Dr. John Han was born and raised in Richmond, Virginia and earned his undergraduate degree from the College of William and Mary in 1997. He then spent four years at Tufts University School of Dental Medicine where he received his Doctor of Medicine in Dentistry.
Dr. Han spent the next 13 years practicing dentistry in northern Virginia and the D.C. metro area. During this period, he started a practice in Reston, VA focused on quality, personalized care. Sharing time and compassion with his patients has always been a vital part of his philosophy, and he brings those values to his practice today as a distinguished Midlothian dentist.
During his years in D.C., Dr. Han joined several study clubs with leading specialists in the region. While hes attended numerous courses, like the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry annual conference, he discovered the immeasurable value of mentorships early in his career. Hours of focused time with the professions best clinicians elevated his skills to the level his patients deserve.
As a leading Midlothian dentist, Dr. Han is committed to the latest technologies in dentistry, and he never hesitates to bring innovations into his practice that serve patients best. He also values helping those in need, both locally and internationally, and has participated in dental mission trips to Honduras and Paraguay.
When hes not in the office, he loves spending time with his wife and three kids and their close-knit, extended family. Dr. Han enjoys fishing, the outdoors, and a role as a part-time rock climbing instructor. He also looks for every opportunity to spend productive time with youth in our community.
White and White was established in 2004 by Drs Scott White and Pranee White. In 2017, with plans of retirement, they entrusted their practice to the care of Dr John Han. Now, as Dr. Pranee White has embarked on her much-deserved retirement, Dr Han has renamed the practice to J. Han Dental Design to reflect his goal of excellent dentistry. While the name has changed, Dr. Hans commitment to providing exceptional, and compassionate care has not. He continues to develop the best methods to provide a dental experience that is set apart, gentle, and comprehensive while remaining pain free. We will always strive to work with and educate our patients about their dental options so that they can make the best decisions about their dental care and feel comfortable with Dr. Han as their Midlothian dentist.
Born and raised in Maryland, Dr. Ho earned a B.A. in Biochemistry from Virginia Tech in 1984, graduating magna cum laude. In 1988 he received his Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree from Georgetown University, graduating cum laude.
For nearly 30 years, Dr. Ho ran a successful dental practice in McLean, Virginia. Since his retirement from private practice ownership, Dr. Ho has continued to stay engaged in dentistry by working part time, volunteering at a local charity dental clinic, teaching, mentoring, and doing international missions work.
Throughout his career, Dr. Ho has invested in continuing education to stay current with the new advances in dental technology and to provide the best care possible for his patients, including those in orthodontics, dental implants, cosmetic and restorative dentistry, endodontics, periodontics, TMJ treatment, and dental CAD/CAM CEREC technology. Dr. Ho is a graduate of a two year orthodontic program through the International Association of Orthodontists, and is one of less than 400 dentists to have completed the extensive curriculum of Orognathic Bioesthetics International (OBI).
Every year Dr. Ho volunteers his time to provide care to those in need through various missions. These include the Northern Virginia Dental Societys Mission of Mercy, The American Dental Associations Give Kids a Smile Day, The Kentucky Mountain Mission, the World Gospel Outreach in Tegucigalpa, Honduras, El Ayudante in Comayagua, Honduras, Gloria El Padre in Chihuahua, Mexico, the T Bob Davis Mission in Guatemala, and the Helping Hands Clinic in Treasure Beach, Jamaica.
In his free time, Dr. Ho enjoys making music, and can be seen playing sax, flute, and electric bass in various local churches including McLean Bible Church and HTC. The doctor also enjoys exercising, traveling, and spending time with his family, especially his two grandkids!!
Maryam Ashraghi DDS, is a dentist with 17 years experience in all aspects of dentistry, expert and trainer in cosmetic dentistry. Dr. Ashraghis mission is to provide patients with the same dental care as she would for her family. She aims at addressing patients main concerns and tailoring the treatment plan based on each individuals need. After graduating from dental school in 2003, Dr. Ashraghi also completed 3 years of specialty in Restorative and Cosmetic Dentistry and dental material under full academic scholarship as well as 2 years residency in Advanced Education in General Dentistry at university of Rochester, NY. Dr. Ashraghi has lived in Boston, Rochester, Richmond Before she chose to move to Northern Virginia. When she is not doing Dentistry, she spends time with her Teenage daughter and their dog. Dr. Maryam enjoys drawing, the outdoors, working out and cooking.
