A native of Huntsville, Alabama, Dr. Tibbs received his B.S. in Biology at Alabama A&M University and his Doctorate in Dental Surgery at Meharry Medical College. Dr. Tibbs then decided to further his studies at Case Western Reserve University, by completing his residency in Advanced General Dentistry, with a concentration on cosmetic dentistry and full mouth rehabilitation.
Dr. Tibbs is a dedicated, active member of the Academy of General Dentistry, the American Academy of Implant Dentistry, the International Congress of Oral Implantologists, and the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry. Dr. Tibbs thirst for knowledge and understanding of his craft motivates him to continue to strive for perfection.
In addition to completing over 400 hours of post-graduate cosmetic education, Dr. Tibbs also attended comprehensive, hands-on training courses in aesthetic and implant dentistry. Dr. Tibbs remains committed to using the best, most advanced equipment and materials in the practice thus enabling the construction of award-winning smiles while providing long lasting results for each patient.

I literally just got done getting a root canal and haven't even left the office yet. I am leaving this review so quickly because I looked at so many dental offices and their reviews before coming here and I am so very glad I came here. Mr. Tibbs made my root canal a pleasant experience. He was professional, gentle, and defiantly knew what he was doing. It was the less painful experience I've ever had. Aside from the small punch of the numbing shot I didn't feel a thing. I would certainly recommend them to anyone!!!!

Edit: didn't care one bit when I had emergency and scary pain after my extraction. Another dental office that had NEVER seen me cared more. Dr. Tibbs is by far the most professional and kind dentist I have ever interacted with. My entire experience at the office was incredibly pleasant. Even prior to my office visit, Dr. Tibbs made sure I was taken care of over the holidays prior to his office opening back up. From my check in experience, to meeting with the hygienist, to my interaction with the doctor, I felt incredibly safe and seen. I ended up having a tooth extracted, which I suspected was going to happen, but I was really nervous as I had never had a tooth removed before. My previous dentist did not want to do anything about it because there was nothing visible in the X-Rays, but Dr. Tibbs checked my pain and shared what he thought was going on with me. He spoke with me 1:1 while looking at my X-Ray and wanted to make sure I was comfortable with his plan. His hygienist (I believe her name was Morgan), was quite literally the kindest person I have ever met. She wiped my tears and made sure I was as comfortable as possible during the entire extraction procedure. They let me pause as I needed as well. Thank you so much Excel Dental Care. I appreciate all of you so much.

Wonderful wife and husband duo! I felt like my concerns were taken care of, and quickly may I add. I really enjoyed the fact that the information that was given over the phone was already on the new-patient registration papers, you usually have to fill out and write everything you have already said. The staff was friendly and welcoming; I can not say enough good things!

The staff at Excel Dental were very nice. They take the time to explain to the patient everything they are going to do and things that you need to have done in the near future. As for Dr. Woods, he went out of his way to make sure that when it was time to numb my cheek and gums that I had virtually np pain. Wonderful job.

I had an emergency... a tooth parcel had come out and needed to be replaced. Even though I was concerned, the staff was focused ensuring me that the tooth could be replaced with no problem. They scheduled me in right away and replaced the tooth. I was able to meet with my clients the next business day without embarrassment. I was so impressed with the level of service, the customer concern, and the welcoming and relaxing atmosphere of the office environment. A top quality dental practice.
