Avoid this doctor if you care about your teeth. After three failed implants, I had to pay him $600 to take out the broken implant.

EXCEL DENTAL AND ORTHODONTICS Unfortunately, I've got way too much experience with implants - over 10 of them during the past decade. I've used dentists that decided to get into the implants as a sideline, as well as dedicated implant surgeons that only specialize in the practice. Living in Orange County, I've always been intrigued with the promotions by a handful of operations promising implant/crowns specials for way under $1,000 - and always promising no hidden costs or surprises. You probably have seen the same ads. Needing another implant I thought I'd check out several 'budget' or 'new patient' ads in the OC Register and L.A. Times - knowing full well that they were probably too good to be true or switch and bait ('add-on' costs). Comparing apples to apples can be challenging because many implant centers will use 'no-name' implants to save costs (all my previous implants have been Nobel or Astra, established names in the implant industry). Sometimes I've needed sedation services for a particularly challenging surgery (like a sinus lift for bone stability); so I'm understanding that this can be a valid extra cost where needed in difficult situations. With that said ... My recent consultation with Excel Dental and Orthodontics pretty much confirmed my suspicions the ad promising a great price on a dental implant with crown/abutment was bogus. My total estimate for a standard implant climbed to $3,000; if I want sedation that would cost $1,500 (about a $1,000 over the normal, standard going rate). The extra thousands of dollars (for a no-name implant by the way!) was for - surprise - "extras". To top it off, everyone entering the office building was required to wear a mask (which, having just gotten over Covid, I was more than happy to comply with) but, guess what, the receptionist in the office (the person greeting everyone and handling paperwork) wasn't wearing a mask at any time during my visit. Very uncomfortable, unprofessional and awkward to experience this firsthand. I'm glad that I'm retired so I don't feel quite as bad about wasting an entire morning with this 'consultation'. Obviously, operations like this figure on a certain amount of 'churn' with some folks just not wanting to get a second or third opinion on a very expensive medical procedure (whether legitimate or an ad come-on promo), and just accepting whatever treatment (and cost) is presented to them - without understanding they're being taken advantage of. Be aware and informed - do some basic research before getting sucked in like I did!

Choose Excel Dental, Implant & Orthodontics Center. I came in need of a tooth extraction's and a few implants. I've had several painful and negative dental experiences and my anxiety about the procedures was high. At our consultation Dr. Lapsi and his team clearly explained our options and answered our several questions regarding the procedures, payment, insurance, etc. The office was inviting, warm, comfortable, and friendly. Their professionalism from my first visit to the quick follow ups after the crown was installed, has exceeded my expectations. Since then I have had 5 teeth pulled, grafted, enhanced bone, and inserted four posts for future implants. Since the teeth were frontal, he installed a flipper so it appears I indeed sport bottom teeth. I have zero pain, some tenderness. Also as an example of above and beyond service: During recovery at home I was worried about it's concerning color and appearance of my gum line. Dr. Lapsi responded via personal text message and phone call - on the weekend! (Everything was fine). Some matters of dental pain and unpleasant recovery simply can't be avoided, but you'll be in the best hands with Dr. Lapsi, Dr. Mark and his competent, very friendly staff. Wendy, the office manager, is no slouch with her own knowledge of surgery...I also considered her the choreographer of the operation. Dee, the hygienist really knows her trade and put me at ease. Marysol, the x-ray technician and assistant to Dr. Lapsi is the best. Excel Dental makes you feel, as if you're part of their family. They are truly concerned with their patients success. One word describes Excel Dental....awesome. Thanks Dr. Lapsi, Dr. Mark and the staff!

As a new patient to Excel Dental & Implant Center, I found Dr. Lapsi, Dr. Mark, and all of their dental and office staff members to be extremely professional, kind, and attentive throughout my initial checkup and followup visits for much-needed dental work: a crown and an onlay for two severely decayed teeth. I was made to feel completely comfortable at all times during my visits for these procedures, and greatly appreciate the time Dr. Lapsi, Dr. Mark, and staff spent to explain the reasons for the work I needed, as well as to answer my many questions concerning the necessary procedures. In addition, I found Excel Dental's evening hours to be very convenient. There was no need to miss time at work to have my dental work completed...An excellent experience!!

Amazing customer service and an absolute amazing experience. The staff is beyond incredible. Passion is something that can't be taught and this staff is the definition of passion. They are kind, pleasant, friendly, welcoming, respectful.....you get the idea! This is by design! The facility is top notch with all the latest modern equipment. I have worked in Healthcare most of my life and believe me when I say that is also one of the best run practices I've ever seen. Switch to Excel Dental & Orthodontics! There is no reason to ever go anywhere else.

