At EPIC, every patient is treated as an individual. Our practice may run smoothly like a well-oiled corporate machine, but we never forget that its the individual patient who makes us what we are. Without our valued patients, we would not exist. With that in mind, our mission is to help each patient achieve their smile goals and desired quality of life by providing an implant solution.

We do that with a winning combination of personal attention to detail and advanced technology. Using the latest dental equipment like a CBCT scanner, we can place implants within 1/100 of a millimeter accuracy, ensuring the best outcome and our patients complete satisfaction with the results.

Our in-house lab takes it a step further, allowing us to keep a close eye on the quality of our implant restorations. Being able to do everything right here means we can even offer a patient guarantee on our work be sure to ask our staff for details of this unique benefit.

My father was a contractor, and growing up, though I always thought I wanted to do something in health care, health care related, somebody suggested had I ever looked at dentistry. I hadnt, and so I went and visited the dental school at University of Iowa. I really liked it, and as it turns out, it's similar to what I saw my dad doing growing up, just on a smaller, micro level.

I really enjoy working with my hands. Working with people has been a great fit for my life. The most rewarding part of being a dentist is to help people with their health, with their smile. People's teeth and their smile are a huge part of their everyday life, and I think in general, people take it for granted until they have an issue or a problem with their teeth. And for us to be able to help them walk out the door, feeling confident again, is very rewarding.

I think that the specialty training that we can provide as a prosthodontist along with 20 years of experience in restorative dentistry is invaluable to patients. It's, they're going to come here and get the best care available in a comfortable, friendly environment. That's what we provide here.

Dr. Libby was born and raised in Des Moines, Iowa. He went to Iowa State University, where he received a bachelor of science in biology in 1993. He received his DDS from the University of Iowa in 1998. Dr. Libby went on to complete a prosthodontic residency at the University of Connecticut. After three years of intensive training in advanced restorative dentistry, cosmetic dentistry, and implant procedures, he moved to Phoenix, AZ in the summer of 2001.

Dr. Libby is married to Dr. Lidieth Libby, a practicing pediatric dentist in the office next door. They have three beautiful children who have brought much excitement to the Libby household. The Libbys also work with a Christian mission hospital that provides medical and dental care to poor people in Mexico. They try to make one or two trips a year, kids included, to provide care to the Mayan people in the Yucatan. The family also enjoys camping and vacations at the beach.

Well, first, I got interested in dentistry when I was in undergraduate college at Kent State University. I've always liked science. I've always been really good with my hands. And so dentistry seemed like a natural progression as a profession. And then once I actually got into dentistry, I migrated more towards the surgical aspect of the profession. And then that's when I decided to go on and do advanced training in oral and maxillofacial surgery. I think the fact that we're able to put our hands on people and do procedures that effectively change their lives, I think that in and of itself is very rewarding.

There's a lot of health care procedures and surgical procedures and nonsurgical procedures that help people, but everybody uses their teeth and their smile on a daily basis, whether it's for nutrition or for aesthetics. And so they're very cognizant of that, and the fact that we're able to help them with that, it can be life changing for some people. And that's what I really enjoy. Me and Dr. Olivia have worked together for 20 years. We're both highly trained in this area of expertise. And I think that's really important that you not only have experience on the restorative end and the surgical end, but you have people that have worked together and have successful cases over time. And I think that's a huge benefit to patients.

Dr. Matthew A. DeFelice earned his Bachelor of Science from Kansas State University in 1991, then went on to receive his Doctor of Dental Surgery from the University of Missouri-Kansas City. He furthered his education by completing a general practice residency at Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton, OH. During his residency, he decided to apply to another residency, this time in oral surgery. He was accepted into the program at Boston University Medical Center and completed his general surgery and oral and maxillofacial surgery residency there in 2000. Throughout his years of education, he was awarded numerous scholarships.

Dr. DeFelice is board certified by the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery (ABOMS) and the National Dental Board of Anesthesiology (NDBA). He is a diplomate of both organizations and a fellow of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons.

Dr. DeFelice decided to become a dentist because of the satisfaction he receives by helping and healing others. The best part of his job is being able to work with his hands, and he believes that his compassion is what his patients appreciate most about his treatment.

I think what sets our practice apart is that we're highly experienced in these types of procedures, but we're also compassionate individuals. We understand that these types of procedures and treatments can produce a certain level of anxiety for patients. A lot of times they come to us with some type of oral deficiency to where it's really affected their lives.

I think when patients call for an initial evaluation, they already know that they have some type of deficiency or a problem within their oral cavity. It's our job to ascertain what that is and help them achieve their goals in a very safe and predictable environment.

Any time you have some type of procedure done for a health benefit, it's a very personal experience for patients, and our staff has been with us for years, and myself and Dr. Libby understand that as well as the staff. We approach every patient individually, but we also understand and listen to them to make sure that they feel comfortable with what's going to be done and what we can offer and do that in the most comfortable setting possible.

We understand that when patients come to us, they need help. That's the bottom line, and we're going to do everything we can to get them to their goal and really, and ultimately, to change their lives.
