Growing up in Grandville, Michigan with a father who also practiced dentistry, it is clear to see how Dr. Lee became passionate about dental and oral health. He attended nearby Hope College for his undergraduate education, where he received a Bachelors Degree in Biology in 1995. From there, he went to University of Detroit Mercy Dental School, graduating as a Doctor of Dental Surgery in 2000.
These questions lead him to further his education through the Pankey Institute for Advanced Dental Education in Florida. Upon completion of the full curriculum, Dr. Lee had a renewed sense of the importance of focusing on patient relationships in order to improve their overall dental and oral health. With this knowledge, he has been able to provide his patients with the attention and care they need to ensure they feel safe and comfortable, while also remaining healthy.
Dr. Lees relationship based dentistry philosophy fits right in with the fact that he loves to serve. As much as he enjoys learning to fuel his passion for dentistry, he also loves to help others acquire such valuable information. Because of this, he has been involved in several study groups which were focused on comprehensive care. Through teaching and spreading his knowledge to other dentists and his patients, he is improving the overall oral health, as well as the quality of life for many people.
In addition to the previously mentioned credentials, Dr. Lee is also an active member of the American Equilibration Society (AES). Staying up-to-date with this association for education in comprehensive dental sciences ensures that Dr. Lee is able to provide premium and individualized care for the well-being of his patients.
While Dr. Lee loves practicing dentistry, he also makes sure to take a break to foster his personal relationships by spending quality time with his family. During the beautiful Michigan summers, he enjoys spending time at their cottage, doing water activities, and simply relaxing.
Frankie has worked with the Lee family for 20 years. As the Clinical Supervisor and team leader, her favorite aspect of her job is the focus on the patients. As she has been with the office for so long, the patients have become more like friends and family, bringing her a tremendous amount of joy over the years. In her time away from the office, Frankie loves to spend time with her husband of 26 years and 2 daughters by having traditional Sunday dinners and taking yearly trips to Mexico.
Lynelle has been an assistant in Dr. Lees dental office for 17 years. Some of her favorite aspects of her job include cultivating relationships with patients and colleagues, and seeing patients reactions to restorations that Dr. Lee has completed. In her free time, she enjoys taking day trips with her husband Kyle, shopping with her 2 daughters, Haley and Brooklyn, and trying new restaurants. She is also actively involved in her churchs plant and bible studies.
As a Registered Dental Hygienist, Kacie began working at Dr. Lees office as a substitute in 2008 and eventually transitioned to a permanent position in 2011. Outside of work, she enjoys working with underprivileged communities and has been able to use her dental experience on several mission trips to Africa, Guatemala, and the Dominican Republic. Kacie is married with a 1-year-old son named Wyatt. In her free time she enjoys exercising and spending time her family at home and at their cottage.
Emma is a dental hygienist and received her hygiene degree from Ferris State University in 2015. She is originally from Twining, MI and moved to West Michigan in 2010. One of her favorite aspects of her job is building relationships with her patients and helping them improve their health through patient education and making the connection between oral and systematic health. Outside of work, Emma has had the opportunity to volunteer in underprivileged communities in South America. She also enjoys spending time at her family cottage, taking her two dogs on hikes, and DIY projects.
Diane has been a dental hygienist for 21 years. She worked for Dr. Kenley Lee, Dr. Erik Lees father, from 1997 to 2004. She rejoined the practice in 2017. Outside of work, she enjoys making crafts with her daughter, going on motorcycle rides with her husband of 21 years, and working in her garden.
Whitney joined Dr. Lees team to work at the front desk in 2018. She recently moved back to the Grand Rapids area after working with a missions-based development company in Zambia for two years. Prior to moving to Africa, Whitney graduated from Grace Christian University with a Bachelors Degree in Human Services. She also served on two AmeriCorps national teams. In her free time, she enjoys traveling with her husband, playing the viola, and taking canoe trips with her family.
After graduating from Coopersville High School, Aubrie joined Dr. Lees team to work at the front desk. She is currently studying Early Childhood Education at Grand Rapids Community College to become a preschool teacher. Her favorite part of her job is creating relationships with patients and helping them in any way that she can. When shes not at work, she enjoys traveling, playing with her nephews, bike riding, and walking her dogs.
