Our team of expert emergency dentists headed by Dr. John Han provides complete assistance in all emergency cases, and are highly adept at handling issues such as a knocked out tooth, toothache, cracked tooth, broken jaw bone etc.
Dr. John Han was born and raised in Richmond, Virginia and earned his undergraduate degree from the College of William and Mary in 1997. He then spent four years at Tufts University School of Dental Medicine where he received his Doctor of Medicine in Dentistry.
Dr. Han spent the next 13 years practicing dentistry in northern Virginia and the D.C. metro area. During this period, he started a practice in Reston, VA focused on quality, personalized care. Sharing time and compassion with his patients has always been a vital part of his philosophy, and he brings those values to his practice today as a distinguished Midlothian dentist.
During his years in D.C., Dr. Han joined several study clubs with leading specialists in the region. While hes attended numerous courses, like the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry annual conference, he discovered the immeasurable value of mentorships early in his career. Hours of focused time with the professions best clinicians elevated his skills to the level his patients deserve.
As a leading Midlothian dentist, Dr. Han is committed to the latest technologies in dentistry, and he never hesitates to bring innovations into his practice that serve patients best. He also values helping those in need, both locally and internationally, and has participated in dental mission trips to Honduras and Paraguay.
When hes not in the office, he loves spending time with his wife and three kids and their close-knit, extended family. Dr. Han enjoys fishing, the outdoors, and a role as a part-time rock climbing instructor. He also looks for every opportunity to spend productive time with youth in our community.
White and White was established in 2004 by Drs Scott White and Pranee White. In 2017, with plans of retirement, they entrusted their practice to the care of Dr John Han. Now, as Dr. Pranee White has embarked on her much-deserved retirement, Dr Han has renamed the practice to J. Han Dental Design to reflect his goal of excellent dentistry. While the name has changed, Dr. Hans commitment to providing exceptional, and compassionate care has not. He continues to develop the best methods to provide a dental experience that is set apart, gentle, and comprehensive while remaining pain free. We will always strive to work with and educate our patients about their dental options so that they can make the best decisions about their dental care and feel comfortable with Dr. Han as their Midlothian dentist.
Born and raised in Maryland, Dr. Ho earned a B.A. in Biochemistry from Virginia Tech in 1984, graduating magna cum laude. In 1988 he received his Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree from Georgetown University, graduating cum laude.
For nearly 30 years, Dr. Ho ran a successful dental practice in McLean, Virginia. Since his retirement from private practice ownership, Dr. Ho has continued to stay engaged in dentistry by working part time, volunteering at a local charity dental clinic, teaching, mentoring, and doing international missions work.
Throughout his career, Dr. Ho has invested in continuing education to stay current with the new advances in dental technology and to provide the best care possible for his patients, including those in orthodontics, dental implants, cosmetic and restorative dentistry, endodontics, periodontics, TMJ treatment, and dental CAD/CAM CEREC technology. Dr. Ho is a graduate of a two year orthodontic program through the International Association of Orthodontists, and is one of less than 400 dentists to have completed the extensive curriculum of Orognathic Bioesthetics International (OBI).
Every year Dr. Ho volunteers his time to provide care to those in need through various missions. These include the Northern Virginia Dental Societys Mission of Mercy, The American Dental Associations Give Kids a Smile Day, The Kentucky Mountain Mission, the World Gospel Outreach in Tegucigalpa, Honduras, El Ayudante in Comayagua, Honduras, Gloria El Padre in Chihuahua, Mexico, the T Bob Davis Mission in Guatemala, and the Helping Hands Clinic in Treasure Beach, Jamaica.
In his free time, Dr. Ho enjoys making music, and can be seen playing sax, flute, and electric bass in various local churches including McLean Bible Church and HTC. The doctor also enjoys exercising, traveling, and spending time with his family, especially his two grandkids!!
Maryam Ashraghi DDS, is a dentist with 17 years experience in all aspects of dentistry, expert and trainer in cosmetic dentistry. Dr. Ashraghis mission is to provide patients with the same dental care as she would for her family. She aims at addressing patients main concerns and tailoring the treatment plan based on each individuals need. After graduating from dental school in 2003, Dr. Ashraghi also completed 3 years of specialty in Restorative and Cosmetic Dentistry and dental material under full academic scholarship as well as 2 years residency in Advanced Education in General Dentistry at university of Rochester, NY. Dr. Ashraghi has lived in Boston, Rochester, Richmond Before she chose to move to Northern Virginia. When she is not doing Dentistry, she spends time with her Teenage daughter and their dog. Dr. Maryam enjoys drawing, the outdoors, working out and cooking.

Three times they promised to get my dental aligners to me, and all three times I have been lied to or snubbed with no remark. If I had to do this process again, I would not do so, and would recommend others to not do so here. UPDATE: Shortly after this, Dr. Han did go out of his way to deliver the aligners personally, so I did update my rating, but the situation should not have happened. They are trying to make things right, but they do let things snowball out of control.

