A graduate of the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey, Dr. Ratner is passionate about, and dedicated to, the philosophy of offering advanced care in a warm, comforting environment an environment that focuses on individual needs and individual health.
That is why he is also dedicated to continuing education and the advancement of dental knowledge. He has attended the prestigious Las Vegas Institute, having completed its entire core curriculum, including the intensive Full Mouth Restoration Program. He has been granted Fellowship in the Academy of General Dentistry, the Pierre Fauchard Academy, the International College of Dentists and the American College of Dentists. He has logged hundreds of hours of continuing education courses in all aspects of dentistry in order to serve his patients better.
He currently serves his profession as a national, state and local delegate of the American Dental Association. His awards and recognitions include honors as a National Merit Scholar and reception of the Bernard P. Tillis Award for Exemplary Writing.
Dr. Ratner is married to his high school sweetheart, Amy, and they have two children, Lindsay and Ben. In his free time he enjoys spending time with his family, perfecting his golf swing, cooking and traveling.

Exceptional only begins to scratch the surface of the type of service, one may receive from Dr Ratner, and his staff at Exceptional Dentistry. Not only is their dental work of the highest order, the sheer kindness and bedside manor of the entire staff, is truly extraordinary. As someone who neglected their oral health for years, resulting in daily physical discomfort and a deterioration of confidence, I can fully attest to the life changing experience I had with Exceptional Dentistry. Life changing is not an exaggeration, but a statement of fact. The state of the art equipment, the transparency of information and procedures, and the kindness and generosity of the staff, equates to an unmatched level of care. As a brief statement on the type of extraordinary service one may expect, the day after having nine teeth extracted, I returned to work, and spoke clearly and confident with minimal discomfort. If you are like me, and and have battled through unnecessary pain and discomfort of the physical and mental variety, because of the sense of fear or being overwhelmed with how to even begin to fix your problems, trust me when I say, call Exceptional Dentistry.

I had an exceptional experience at Dr. Ratner's office. The staff was welcoming, friendly, and informative. I had very minor gum recontouring done and the process was very carefully done and very quick. Whether it was a minor procedure or not, I am so happy I trusted Exceptional Dentistry and it has made a world of a difference to me. Great place, great people, great work. Thank you!

Exceptionally GREAT dental care , from the front office , to the hygienists , and then , there is Dr. Alex . In two years , my dental health has improved markedly . I now look forward to dental appointments . Thank you all , at Exceptional Dentistry !!!

Been going to dr Ratner since moved to Staten Island. The staff is amazing, very nice and professions. Dr Ratnet did good job on my implants. But the finishing work I am totally unhappy with. I've asked every time when are we going to try the bar? And was told next time, next time. And only on my last appointment, when there was basically no turning back, basically post-factum, that I am not getting what I wanted which is the bar but rather fasteners which totally defeats the purpose of going through all the pain and discomfort for 6 months. I am sure if I would go back to change the fasteners, because they don't last long, I would be charged. Dr Ratner did not account for any of my wishes. I was refunded the difference in price, but much less than I was originally quoted. I was told that the bar cost $1500 but was only refunded $250. I feel totally cheated out. You can't do this to loyal customers!

Doc Ratner saved a tooth that another dentist said had to be removed. He removed the cavity and and nerve (root canal) on the first visit and made and put in the cap on the second visit. This would have been four visits with another dentist. Everything is fine.

Love this office. The staff is always so friendly and welcoming. Each time I come there I am greeted by first name whether it is Debra or Dr Ratner himself. Truly is an exceptional experience, the name fits the bill.

Another great visit! Thanks Dr. Ratner & team.. Update 12/1/18: A small cavity was found during a routine check-up & cleaning. Today it was removed in less than 10 minutes! Amazing technology and excellent service! What else can you ask for.. I highly recommend Exceptional Dentistry!

It's called Exceptional Dentistry because they provide exceptional service. Dr. Ratner is by far the best dentist/oral surgeon I have ever met. Highly skilled and extremely competent. Responsible for all of my perfectly performed implants. State of the art office and equipment. Office staff extremely professional and courteous. Deanna is a wonderful dental hygienist - she always does a great job, and the staff at the desk, especially Debra, is terrific as well. Today was my third visit to this clinic and every time I go away happy and satisfied with the service received. Dr. Craig Rattner is very professional and soft spoken and his staff, especially Kathy and Debbie are very friendly and have been helpful with my insurance submission. Exceptional service overall!

I've been a patient for many years. The entire office is very welcoming and informative. Dr. Ratner truly is exceptional and has put me on the path to excellent oral health as well as Chrissy my dental hygienists. She is absolutely wonderful!!! I highly recommend visiting this dental office.
