Dr. Skinner graduated from Temple University School of Dentistry in 2004. He has since added many skills to his repertoire, with a focus on dental implants, advanced surgical procedures and bite therapy. He is one of two GNM neuromuscular dentists in the state of Alaska. To further ensure the comfort and safety of his patients, Dr. Kendall is also trained in IV sedation.
His passion is making lasting connections with his patients. When he is not practicing dentistry, Dr. Kendall enjoys spending time with his family. They enjoy all things Alaska, including camping, hunting, and fishing. He is an enthusiastic spectator of sports and you will often find him cheering for the underdogs in both the NFL and NBA finals.
With our focus being on the highest quality of care and specialty dentistry, Excellence in Dentistry is excited to introduce our patients to Dr. Michael Fox. Dr. Fox graduated from the University of California, San Francisco School of Dentistry and has over 25 years of experience. He completed a one-year post-grad residency where he perfected the handling of complex dental cases, advanced surgical techniques, and IV sedation.
Dr. Fox enjoys helping patients realize the connection between their oral health and overall health and assisting them to reach this goal! Outside of work, he has a passion for ultradistance cycling, bike-packing (yes, you read that correctly), strength conditioning, hiking, camping, and exploring the vast wilderness of Alaska. He is a licensed USA Cycling coach and holds a Masters degree in Sports Conditioning.
To give our patients quality restorations designed to go the distance, we need the right tools. Anchorage dentist Dr. Kendall spends time researching the latest in dental technology including digital x-ray and intraoral camera services, selecting only those techniques and tools that improve dental outcomes and patient satisfaction.
Digital X-rays and digital cone beam technology are state-of-the-art in diagnosis in addition to having 90% less exposure than the old x-ray systems. We have been using this advanced technology in our office since its inception in 1994. The use of these, along with our intraoral dental cameras, help us show and explain your conditions and recommended treatments so you can be involved in making an informed decision on whats best for you. Our overhead display monitor replaces the bright overhead lights of yesteryear, allowing you to see whats inside your mouth via digital images from an intraoral camera or x-raysor turn it into a DVD player to watch a movie during treatment. When you decide to correct or enhance your smile, its often difficult to determine ahead of time exactly what kind of results to expect. After all, a smile is a pretty personal thing, and changing your smile can feel like changing your identity. Thats where cosmetic digital imaging comes into play. Digital imaging is computer software that allows us to take your digital photograph and manipulate it to reflect the procedures youre considering. The result is a photo that shows you what your smile would look like after treatment. Whether youre considering teeth whitening, straightening, bonding, veneers, or a complete smile makeover, digital imaging technology lets you see into your future.
The process is quite simple. Once your dentist has completed your oral exam and discussed your smile goals, a treatment plan will be created. Various digital photos of your current smile will be taken and change factors will be keyed into the computer. The computer will immediately generate one or more graphic images that accurately demonstrate how the changes will affect the appearance of your mouth, as well as your overall facial appearance. You can also make custom changes to be sure you get what you want.

I have always had great anxieties about going to the dentist. They always seemed like "monsters" straight out of a horror movie. I would have full blown panic attacks at the thought of going to a dental office. It was even harder for me after I went through chemotherapy. I was slowly loosing teeth and I had stopped smiling. I began having issues with eating. I was always having dental pain but still refused to seek dental care, I was that afraid. Then my husband got into contact with Dr. Kendall's office. My husband finally convinced me to go after several days and tears, took me to see Dr. Kendall. Full blown panic attack happened. Dr. Kendall walked into the room and his gentle voice and soothing manners got me laughing before I even knew it. No one has ever taken that kind of time with me before. No dentist has ever shown me that level of compassion. He really talked to me not at me. He listened to me and actually heard what I said. He explained everything from start to finish. Dr. Kendall and his team held my hand through it all. I ended up having to have the 18 remaining teeth removed and was given dentures that same day. Dr. Kendall made a major dental surgery easy!! His dedicated team called to make sure I was okay afterwards. Not once but several times. I do admit that adjusting to the dentures has been a rocky road of learning. But Dr. Kendall has been there for my concerns, issues, and to just take the time to talk with me through the whole process. I am forever grateful for Dr. Kendall and his amazing team. They have not only given me back a reason to really smile but more importantly they gave me my full ability to eat without pain and tears. They have treated me like I am family from day one. I am forever grateful for Dr. Kendall and his team.

Aug 19, 2022. I have returned home after a hygiene appointment with Camiel. I raved to my husband... " she is great". She is a brilliant lady. Her work went quickly and also went as well as my precious appointments with retired Vicki. Camiel is a valuable member of staff with Excellence in Dentistry. I recommend her for anyone who might be dubious about having a hygiene appointment. She cleans teeth sonically. She washes any scrapings immediately. She finished the work with a lazer treatment. And we had a very good introductory chat. ( as though she is also a counselor). Thank you Camile.

Dr. Kendall Skinner is exceptionally meticulous and caring for his patients, especially concerning pain. My root canal went as smoothly as Possible for such a severe infection and I had very little discomfort. The office is sanitary and organized. The equipment is modern and well maintained. I believe Excellence in Dentistry is the best dental practice in Anchorage, Alaska.

Dr. Johnson and his staff are so awesome I can't even begin to put it in words! When I first arrived in his office a year ago my teeth were only touching on one place. Within two appointments the doctor had corrected this problem and then proceeded to correct my bite so that I could chew chocolate on both sides of my mouth!!!!! I sure wish I had listened to Dr. Skinner the first time he advised me to get a "night guard" . I waited a year and could have avoided so much discomfort and expense!
