San Francisco sedation dentist Frank Grimaldi received his bachelors degree in Biology from San Jose State University in 1976, graduating Tau Delta Phi scholastic honor society and deans list commendations from the School of Science. He received his D.D.S. degree from the University of California, San Francisco, graduating with a class rank of 1st in class and receiving a regents scholarship Dr. Grimaldi received the Omicron Kappa Epsilon dental honor society award as well as the Alpha Omega award for scholastic excellence. He completed residency training in hospital dentistry at the University of California, San Francisco in 1982 with a specific focus on painless dentistry for medically compromised developmentally disabled or phobic patients. Dr. Grimaldi joined the University of California, San Francisco faculty in 1983 as the Director of the General Practice Residency in hospital dentistry, serving in that capacity until 2009. From 1987 to 2009 he served as the Director of Hospital Dentistry, offering painless dental treatment in an operating room setting. Dr. Grimaldi is currently a Clinical Professor in the Department of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery, School of Dentistry at the University of California, San Francisco.
Dr. Grimaldi is a member of the Omicron Kappa Epsilon National Honorary Dental Society, the Academy of General Dentistry, the American Association of Hospital Dentists, the California Society of Medicine and Surgery and the Academy of Dentistry for Persons with Disabilities. Dr. Grimaldi is certified in Advanced Cardiac Life Support, holds state of California conscious sedation permit #2 and is qualified medical evaluator #9577 for the state of California. He has been recently inducted into the American College of Dentists.
Dr. Lara graduated from UCSF School of Dentistry as a Fleming Scholar, a prestigious award for outstanding academic performance and community involvement. Dr. Lara continued to serve the dental community, by practicing as a public health doctor at the Native American Health center of San Francisco and Oakland. Dr. Lara was a clinical researcher for UCSF, and helped establish the protocol for (CAMBRA) Caries Risk Assessment. This is a form that a dental practice can use to help manage and treat patients that are at high risk for decay.
Dr Lara community outreach is highlighted by her being featured in the 'First 5 California' educational video series featuring her daughter. The series goal was to teach parents how to take care of their childrens ' dental health during the first five years. She also was instrumental in establishing a pediatric department in an under represented community where the need was greatest. Her international outreach includes participation in a cleft lip and palate surgery team of dentists and doctors in Wenzhou, China and Ghana, Africa.
'We wanted to give patients a private practice experience, which we accomplished by educating the parents and focusing on prevention over intervention. I told the parents that my success was knowing that their kids never had to experience having a cavity'. - Dr. Lara.
While primarily a Dental Assistant, Evita manages the critical position in our practice of keeping our work flow moving, managing cases and patients, and holds the title of Clinic/Treatment Coordinator. The reason our office flows so smoothly is due to Evita's hard work behind the scenes.
She also is an Invisalign consultant and oversees all Invisalign cases including frequent patient communication regarding their treatment. She particularly assists new patients, and is very compassionate with patients with high phobia or anxiety.
Martha is a San Francisco Native, born and raised in the city. Growing up she knew she is a communicative person, very bright and open personality. Thus, she pursue a career in Dental Receptionist position with a great success.
She holds the titles of the dental receptionist, front desk manager and treatment Coordinator. In addition, she is the Insurance Specialist of our clinic and always assists the patients to take advantage of all their benefits that their insurance covers.
Brenda grew up in the bay area and her initial calling was in baking. Later dentistry appeared in her life and she then decided her career. Very successfully, Brenda's' hand skills are exceptional in addition to her loving and caring personality.
Brenda as a Registered Dental Assistant is focusing in patient care, assistance to the doctor and office managing.Brenda has multiple certifications such as restorative composites application, orthodontic assistant certification. In addition, Brenda speaks fluently- English and Spanish.

Dr. Lara is knowledgeable but her facility is pretty dirty, sorry...The location is cute & was looking forward to coming in for a visit but it took a turn after observing the place & using the restroom. There were gauze & gloves on the floor, dust everywhere, the machines were clearly not wiped off. I didn't feel safe- to be frank.

I had my wisdom teeth taken out here and it was done very professionally and they accommodated the fact that I was very very uncomfortable with needles and just being at a dentist office in general. They were very friendly and made me feel very safe with them operating on me. The Dr. and especially the Hygienist were exceptional. I will be returning for all my further dental needs in the future!

Best Dr.'s and staff I have found in many years for medical treatments. Dr. Lara keeps you very informed on the procedures and there progression. The staff treat you like your family. Every time I need work the office is spotless calming music playing in the back ground. I wish all my office visits to other professions were as friendly and professional as Lara and Grimaldi. I highly recommend them to all my friends and business acquaintances.

Dr Laura Fabiola is the best dentist I've ever had in my entire life her cutting edge knowledge brought about from her husband who is a teacher at UCSF School of dentistry brings her Superior skills over other dentists. Her Superior knowledge of how to anesthetize you for work is unmatched with the delicious flavors of bubblegum cherry or strawberry liquid anesthetic in your cheek and not in your gums gets the job done in one shot. I love Lara she's a sweetheart She is well trained and continues to receive training from a UCSF general dentistry teacher her husband seven Stars out of five. *******

Highly unorganized and unethical practice. They charged me employee $730 for a cleaning. When I called them to pay in lieu of my employee, they promised to refund my employee (returning the payment to his card) if I gave them my credit card. After charging my credit card another $730, they did not refund my employee. When we called in, they said that my employee would have to go into the office to get a refund. After he showed up, they said that there would actually be no refund because he paid for half of the treatment and that I paid for the second half, thus they have now taken $1460 for a basic cleaning. I understand the economic climate is tough but I have no doubt in my mind that this is a simple scam fronting as a dental practice. On top of changing the price of their services, ex-post changing of the service that was given (most likely based on fake invoices), reneging on their promise to refund my employee, miscommunicating and wasting our time, and forcing my employee to travel back and forth, the employees oat the front desk also laughed at us over the phone. I will be taking further action to ensure that this doctor is investigated for medical malpractice and improper billing practices.

Amazing staff and service! In and out if you have an appointment. Very affordable ortho plans. Dr Lara answered all of my questions and explained every procedure before we do it and gave me options when I needed other ways. Thank you! Definitely my new dentist in SF.
