Thats why we go out of our way to give our Palos Park clients the very best possible service, and to make them feel at ease right from the start.
My undergraduate studies were completed at Illinois Benedictine College (now Benedictine University), and I continued my education, earning my Doctor of Dental Surgery degree at the University of Illinois College of Dentistry. I have been practicing in the Palos Park area since 2001 and specialize in Invisalign and cosmetic dentistry. Currently, I maintain membership in the following organizations: the American Dental Association, Chicago Dental Society, and Illinois State Dental Society.
Illinois has always been home; my wife, Rena, and I currently reside in Tinley Park, IL. We have been blessed with two wonderful sons, Tyler and Dylan, and enjoy spending time with them whenever we can. I also keep busy by being a member of the Board of Directors for the Andrew High School Booster Club.
I enjoy interacting with my patients and getting to know each of them and their family. I strive to give my patients the smile of their dreams, and I look forward to meeting you and your family and giving you the smile you have always wanted.
I came to the dental health industry after working in respite care through my parish in Mt. Greenwood. Working chairside as a dental assistant before returning to college to, I obtained my business degree in finance. A perpetual student, never meeting a hard course I didnt like. When not at the office, I enjoy foreign films, reading, home improvements and fiber arts.
Originally from the Chicago area, I currently reside in Tinley Park with my husband, Mike. We have two sons, Tyler and Dylan. My non-work activities include spending time with family and friends, walking, working out at the gym, and volunteering. I am, also the president of Victor J. Andrew Athletic Booster Club which is a non-profit organization aimed at funding sport programs.
As a dental hygienist working at this office, I passionately care for my patients by helping them achieve ultimate oral health. I achieve this by helping my patients identify their dental problems, then educate, motivate, and assist them to find solutions to those issues. Along with therapeutic teeth cleaning in the office, I provide and present individual home care solutions, introducing products to help the patients achieve their personal oral health goals. This is done through individualized education plans. Excellent patient service, quality care, integrity and teamwork have been my work ethic throughout my career, which is a great fit with the office philosophy of Dr. Sheehan.
Gitana is the smiling face chairside, assisting Dr. Sheehan. She works diligently to provide safe and comfortable dental care. She has over 10 years experience as a dental assistant, graduating from the Dental Institute in 2005.
She makes sure that each dental operator is disinfectant after each patient, and that all instruments are sterilized after each use. She and her family came from Lithuania in 2002. She has inspired her two daughters to follow her into the dental field (one as a hygienist, the other in undergrad studies). She speaks three languages, English, Russian, and Lithuanian. She loves traveling with her family. Her favorite taste of home is Cepelinai (potato-meat dumplings) and Kugelis.
I earned my dental hygiene degree in 2005. Since then I have worked predominantly with patients in dental offices, but I also worked as an educator of dental hygiene students and as a dental hygiene consultant. I am so proud to join the team here at the dental office of Dr. Sheehan where I am among like-minded caregivers who value whole patient care and stress the importance of dental health as a vital component of overall systemic health. Its not just educating patients that matters, but working together with patients to achieve their goals and aspirations for healthy smiles, bodies, and lifestyles.

I made an appointment to get a crown on a root canal performaned at another clinic. I had to change dentist since I recently moved out farther away from the city. My new Primary Dentist was a little skeptical putting the crown since the tooth is small and so far back from my mouth. He gave me a referral, but they were booked for the next two months. I was starting to feel pain in my gums since food kept on getting stuck and I had to floss it our on a daily basis. After calling multiple offices that were in-network with my insurance, I found Dr. Sheehan Dental. They were happy to take me in as a new patient at a more accommodable time. Office is clean, staff is nice and informative. Dr. Sheehan did an amazing job and guided me throughout the whole procedure. Whole procedure was almost painless, and before I knew it he was done. I'm glad they were able to take me in at a short notice. But I'm mostly glad Dr. Sheehan was able to help me out when my previous dentist wasn't able to provide the care I needed.

It had been about 5 or 6 years since visiting a dentist and Dr. Mike did an amazing job. He has years of experience and a very gentle hand. It was quick and painless. I couldn't be happier and will definitely be referring my family and friends. Everyone was nice and very professional. 10 out of 10 for sure!!!!

Great family owned dentistry practice that is definitely worth while if you're in search of a new dentist. I have been coming to Dr. Sheehan since my teeth came in and before he moved to Palos from Mt Greenwood. The farther away we move from each other (currently a 45 min drive) I still can't bring myself to go to anyone else after experiencing a lifetime of top notch dentistry. Most recently Dr. Laura has been handling my cleanings, and she is so nice, gentle, as well as extremely passionate and knowledgeable about her work. While Dr. Sheehan typically focuses on the more complicated patients, he still makes time to pickup right where we left off during his final check. My parents still come to Dr. Sheehan as well and recently saw Dr. Maura and they couldn't have had better things to say. No matter who you end up with here you'll be well taken care of!

Overall great service! Dr. Sheehan is very good at what he does and gentle! He's had to administer local anesthesia and I barely felt a pinch. The hygienist's always do a great job at explaining what they're doing and why! They also provide you with cleaning tips for any troubled areas. The front desk receptionist, Dorothy is also very nice and and helpful when booking appointments, making payments, or discussing fees. My toddler also had his first cleaning here! The hygienist took her time and explained to him what she was going to do and made sure he felt comfortable. The whole process was smooth and he was all smiles at the end.