After visiting a different local dentist, my husband and I decided to get a 2nd opinion as we didn't feel comfortable at the other establishment. We are both so happy we did. Dr. Lapsi and Dr. Mark's and his entire support staff - Dee, Wendy, Marysol and Bryan are amazing. They got us in right away, and when we called because it was a longer drive than we had expected and we were late, we were told "No problem. Just drive safely and we'll see you when we see you." There was no wait time to speak of, and they were so efficient. Dr. Lapsi remain calm, cool, and collected and explain everything perfectly to you. He breaks down treatment options in a manner that makes sense to you and in the most urgent to least urgent approach. His bed-side-manner is exactly what it needs to be. You can tell he cares about you and about what he does. You will not regret coming to see him. He is kind and to the point. Everyone was sympathetic to our needs and very helpful. We are transferring our children to him and his office as well. If you are looking for a dentist look no further Dr. Lapsi is the perfect choice.

Such an incredible, caring, supportive office! I am writing this review for a very special dentist and the most amazing group of professionals that simply cannot be any better. Dr. Lapsi is my dentist at Excel Dental & Implant Center, and he is absolutely, hands down the best dentist I have ever had. His care, attention to detail, technical knowledge and the support that he has shown to me through very difficult, emotional and diverse dental processes has been unparalleled. Bryan is one of his fabulous assistants, who has tirelessly and meticulously created, placed and helped me to find an alternative to a partial that was needed due to my healing implants and did not fit my lifestyle and personal needs. Without this alternative my professional career and self esteem would have been severely lessened. Marysol is another incredible assistant who has helped me to feel safe, supported and has always made me feel at ease as I had 3 new crowns placed. And even on the days that I have a chaotic schedule, I know that seeing them as I enter the office will put a smile on my face. And though I have gone a bit out of the order you shall encounter these wonderful professionals, Wendy begin's your journey to a beautiful smile with her compassionate, sweet, kind and always always welcoming presence. You know from the moment you walk in to the time you leave and even beyond such(in cases when you call for an appointment or to have a prescription sent in or refilled) they are attentive, helpful, kind and allow your mind to be put ease, even a nervous, very sensitive patient like me. iThey are truly amazing, compassionate women that go out of their way for every person who may enter the office. Their delightful demeanors are awesome and they manage a busy office with kindness and joy. My first visit I came to them with a broken bridge and a true fear of dental offices and the implant process due to a horrific experience previously at another office. I was introduced to Dr. Lapsi who placed my two upper molar implants about 5 months ago. The extraction of the decayed molar, the placement of the implants and the surgery was smooth and in the office. It was wonderful to be surrounded by the kind faces that I knew already and to be in the very capable hands of of Dr. Lapsi. He is easy to speak with, has a calming presence and my anxiety was calmed by knowing I had made the right choice in procedure, but even more in professionals who go above and beyond to ensure that you have as comfortable as possible experience throughout each step, which is pretty extensive in my case. Each and every kind, supportive member of this office has given me hope for the future and I am so grateful. This is more than office, this is a place of healing, compassion & community and with each appointment you know that you are not just in good hands, but the best. I leave smiling, well at least as well as you can with a bit anesthesia in. I could not ask for any better.If you want a beautiful smile, a phenomenal, personalized experience with a close office that makes you feel like family, you found it. 5 star excellence. Dr. Lapsi and the office staff- Wendy, Bryan, Marysol are absolutely the best. Trust me it doesn't get any better than this. I had my 4 wisdom teeth removed at Excel Dental 2 weeks back and I can't stress of how much of an amazing experience I had at this office! I filled out my new patient information paperwork and then was led into the consultation room for the initial consultation. Wendy, made me feel extremely comfortable from the get go by flashing her super nice smile and super friendly attitude. Honestly, it made me feel very much at ease. Marysol, was the dental assistant who took my X-ray and the ct-scan and again went an extra step to make sure that I was extremely comfortable. Then came Dr. Lapsi who is a very patient dentist who deeply cares about his patients. It's quite obvious that'd despite the fact of how busy he was , he still took the time off to explain me the steps involved in the surgical procedure. Wendy went over the prices with me which were extremely fair and reasonable. With that said, I paid in full and scheduled an appointment under sedation to pull all 4 of my wisdom teeth. The day of the procedure , Bryan who is also an Dental assistant put the monitoring system on me in a few different spots. Then, I was out under some laughing gas and felt drowsy. The last thing I could recall was Dr. Lapsi looking at me preparing something for the procedure and after that it's all a blurred memory. When I woke up, I asked if we were finished and to my relief, we were. The surgery was a success and I was given a take home kit which had some gauze, ice pack, a maul tooth brush and a list of post-op instructions. My mind was pretty alert post surgery, although physically I was still feeling a bit dizzy. Bryan, helped me and my boyfriend to my boyfriend's car which was so thoughtful. After I got home , I got a call in the evening from Wendy to check on me and the next day I received a personal e-mail from Dr. Lapsi himself checking on me . Fabulous service! I seriously cannot recommend this place enough.
