she completed residency training at University of Rochester/Strong Memorial Hospital. Dr. Hurst is very involved in the community and enjoys long distance running in her spare time.
Karine graduated with Honors from Yerevan State Institute of Foreign Languages named for I.V. Bruysov, Armenia, with majors in English and Spanish as foreign languages. She has a Masters Degree in teaching. Karine worked as an interpreter for international delegates and as a secretary in the National Academy of Sciences where she fluently spoke four languages. After moving to the USA in 2004, she started a new career, graduating from Great Lakes Institute of Technology as a Certified DA. Willing to expand her knowledge in the dental field and having a great interest in cosmetic dentistry, Karine continued her education at Eastern Gateway College in Steubenville, OH, for the Expanded Function Dental Assistant (EFDA) license.

I want to thank the Dr.and her staff for the wonderful service they gave me when I fell walking my dog and knocked out my front tooth from my bridge.Not only did she get me in the next day for an emergency visit, she did a beautiful job.Her staff is friendly and very experienced with this type of cosmetic work.I love my new smile and would recommend her very highly.Thank you again. I cannot say enough about this practice!!! Every staff person there from the front desk to the dentist are amazing! I have always had difficulty with my dental needs and terrible anxiety about seeing the dentist, but I actually look forward to my visits! Thank you for all you've done for my dental health Dr Hurst!

All I can say is wow! I had to get a root canal today and I've never had one done before. Dr Hurst is amazing. She is so thorough, nice and makes sure you're comfortable the entire time. The dental assistants are just as amazing! I am so impressed!! What a great office! You guys rock!

Absolutely love Fairview Family Dental. Their entire staff is passionate and completely amazing! Dr Hurst is a superwoman of her trade, I would highly recommend them, my experience all around has been spectacular. They figured out how to make a dentist office professional but not intimidating. Dr Hurst is fantastic. I took my 8 year old in for her 1st filling. She was terrified. Dr Hurst took the time to work at the pace my daughter was comfortable with. The best part was she never knew that she got 2 injections. I would strongly recommend her to anyone. Jennifer Bosta

Dr Hurst and her staff at Fairview Family Dental are amazing at what they do! I get really anxious at the prospect of dental work but Dr Hurst and her team are patient and knowledgeable with taking the time to explain processes and moving at a pace that helps you remain comfortable. Front desk staff are knowledgeable and polite as well and make scheduling a breeze. Highly recommended from a nervous dental patient! (I've had cleanings, temp fillings, fillings, and crowns done here)

This practice is the place to go if you have dental anxiety. Dr. Hurst is smart, gentle, and patient with me through all my worrying and complaining. Plus she's always happy and smiling, and the whole staff is just wonderful. Best value in town.

Dr. Hurst and her staff are simply fantastic! I was so nervous about my first appointment but they were professional in every way from Dr. Hurst with her kind demeanor and her easy way of calming my nerves and explaining things, to her assistants who were exceptionally kind and gentle. Before I left, I knew exactly what the cost of my fillings would be and the office was exceptionally clean (which means a lot during COVID). I am so incredibly glad I found them.
