Dr. Kaplan is a Board Certified Periodontist practicing in Port Jefferson Station, NY. She received her B.A. from Franklin and Marshall College and her DDS at SUNY Buffalo School of Dental Medicine. She completed her training with a General Practice Residency at Montefiore Medical Center and received a certificate in Periodontics at NYU College of Dentistry.
Dr. Kaplan is currently the Director of the Dental Department at St.. Charles Hospital in Port Jefferson, and the former chief of Periodontics for the General Practice Residency. She has given many lectures to her colleagues at St. Charles Hospital including the medical staff. Dr. Kaplan has also lectured numerous study clubs and runs The Port Jefferson Dental Study Club. She was a founder of The Female Dental Academy of Long Island.
Dr. Kaplan was raised in Bellmore, NY and returned to Long Island to practice and raise her family. When Dr. Kaplan is not practicing Periodontics, she is spending time with her family. She has been married to Scott since 2001 and has two sons, Julian and Nathan.

Dr Kaplan and her staff provide outstanding, caring and professional service. My LANAP procedure went smoothly and I had very minimal post procedure discomfort. Dr Kaplan always goes the extra mile in answering questions and explaining procedures. The staff is very courteous and helpful. Truly a five star periodontal practice!

Dr. Kaplan and her entire staff are kind, compassionate and professional. I went to Dr. Kaplan with a complicated situation that required oral surgery. Throughout the procedure, which was close to 3hrs; Dr. Kaplan was calming and reassuring that I will be ok. The next day I had little to no pain due to her expertise skill. I reached out to her the following day with a question. She returned my call within minutes. In addition her staff assisted me in signing up with a dental payment plan. I recommend Dr. Kaplan to anyone in need of an excellent periodontist.

My son (age 20) needed a gum graft. Dr Kaplan was recommended. She and her staff are a class act. She was thorough, informative, calming and so relatable. Her office manager Lisa goes above and beyond. She followed up with phone calls, is knowledgeable and so friendly. I highly recommend Dr Kaplan and her team for your periodontal care.

Dr. Kaplan and her help in the office are very personable and pleasant. She answered all my questions. The procedure was quick and easy. No pain, and she asked me to make sure and tell her if the is. There wasn't. Out of there with time to go shopping

I was greeted very friendly by the office receptionist as I was given forms to complete. Dental assistant was also very professional as I was greeted and entered the examation room and was informed the procedures of my visit . I was thoroughly examined by Erica DDS as she explained step by step of each procedure and made sure that I was comfortable. I was pleased with my first visit and was very comfortable knowing all my dental concerns will be taken care of.

Dr Kaplan is amazing. Today she removed a tooth that had been giving me problems for quite a while. In addition to the tooth extraction, she did a bone graft and inserted an implant. Her skill is incredible. The procedure was performed approximately 9 hours ago, am I am pain free! This is the second procedure that Dr. Kaplan has performed with incredible results. If you are looking for an extremely skilled Periodontist, Dr Erica Kaplan should be the one!!

I was terrified to make this appointment and I mean terrified. My dentist has been begging me to go for the last 5 years. Immediately Dr. Kaplan put me at ease and I can't say enough nice things about her staff. I would definitely recommend Dr. Kaplan to all chickens out there! As an update I'd also like to add that another plus for this wonderful doctor is that she really cares for her patients. If she knows your in pain she will make sure to get you in asap. We really need more doctors like her. Thank you Dr. Kaplan and her lovely staff.
