At EQ Dental, our goal as a team is to ensure you experience a pleasant visit with every trip to our Fort Worth office. We dedicate ourselves to improving the health, function, and appearance of your smile while assisting you in maintaining good oral hygiene between visits. Dr. Young keeps an office up-to-date with modern technology for efficient visits. We have also selected dental units that utilize only bottled distilled water, rather than tap, so your teeth are exposed to clean water with every treatment and procedure.
Dr. Young has a family of his own and is committed to providing you the same comfortable, thorough care he expects for his own loved ones. By listening to your concerns and using his advanced skills, including an extensive background in oral and restorative surgery, he provides efficient, effective treatments for lifelong oral health. Additionally, he welcomes questions and discussion, as he places a great deal of emphasis on the importance of dental education. He is the type of dentist who, rather than rushing you out of the dental chair, makes time for each of his patients.
Expect individualized care for each member of the family at EQ Dental. Dr. Young feels he has received a gift to be able to provide you with comfort, beautiful smiles, and improved oral health. His goal is always to provide you and your loved ones with dentistry that surpasses your expectations. Through excellence and quality of service, he hopes to guide his patients toward avoiding dental disease through general family dentistry, such as checkups and cleanings. If you have children, our dental sealants and fluoride treatments will protect their developing teeth, while encouraging them to continue good oral hygiene habits. If your teeth are in good health, but you have always wished for a more beautiful smile, choose from among our cosmetic services, like teeth whitening and veneers.
We recognize that some of our patients may have been away from the dentist for an extended period of time. Dr. Young and our team would like to assure you that we have your best interests at heart, and would like you to make a visit regardless of your current oral health. Whether you need restorative services like fillings or root canals, or prosthetics like dentures, bridges or dental implants to replace missing teeth, we are here to make you feel wonderful about your smile. It might not look or feel just the way you want it to today; however, by visiting our caring team and setting up a comprehensive care plan, you can achieve the healthy, beautiful smile you deserve through comfortable, efficient visits at EQ Dental.
Welcome to EQ Dental, my private dental clinic, where I strive to offer the highest possible standard of dental care. I am Dr. Thomas Young and I am delighted to share my life story with you. I hope it motivates everyone to pursue their dream and become the best in their field of specialty.
I consider myself an embodiment of resilience and determination. This is because of my life journey, which has been characterized by hurdles, but because of hard work, I have overcome most of the barriers and pursued my life-long dream of becoming a reputable dentist. Before finding a perfect opportunity to pursue my dream, I worked full-time as a waiter in a restaurant, an HVAC technician, a plumber/ electrician, a driver of an eighteen-wheeler truck for The United States Postal Service. While engaging in these tasks, I had a deep desire to pursue a career that would enable me to interact and serve my community. As a result, I opted to register for higher education. I have had to devote my spare time to advance myself.
My journey began at the heart of Los Angeles, California, which was known for its high-class colleges. Initially, I was undecided on my career path, yet I wanted a career that provided life-long opportunities for learning. I knew I had to be competent in math, science, arts, and interpersonal skills. When I joined the college as a full-time student, I could find time to work as a full-time waiter to nurture interpersonal skills. Through this job, I managed to do what I loved mostputting a smile on the faces of my customers.
I pursued a degree in electronics for two years. However, I realized that I was adept in manual work and that I enjoyed doing work with my hands. At this point, I wanted to venture into a profession that would enable me to apply my critical thinking and analytical skills, while complementing my love for science and people. I harbored the deep desire to apply my manual dexterity in solving complex societal health problems. Only dentistry could give me the satisfaction I wanted. Having made this decision, I committed the rest of my educational career to science. I completed a biology degree in 2003 after I majoring in bachelor of science at the California State University, Northridge. I later joined Indiana-Purdue University under the School of Dentistry and graduated in 2007 with a Doctorate in Dental Surgery. I was so committed in my studies in operative dentistry that I was awarded the Huckleberry Scholarship for Clinical Excellence.
After being awarded the DDS degree, I started giving back to the community. My commitment to serving the community intensified after my doctoral degree. I provided charitable dental care services for five years in community health center. During this time, I served children and adults in low income and disadvantaged communities. Likewise, I accepted an invitation to provide dental services in trauma and emergency units. This presented me with an opportunity to help underserved communities in the Dominican Republic through mission trips and reside for over a month. These experiences were not only humbling but also joyous. When we came back to the USA in 2011, I opened EQ Dental, which is a private dental unit committed to professional excellence, and quality dental treatment at an affordable price range. I engaged in one-on-one sessions with patients. In the process, I bonded with them and guided them through their treatment plans.
Whenever am not working, I spend quality time with my wife, children and fellowship at Gateway Church on Sundays. Additionally, I like reading, riding, and watching comedy and documentary films. In the process, I further my knowledge in other fields. I also attend work-related seminars and conferences to master the latest developments and best practices in dentistry. At the moment, I am learning about treatments for TMJ disorders and the effective management of neuropathic facial pain. I intend to advance my practice and use it to transform more lives in disadvantaged communities. I urge you to join our extended EQ Dental family and materialize this dream.