I needed a tooth pulled, I was max level pain couldn't sleep or eat and was just miserable, it was Labor Day and I called a bunch of dentist office and left voicemails but this office text me and got me an appointment for 8:30 for the next day and I never had a place contact me and for sure on a holiday so I thank them a ton for that because we got it removed and asap All the people in the office were amazing and showed a lot of care so I unfortunately live 1hr 30 away but this is by far the best dentist I've seen. Wish I was closer to make it permanently my dentist. But 10/10 would recommend and highly suggest you go here

Dr. Denh saw my husband at an emergency appointment on a holiday weekend. He went in with terrible pain and within an hour she had rectified the situation, which included pulling a tooth, stitches and a treatment plan, and sent us on our way with a prescription in hand. We were very impressed with their efficiency and thankful for the practice's willingness to take after-hours emergency appointments.

Best dental office in Reston, Northern Virginia! Haven't been to ye debris in a while and I came in for an emergency because my tooth crack, they took me in , Dr. Ashraghi and the assistant Linh help took care of the problem, came back for the cleaning with Ella and she's extremely thorough . Definitely a place to come for your dental care. Great job Expressions Dental Care Teams!

My daughter came there yesterday and today for dental work. She was very annoyed with the professionalism at your facility. Then you man had the nerve to call her out her name and nickname her a "Porch". That's going over the line! What can I say for this kind of unprofessionalism to a young lady or any lady. I do not recommend anyone using this dentist! You can send an email back to me if you like to discuss, but you had her in tears!

I had an absolutely miserable experience with Dr. Ashraghi. I had perfectly straight teeth and never needed braces. After paying $1000 for 2 crowns last November, my entire bite shifted, and I have not been able to REST my mouth comfortably for literally MONTHS, which has led to extreme anxiety, panic attacks, and sleep loss. This has been absolutely catastrophic and extremely traumatic to my mental health. When I voiced these concerns to her in January, she was dismissive and told me it wasn't a problem. I am STILL unable to rest comfortably without my front teeth touching. I need to have Invisalign clear aligners to fix this issue, but it's still not comfortable after 5 months of treatment, and I'll need to wear aligners for many more months to fix this issue. I've filed a complaint about this to the Virginia board of dentistry. Do NOT trust these dentists and always get a second opinion before getting crowns. edit: I'm not interested in hearing from you, and I'm not deleting this review.

Typically, I do not write reviews but based on the experience I had it's necessary. To begin I actually relied on reviews before choosing to visit this office. I saw great things but my experience was nothing short of horrible. I hope this review lets people know what they're really in for by visiting this office. If I could give negative stars I would!! I had a scheduled appointment for a cleaning but when I got there they did x-rays which took over an hour in itself between them doing the actually X-ray and explaining them to me. Following this I never even received the service the appointment was for, a cleaning. They told me I had to come back later in the day to get what I actually requested, however this did not work for my schedule. They offered to make me another appointment that was a month out! Which, if I made an appointment why did I need to come back a month later to get what I was actually scheduled for? After going back and forth which them for what seemed like forever, they finally decided that they had an opening for me the next day. I was already feeling uneasy about coming back here because they were pressuring me about getting a bunch of work done that I adamantly said I was not interested in doing right now. Fast forward to the next day, I am greeted with comical satire from them about my name and it's meaning. I felt so degraded and uncomfortable because as a young Black woman I take a lot of pride in my name. This was completely unprofessional and rude. Then, while I am getting my teeth cleaned, I'm being told completely different things than I was told the day before. Suddenly in a mere 24 hrs, I need 4 new procedures done to my teeth that were different from the day before! I was told I need to get braces, must get my wisdom teeth pulled, and 3 extra services; all of which were not disclosed to me the day before! I have never heard that I need these services from my prior dentist whom I visited regularly before trying this office. Overall, I will NEVER return to this dentist office again. I hope this deters other hopeful clients from visiting this office. This was a nightmare of a visit and if you do decide to go to this office I hope you have a better experience.

Excellent experience with Maryam Ashraghi and the Expressions team! After going in for a cleaning I was impressed by the professionalism and care of each member of the staff. The office is clean and state-of-the-art. Maryam herself took the time to discuss and show me problem areas with my teeth and her recommendations. She was very gentle with the filings I needed and did an amazing job on some small chips I had on prominent teeth. Her work on those chips looked so good I booked another appointment a few days later to address some other small chips on prominent teeth and couldn't be happier with the results. I would highly recommend this dental practice and Maryam specifically to anyone in Reston or NOVA. 10/10!

Loved the experience here. After searching around for a few dentists I walked in to this location for general questions and everything felt right immediately. The staff is super friendly and accommodate your individual needs. I saw Maryam Ashraghi and she did a phenomenal job on the root canal procedure. All co workers/assistants were tremendous, the "bedside manner" throughout the treatment was always comforting and made you feel at home. Thorough exams, treatment options and the cleanliness was perfect. Definitely a new practice to see for the future. Thank you all very much!

I was a new patient and it was my first visit to a dentist since the pandemic began for routine care and cleaning. I was very impressed and I'll be returning on a regular basis. They did a very good job and it was neither painful or stressful.They were also professional, gentle, and very good in explaining care and options for dental work. The front office staff is very accommodating, Overall, very friendly and professional office.
