I had to attend this dental office since my previous workplace's dental insurance was accepted here. I was usually up sold optional treatments with strong recommendations to take them. At my last dental visit, one of the dentists said one of my fillings was old and required a crown instead of a filling replacement. However, I changed back to better dental insurance and switched dentists. My current dentist looked at my current X-rays and said my fillings were fine and no work was required. I think it depends on who you get here, but it seems like there's several floater dentists with different interests. I would be careful and always ask for a quote, and if you have a dentist who tells you you don't need work, then continue to see them since they will probably be more honest about their assessment.

They went ahead with a procedure that wasn't covered under my insurance even though they could've checked whether the procedure was covered. They also claimed I needed to get fillings replaced and a cavity filled in, but they never followed up with me (it's been 2 months since). Instead, I checked in with another dentist, and they said I didn't need to have anything done.

I just paid over $200 for a single filling replacement--and this is with dental insurance. $215 to replace one old filling, and let me be clear: this was the cheaper of two options. The dentist originally tried to talk me into spending over a thousand dollars (with insurance!) on a more complex procedure, and, when I said I'd rather stick to a regular old replacement filling, told me that traditional fillings only last an average of 3-5 years, which, upon further research, doesn't appear to be even slightly true. When I mentioned that my original filling had lasted for over a decade, the dentist switched tactics and tried to convince me to pay thousands more dollars for unnecessary cosmetic procedures, and even tried to lead me into setting up a consultation (which itself would have cost $160). The office was very persistent about this and sent me texts and emails about it days after the initial checkup. I'm not an ice hockey player, nor do I smoke; as far as I can tell, my teeth are average and in pretty good health. I'm writing this review for two reasons: 1) any medical practice that tries to lie and scare patients into spending ridiculous amounts of money is creepy at best and exploitative at worst, and 2) I was originally quoted almost $80 less, but then was told after the procedure that the amount I had already paid was only an estimate and that I had to pay a "small fee" of $78 more. I didn't even leave the dentist's chair--the billing department immediately came into the exam room to collect the money, and seemed offended when I said that price seemed very steep for such small procedure. This was happening in the midst of multiple patients in the office asking incredulously about sudden, previously unannounced, wildly high fees. I know that a lot of these reviews seem positive, but many patients have been asked to review Expert Dental in-office and then rewarded with Starbucks gift cards (happened to me!), which feels ethically suspect, to say the least. In short: one of the most predatory, scammy practices in the whole city. Find a better place! Save yourself!

Lovely and personable staff (good sense of humor too), quick wait time, smooth appointment. Also got a good flossing tip I hadn't heard before (adding toothpaste to the floss)! Highly recommend Theresa as your hygienist if you go.

This place will vastly overcharge you for any procedure (I paid around $900 for 4 fillings WITH insurance and yes they are in-network) and will also do a terrible job. Had to go back twice to have the fillings fixed in a span of 3 months. The fillings were done 6 months ago and one has already chipped, and they refused to see me unless I paid their "emergency visit fee" ($37 for the visit and for x-rays, which I just had done in February when I originally had the fillings done). I would rather have my new dentist re-do the filling entirely than give this place another dime. AVOID at all costs.

I was asking to go there several times with different doctors and charge me every time even though I already told them my issue the first time and second time, they keep charge you money for diffrent things with different doctors, very expensive and you need to wait a very long time, they always recommend out of network doctor and most expensive service, very bad dental service I had ever.

I first started coming to Expert Dental because it was close to my office, but the experience has been so great that I continue to come despite no longer working nearby! The staff and doctor's are friendly and helpful, and the wait times are short. Thank you, Expert Dental!
