Dr. Eugene M. Azuma, DDS received his Bachelor of Arts in Zoology from the University of Hawaii at Manoa before pursuing his Professional Diploma in Secondary Education Specializing in Biology and Marine Science. He then received his Doctor of Dental Surgery from Georgetown University School of Dentistry in Washington, DC.
In 1990, Dr. Azuma established Eugene M. Azuma, DDS, his family-oriented dental practice in Honolulu, HI. What started off as a small, two-operatory office later evolved into a technologically advanced dental practice in 1995.
Dr. Eugene M. Azuma, DDS is a specialist in sleep apnea treatment and dental sleep medicine. In 2016, Dr. Azuma, along with his colleagues, established Hawaii Dental Sleep Medicine, LLC. Dr. Azuma is the Vice President of the American Sleep and Breathing Academy and he has served on the board as one of their certified diplomates.

Dr. Azuma was excellent and he explained everything! I paid with my credit card and it showed a different amount than what the bill showed but the girl in the front couldn't explain why.. kinda put a damper to a great teeth cleaning experience..

Treats his staff in an abusive manner....in front of clients. Highly unprofessional. Would definitely not recommend, especially if you're a woman.

If I could give 0 stars I would, highly physically and verbally abusive to the staff even in front of clients! Very unprofessional and doesn't deserve anyone's business!

Dr. Azuma and his friendly staff have been my lifesaver. He is always accommodating, professional, and has kept up with the latest technology. He attends all seminars, and goes out of his way to help his clients, while giving them different options. He takes the time and effort to give each patient the special care they deserve, in a loving, professional manner. I have been a patient for over 10+ years and can never see myself seeing any other dentist. Dr. Azuma was able to diagnose and treat my TMJ when no other health professional could. 98% of my symptoms are gone!! I was prescribed anti seizure medicine, which luckily I did not take, and had a dentist appointment right after the Dr. appt. I grumbled about what I was going thru and he listened throughly. BAMM! He was able to diagnose me with TMJ! I was on the way to recovery finally! Words cannot describe how fortunate I am to have a living angel help me manage this terrible and extremely painful condition. A huge Mahalo to you Doc! I broke a tooth in early April during this Covid 19 shelter in place time. I called several dentists. Dr. Azuma was the only one who called me back. He personally called me back and took me in as new patient. Most dentists are not accepting new patients during this pandemic. I found Dr.Azuma to be caring, kind, honest and compassionate. Unlike some of the other reviews posted??? I noticed that he had a really good rapport with his staff. Everyone was relaxed and happy. His staff is also top notch!!! Warm, friendly and extremely helpful! I am currently under Dr. Azuma's care and feel like I am in good caring hands by him and his staff. I also got my teeth cleaned. Michelle, my hygienist was awesome. She has a soft touch and it was the best cleaning that I have received in years. I'm very grateful to Dr. Azuma for taking me in as a patient. I'm more than happy to refer his practice to anyone who is looking for a dentist who really has your best interest in mind.

Dr. Azuma has been my dentist for a couple of years now, but after today I have finally had it with his horrible bedside manner. He has zero manners. I have also witnessed him be verbally abusive to the amazing women he is lucky to have working for him, which is the only reason I kept coming back! They do all the amazing work on my teeth and he comes in and throws nothing but attitude at them. Also sat at the desk eating his lunch next to someone during this time. SOCIAL DISTANCE - you'd think he would be more considerate of the people he has working for him.

Was out in Oahu for my wedding and realized I could use a good cleaning before my big day. Met up with Dr. Azuma and on short notice he fit me in to do a cleaning. After initial exam he determined it would be best to do a deep cleaning. In no time flat i was In and out feeling that much better about how the wedding and my improved smile. Great counter staff, and Dr Azuma gave me a very thorough review and have to say was one of my best experiences at a dental office.
