Digital X-rays offer a huge advantage in early detection and preventive services. Advanced image manipulation and analysis, for example, allows your doctor to detect early stages of gum disease through recognition of bone level changes, or by evaluating the results against a previous treatment.
An intraoral camera is an indispensable diagnostic and educational tool. The tiny video camera moves around inside of your mouth and generates a tooth by tooth video exam of your teeth. Using an intraoral camera allows patients to better understand their dental needs by seeing what the dentist sees and then having it explained.
Lasers are a non-surgical approach to arresting the progression of periodontal disease. Following scaling and root planing, a laser is used to significantly reduce the bacterial colonies and decontaminate the infected periodontal pocket. Lasers also remove the infected tissue lining the periodontal pocket. As the infected tissue is removed, microscopic blood clots form and your body's natural healing response takes over. As you heal, the tissue reattaches to the bone and your gums return to a healthy infection-free state.

I only gave 1 star because zero is not an option. Made an appointment as a new patient cleaning. After receiving 18 X-rays and 4 photographs of my teeth I met with the dentist. He did a cancer screening that he said my insurance would not cover and it would cost $35-I okayed this screening. He also examined my teeth and told me I had periodontal disease and cracked teeth. Funny how my last dentist of 15 years never brought this up. After the bad news I asked if I was going to get my teeth cleaning. He said he could clean them but it would not fix the problems. He then sent in another employee to go over what I would owe if I had the work done. After being told it would be over $1500 he asked when I wanted an appointment. Told him I would have to call him back. The dentist then came back in and without a word 'cleaned' my teeth for about 4 minutes, rinsed my mouth and left. Hygienist came in to polish and ask me if I wanted teeth to be flossed. When done I went and paid my $35 and left. I have now received notice from my dental insurance that the photos taken were not covered and my responsibility would be $360!! Why was I told about the $35 service not being covered but not the photos at $90 each?! They had my insurance information well before my appointment and they could have informed me of the photos not being covered so I could make a decision before they were done. Don't appreciate the surprise cost. And now I will have to wait 6 months to find another dentist and get a proper cleaning. Absolutely do not recommend this dental practice unless you want a large bill for something you never asked for.

I travel a lot and invariably I have an issue before or during travel. Without fail - four times - Erie Modern Dentistry and Dr Roggo have gotten me in within 24 hours. On two occasions, I was examined, crowns were made in the office, and the team had me out the door in less than two hours. They do this with kindness, efficiency and high-energy - from reception through treatment. Truly top tier modern dentistry.

I love this dental office. Dr Coleman is wonderful. David, the office manager is amazing. He has been so helpful in working with me and my incompetent insurance company. I am beyond happy to have found this dental office.

We've been coming here for a little over two years and we have had nothing but good experiences. All the hygienists have been great and knowledgeable and Dr. Coleman really takes his time to explain what's going on and next steps. Thanks for the best treatment and care.

Unethical. I went here to get a cleaning and all I got was x-rays and a long list of services I didn't need. Is this a dentist or a car dealership? I would warn people that they will try to sell you a bunch of services you do not need so be prepared and get comfortable saying no. I was caught off guard, but I left annoyed that I spent an hour there and did not get the cleaning I scheduled. Now I have to start all over and find a trustworthy dentist office.

Dr. Coleman is a great dentist! He's always been efficient and honest when working on my teeth. I feel confident I'm getting the exact care I need each time with no unnecessary add-ons. The front desk is also extremely helpful and quick with scheduling appointments, setting up additional care during dental emergencies, and helping figure out clear costs for upcoming procedures. Highly recommend!

I have been going to Erie Modern Dentistry for a few years now. They always take care of my family on all of there dental needs. Today they showed they really care and are not just about money. I had a root canal on one of my teeth and a new crown over the last week. When I returned home my front tooth had cracked at some point. This made me a little worried that this happened during my procedure. Most likely happened while I was eating dinner. I called them right away and they got me in next day. When I sat down with Dr. Coleman he went over my xray's past and present. Showing me that my tooth has looked like it has been weeking over the last few years. This was filling I had done a long time ago so it started to make sense why it cracked off. So at the point I figured it was just a bad coincidence and would have to pay for the filling. Dr. Coleman cleaned up my tooth fixed the filling and made it look like new. When I went to the front desk to leave thinking I would have to pay. They said Chris you are all set and have a great day! This is great customer service and will continue to take my family here for there dental needs. Thank you to the team at Erie Modern Dentistry!!!!

About a year ago after moving to Erie, I established care at this office. On my second visit, I was told I needed a crown for a cracked tooth. I thought this was odd, so I went to two other dentists to get a second opinion. Turns out I did not need a crown, and did not have a cracked tooth. My husband had the same experience. He was told he had a cavity forming, and went to get a second opinion. No cavity. I would recommend getting additional opinions if you are told you need any work done.

I really love it here. The office is always clean, the woman at the front desk was very kind and professional, the woman who did my x-rays was awesome. Abby the hygienist was amazing!!! If I could request her every time I would. She took the time to ask me if I was okay, she was gentle and thorough, not a speck of pain. Dr. Coleman is amazing as well! You'll love it here!

My mom is visiting from out of town and had a dental emergency. She has poor dental health in general but the team here was so helpful and she never felt judged. David at the front was professional and informative, he squeezed her in and was patient with us and really went above and beyond to help us. Dr Coleman and his hygienist were also very good! Updated 2/1/2021 - Be warned. Erie Modern Dentistry is now owned by Smile Generation, which in my opinion tries to sell products and services that are unnecessary. They went from my 5 star review to a 1 star review because I was told I needed to have work done that my new dentist told me today did not need to be done. Updated 5/10/2019 - EMD managed to get me in to see Dr. Engler the same day. Terrific service. 4/14/2019 - The people here are incredible. Simply the best. They took care of me in one day. Needed a crown and a filling. It came out to be $50 less than my regular dentist. I am proud to say Erie Modern Dentistry is now my official dentist.

I liked my very first visit! Everything is updated and new and paperless. I loved Kaila she was so very nice! Hanna my X-ray tech was very nice as well. Dr Coleman was very knowledgeable, friendly, gentle and explained everything. My only critique is I felt like they were very selly trying to upswell products. But after kindly saying no they didn't push further. Glad I found these guys and excited for my next visit in 6 months!

Dr. Coleman is great and so is the new teeth cleaner! The administrative, scheduling and responsiveness however has been extremely poor. Wrong e-mails, didn't return calls, didn't send invoice, and the latest was amazingly inept- I simply called to see if I could change my appointment and after talking to her she said she would call around to see if we could get earlier date an alternatve location. She never called me back, so I called her and she said "oh I thought I was to call you back after your old appointment date"?????. Yet she had already cancelled the old date. Wow
