I have been fortunate to live in Lompoc for most of my life. I grew up in the valley and graduated from Lompoc High School in 1988. I continued my undergraduate education at Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff, AZ where I received my Bachelor of Science in Microbiology.
I attended Dental School at the University of San Francisco, the preeminent dental research enterprise in the world. I was awarded a US Navy scholarship in 1996 and committed to serving three years in the armed forces. I graduated from UCSF in 1998 with my doctorate and was stationed in San Diego, CA.
While serving in San Diego, I earned an Advanced Education in General Dentistry Certification. I was then transferred as Dental Officer to the USS Frank Cable in Guam. After two years aboard ship, I completed my service honorably. I was then given the opportunity to return to Lompoc and join Dr. Lusby as an associate dentist. I worked side by side with Dr. Lusby for six years until his retirement, taking over the practice entirely when he moved to Kauai. I have enjoyed practicing dentistry in my hometown for over ten years now.
Overt the years, I have taken many advanced professional courses in dentistry. I have also traveled to remote locations for humanitarian dental treatment including East Timor and the Dominican Republic. I am currently a member of several professional organizations including the California Dental Association, CEREC certified doctors, and National Fellowship with the American Dental Implant Association.
I married my high school sweetheart in 1994 and we have three sons: Nico, Danan, and Noah. My wife, Nancy, was also raised in Lompoc. She is an English Teacher at Cabrillo High school and an involved member of the local community.
We are a very active family. We participate in all types of sports and outdoor activities. I also enjoy coaching football and basketball at both the youth and high school levels. We spend our free time paddle boarding, mountain biking, surfing, snowboarding, hiking, and camping.
I have been very fortunate to return to the area where I was raised. I take pleasure in being able to help the families (often several generations) whom I have known for many years. Lompoc is my hometown and there is nothing better than giving back to the community I love.
