Crowns are typically used to restore a tooth's function and appearance following a restorative procedure such as a root canal. When decay in a tooth has become so advanced that large portions of the tooth must be removed, crowns are often used to restore the tooth.
Crowns are also used to attach bridges, cover implants, prevent a cracked tooth from becoming worse, or an existing filling is in jeopardy of becoming loose or dislocated. Crowns also serve an aesthetic use, and are applied when a discolored or stained tooth needs to be restored to its natural appearance.
A tooth must usually be reduced in size to accommodate a crown. An impression is then made from the existing tooth to create a custom-designed crown. The impression is sent to a special lab, which manufactures a custom-designed crown. In some cases, a temporary crown is applied until the permanent crown is ready. Permanent crowns are cemented in place.
With proper care, a good quality crown could last up to eight years or longer. It is very important to floss in the area of the crown to avoid excess plaque or collection of debris around the restoration.
Certain behaviors such as jaw clenching or bruxism (teeth grinding) significantly shorten the life of a crown. Moreover, eating brittle foods, ice or hard candy can compromise the adhesion of the crown, or even damage the crown.

Everyone at Everhart Dental are so very nice,they make you feel so welcomed. Tiffany is the best......she makes you feel so comfortable and is gentle with her patients. She along with the Dr and receptionist have very great attitudes towards their patients.

This facility has the most friendly and caring staff. Their hospitality is amazing all staff members make you feel so special.. Additionally the dentist Dr. Hasur is so thorough, knowledgeable and informational... Overall the most outstanding service was provided. I highly recommend this facility.

An absolutely wonderful experience! The staff here as a whole has an amazing attitude toward patient care. Everyone is patient and knowledgeable in their position which makes for a comfortable visit with little to no anxiety. Definitely recommend Dr Hosur and her staff, especially if you have any reservations about the dentist. She'll make you feel comfortable and explain everything to you so you can know exactly what to expect.

My appointments have been wonderful!!!!! Could not ask for better smiling faces, wonderful, helpful and caring staff. Dr Hosur is very informative and attentive. The new Hygienist Amanda was very gentle and informative with any questions I had. And last but no least Pam!!! She is nothing but awesomeness!!! I love this place

Oh my goodness where to even start ...first of all the doctor was even more excited then me I think lol ...she changed everything for me I been married 19yrs and I never even let my wife see my teeth....now my confidence definitely jumped up about 100% and her help she has there super nice Sarah is great after every appointment they call me the falling days to make sure I'm feeling OK...talk about making u feel like family .I know it might sound Lil cheesy but u really need to see for urself thank you again doctor much love

A great experience in a dentist's office is a rare thing, but that it exactly what you get when you go to Dr. Hosur. She is caring, knowledgeable, low key, and lets you know exactly what is going on during every step of the procedure. The assistant Sarah, hygienist Chris and Tiffany, as well as the front desk staff Judy, Minnie, and Pam are wonderful also. The student assistant shows great promise! They are friendly, efficient, and know your name. I would say of all the dentists I have gone to over the years, Dr Hosur and her staff is the best.

I wish I would've known about Dr. Hosur and her wonderful staff sooner. The state of the art equipment makes getting your night guard, partials, etc so much more faster and easier. Dr. Hosur, Sarah and Cris made me feel so comfortable and answered all my questions. The front desk ladies greeted me with a smile even on a Monday. If going to the dentist gives you anxiety, go to Everhart Dental they will make sure you're relaxed and comfortable before starting any procedure.

Dr. Shobha Shosur is the best dentist I have ever seen as she is very experienced, kind, takes the time to explain what needs to be done and why it is important. The front desk personnel (Judy and Minnie) are very professional and courteous. I really like my hygienist, Tiffany, who has worked on my teeth for years.
