Eric Batterton is a doctor of dental surgery in Delaware, Ohio with more than twenty years of experience. His general practice includes cosmetic and pediatric dentistry. In 2001, Eric established the locally owned dental practice, Eric Batterton DDS. He values being an integral part of the Delaware, Ohio community and enjoys family time and running. Eric finds it rewarding to be part of such an involved, collaborative town. He is a member of the ODA, ADA, CODS and the Central Ohio Dental Forum.
I have the opportunity to help people feel better, look better, and be healthier in a very personal way. It may be as simple as restoring a chipped tooth to its original condition, or as complex as a full mouth reconstruction. Sometimes it is just helping a frightened child feel comfortable enough to laugh and joke with me during a procedure.
I was born in Longbeach, CA and grew up in San Diego. I did my undergraduate work at the University of Southern California. At USC, I concentrated on courses that would prepare me for dental school, but also really enjoyed playing trombone in the USC marching band. From USC, I went to dental school at the University of California at San Francisco, and then came to Columbus for an Advanced General Dentistry residency at Ohio State.
Over the next several years, I worked at four different dental offices in the Columbus area, which gave me the chance to determine what style of dental practice was the best fit for me. I decided to start my own practice in Delaware, Ohio because I strongly value the community here, and was presented with a wonderful opportunity by Dr. Larry Dixon, a local dentist who was retiring after 35 years. This opportunity allowed me to establish my own patient-centered practice, where Ive taken care of patients for the last 23 years.
I am married to Vicki DiLillo, who teaches psychology at Ohio Wesleyan. We have one son, Ben, who attends Dempsey Middle School. We like traveling and spending time outdoors as a family, taking advantage of all Delaware County has to offer. Vicki and I particularly enjoy watching Ben and his teammates play soccer for the Delaware Knights. I feel very fortunate to serve and be a part of this vibrant community.
A number of experiences pointed me towards dental hygiene. I loved having braces and always noticed teeth. I enjoy meticulous work and working with people was a must! I have worked periodically for Dr Batterton since 2002. In 2014, I started working here weekly and keep adding more hours.
Born in Staten Island, New York and moved to Ohio in 1981, I finished growing up in Westerville. I graduated from The Ohio State University in 1994 with a bachelors in Dental Hygiene. This past year, I took a course on giving anesthetic and passed my exam in May. I am now licensed to give injections in the dental office.
My hobbies are quilting, stamping, and anything crafty. Cooking and reading are also a favorite. I have 2 daughters, Natalie and Morgan who both participate in 4-H with pygmy goats. I am forever learning more about this animal and how to keep them from getting out. We also have chickens, rabbits, and cats. No dog, yet!
I applied for the position of receptionist/assistant from the ad Dr. Batterton posted in the Delaware Gazette in October 2001. I was hired for the position and began working November 6, 2001, I was the only employee for the first year and a half at the practice. In August 2006 I was promoted to the office manager. Ive been employed for Dr. Batterton 20 years. I enjoy my job, its amazing to look back through the years at the children we have watched grow up to become young adults and now married and have their own children.
Im originally from Paintsville, Kentucky, where I received my high school diploma. I attended a community college and received 5 different certifications in administrative office and medical office in December 2000.
I enjoy spending time with our family and doing fun things with the grandchildren. We have a 2015 Corvette that we enjoy cruising around in and going to different small towns we havent seen. We have two dogs; one is a Belgian Malinois mix, the other is a Shih Tzu. They are both 14 years old. I love life and I am enjoying it. Enjoy Making Precious Memories with our family and friends.
