Dr. Peter Evans attended high school right here in Williamsburg before earning a Bachelor of Science degree from East Carolina University. In between this educational beginning and graduate school at the Medical College of Virginia, he worked at the National Institute of Health, performing cancer research. Dr. Evans earned his Master of Science degree in Microbiology and Immunology and his Doctorate of Dental Surgery at the Medical College of Virginia.
Since beginning his dental practice in 1982, Dr. Evans has continued to expand on his knowledge base with advanced training courses. In addition to holding membership with several dental associations, Dr. Evans has achieved the highest level of education, becoming one of only 1800 professionals in the world to hold Mastership in the Academy of General Dentistry.
Dr. Evans believes in serving his patients with the highest standard of care, and in bettering the dental field as a whole. He has served as an adjunct faculty member at Virginia Commonwealth University, and he coaches others in the dental field through local and national training seminars. One of the aspects of dentistry Dr. Evans is passionate about sharing with patients and peers is BioCompatible dental care. He is one of the founding members of The American Academy for Oral Systemic Health.

Dr. Peter Evans graduated from high school right here in Williamsburg, VA before meeting the challenge of preparing for a career as a dentist. For Dr. Evans, learning never stops. He continually adds to his knowledge, experience, and contacts with annual professional education courses. To date, he has logged nearly 2,000 hours of advanced training. Dr. Evans is dedicated to staying abreast of changes in dentistry and to providing the highest level of patient care. Dr. Evans has achieved the elite designation as Master in the Academy of General Dentistry. Committed to knowledge sharing for the advancement of dentistry, Dr. Evans coaches other dental professionals. He teaches practice management and efficiency at a local and national level. Additionally, he lectures professionally on the topic of BioCompatible dental care. He is a founding member of the American Academy for Oral Systemic Health (AAOSH), and President of The BioCompatible Difference, LLC. He considers providing healthy dental care to friends and neighbors in the Williamsburg area to be his biggest accomplishment.
Sue is another lifer in the dental field, with over 20 years of experience. She is clinical assistant to Dr. Evans, and an expert in patient care. Every day, Sue makes it her mission to ensure each patient has a comfortable and pleasant dental experience.

Everyone in this office was genuinely kind, caring, knowledgeable and thorough. I felt very safe that I was in the best hands possible. I cannot recommend this dentist enough.

I'm moving in a few weeks and am sad I can't bring Dr. Evans and his entire staff with me! I have using them for about 3 years at this point and literally have zero complaints about my care there. I drove an hour to go here and it was worth it. I appreciated the holistic approach and the fact that they don't force x-rays on anyone. They recommended I get a set of x-rays done because it had been a long time since I had had any and I said I would rather not, unless there was a specific area in the mouth they wanted a better look at, and they were fine with it. (My sister in law actually got kicked out of a dentist practice because her x-rays were five years old and they refused to continue to treat her without updated ones. I'm so glad I wasn't treated that way.) I just had one of my teeth refaced at my last visit and Dr. Evans did an amazing job. Perfectly matched the tooth color to my other teeth and meticulously whittled it down so it wouldn't hit my top teeth while talking or eating. (I had my original work done by a pediatric dentist who didn't whittle it down and it always clacked against my upper teeth until it eventually fell off) I will miss this practice and recommend them highly.

I was so afraid of dentists. Then I met Dr. Evans and assistant Sue and was immediately put at ease. The practice is great for more naturally minded folk like me. After my initial consultation I was confident in their practices. And now am confident and happy with the results. Thank you Dr. Evans and Sue!!!

I left the traditional dentist for a more holistic approach to dental health with Evans Dental Care and haven't looked back. Travel time for me is 45 minutes and worth it. After several trips my teeth are finally mercury and metal free. The changes from this have been subtle, probably a little physical and mental as I feel better having finally taken this action. I'm a believer in energy meridians and their effect on the rest of the body but it's only a part of total holistic health. The folks here are friendly, professional and take their work seriously. If you're seeking a higher plane of health, consider this dentistry - take a leap of faith. I think you'll be pleased with your decision.

Dr. Evans and everyone who works with him is caring, kind, compassionate, and a cut above the rest when it comes to their knowledge and my dental results! I have gone to dentists all my life and didn't realize I had been receiving a lesser standard until I began to see how much better my teeth looked and felt. Honestly, it didn't occur to me until after my mercury fillings came out each time, how much more energy I had afterwards. They were very patient with me. Now I'm so glad, and my smile shows it! Thank you to all!

I've been with Evans Dental Care since 1993 and they are the best! They not only provide excellent dental care but they make you feel like family. I also love the fact that Dr Evans only uses the best and safest dental materials. Everything in my mouth is healthy! I'd never go anywhere else.

I drive from Richmond to see Dr Evans. It is awesome to have a dentist who embraces holistic dental care. And I love Karen who does my check-ups every 6 months. She really understands a whole body health approach to dental care and how nutrition impacts your dental health. Very happy here in spite of the long drive!

There is good and then there is excellent. If you want the best this is the one. Unfortunately I have had to see him more than I wanted. But I would not want anyone else for the job. Glad you are there. :-)

Although I live in Newport News and rough the horrible drive to Williamsburg to see Dr. Evans; it's totally worth it! Dr. Evans is the only dentist in the history of dentistry that actually makes me feel relaxed about having a procedure. I have complete confidence that what he recommends is not only needed but will be done in the least toxic manner. Dentistry can be a very toxic business but Dr. Evans understands that he treating the whole person and not just a piece of a person. Having this approach ensures you're getting a healthier procedure and follows a more holistic care regime. I love, love, love Dr. Evans and highly recommend his practice.
