As natives of West Texas, Dr. Epperson and his wife, Hollie, have established their home and family in Lubbock. The Eppersons were blessed witha son, Cy, in 2009 a daughter, Lila, in 2010, and later adopted a daughter, Millie, in 2021. Dr. Epperson has passion for life and enjoys an active lifestyle while living for and advancing Gods Kingdom. His favorite pastimes include exercising, being at the lake, and many outdoor activities; backpacking, fishing, and hunting. He and his family are active members of South Plains Church of Christ.
Dr. Epperson is a deeply embedded professional in the dental community, both locally and nationally. He is a member of the South Plains District Dental Society, the Texas Dental Association, the American Dental Association. He is a Fellow of the Academy of General Dentistry, and an Associate Fellow of the American Academy of Implant Dentistry.In 2010 he completed a 300-hour implant training program through the Medical College of Georgia's renowned MAXI Course. He has also trained in restorative dentistry with Spear Education. Dr. Epperson proudly graduated from the Kois Center in 2018, he considers the curriculum from the Kois Center the most transformational post graduate training he has done.
Jordan D Payne was born and raised in Idalou, TX. After graduating from Idalou High School, he attained a Biology degree from Abilene Christian University. Jordan got his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from Texas A&M University Baylor College of Dentistry in Dallas. After working a year in the metroplex, Jordan returned back to the great city of Lubbock and a few months later met his wife, Taylor! Jordan and Taylor are active members at Monterey Church of Christ. He also serves on the Board ofDirectors for the local non-profit, Lubbock Impact. Alongside some other local dentists he volunteersat the Lubbcok Impact Dental Clinic. Jordans hobbies include spending time on the golf course, flying his drone to catch West Texas sunsets, walking his rescue dog-Peanut, and traveling with his wife.
Dr. Jordan Payne enjoys practicing all aspects of dentistry and is passionate about the newest techniques in digital dentistry. He is committed to a life-long learning journey, through continuing education, striving to always provide the best for his patients. He hascompleteda multi-year post-graduate program through Progressive Orthodontics and is proud to offer both traditional braces as well as Invisalign for children andadults.Dr.Payne is currently enrolled in the Kois curriculum in Seatle, WA and attends those courses when his schedule permits. Heloves building relationships with his patients and workingwith the fun team at Epperson Payne Dental Group every day!
Riley B. Payne was born and raised in Idalou, TX where his parents worked as cotton and wheat farmers. Each summer he worked on the farms with his brother, Dr. Jordan Payne. Riley went on to study biology and play basketball at Abilene Christian University, where he met his wife, Bonnie. He received his Doctor of Dental Surgery Degree from Texas A&M Baylor College of Dentistry in Dallas, TX, and his wife attended graduate school for speech language pathology. Riley and Bonnie lived in Asheville, NC following dental school before deciding to move back to Lubbock! Rileys hobbies include fly fishing, fly tying, hiking, basketball, golf and spending time with his Bernese Mountain Dog, Moose!
Dr. John Epperson started our dental practice in 1978 and retired from the practice in June of 2020. Hegrew up on a family farm located in Pampa, TX. After attendingLubbock Christian University, Dr. Eppersongraduated from the University of Texas Dental Branch at the Houston Medical Center.Following dental school, he served as an officer anddentist in the Air Force for three years before settling down in the Lubbock community.

This office was it for me. I don't like going to the dentist for obvious reasons of anxiety. Getting a wisdom tooth extracted today because of the pain and I couldn't of picked a better place and dentist to get the job done. Thank you Epperson Payne Dental Group :)

The best staff!!! I have gone here since I was little and when I was an adult and got my first job I got insurance and went to a different dental office (will not name them) and they did not have good staff and did not do a good job on my teeth. I went back to Epperson Payne Dental because I loved everything about them. Never had a bad experience and always leave there in the best mood. I've always been greeted so sweetly, and I didn't care how much money I had to paid as long as I got to continue going there.

All the staff are super friendly and helpful. We really love the experience there. Our whole family goes and unlike so many other dentist they take the time to talk to you, explaining everything, making sure you are fully satisfied!

Epperson and Payne Dental just made my day ! They got my mom is last minute because she was having tooth pain. The entire team was so helpful and friendly even though I knew they were squeezing her in we never felt like a inconvenience. We would recommend these great doctors to anyone looking for a dental home !

We want to thank Chelsi the hygienist for how well she did with our daughter! We took our young daughter to Parkview because dental work was kind of scary for her but never really had a great experience - not bad but not great - and were having trouble getting in to see the doctors there. Chelsi did so well with our daughter and even with her specific issues (oral aversion and vibratory sensitivity). Our daughter was happy and giggling through the appointment. She also said in the car that she wants to come back here! I am a nurse practitioner so I understand that positive feedback doesn't get received often enough and I want to take time to recognize Chelsi.

Of all the dentists I've been to, Epperson is by far the best! The staff are friendly, very knowledgeable in what they do, wonderful to chit chat with and Dr. Payne is not only easy on the eyes, but he's very knowledgeable, a true professional and genuinely kind. The customer service is excellent, and I've already recommended friends of mine whom they themselves have expressed what a great experience they've had already! Might I add, the gift they hand out to first timers, is precious!

The Epperson Payne Group was nothing short of amazing from start to finish. I can truly say that each staff member went above and beyond to make me feel comfortable. I looked forward to going into the office for each step of my procedure to see and visit with all the friendly and authentic personnel. Dr. Epperson was kind, patient, meticulous, witty and a great conversationalist. He is an OUTSTANDING dentist and has created an incredible work environment. Ceri is a special person and takes extreme care of my dental issues. I would recommend Ceri and Dr Payne do all your dental work. Dr Epperson recently put an implant in for me. I cannot tell you how well and pain free this procedure was. He is amazing.

This is worst treatment I have encountered in the 10 years I have taken to finish my PhD and recover from a traumatic brain injury. It all started on the 08/05, where I went in for my dental check up. I was asked to have a X-ray by Dr. Payne. The X-ray showed that I had a couple of cavities and a root canal; I was charged 222$ for this visit because I didn't have dental insurance. The doctor prescribed Ammoxylin and gave me a appointment for the 19th to do the root canal. After I started taking the prescription I began having diarrhea. When I brought this to the doctor's attention he asked me come in on the 08/10 in between the initial visit and this visit; I had enrolled in a dental insurance program. On 08/10 I had enrolled in a dental insurance program; the receptionist at Epperson dental was checking my insurance. In between the receptionist checking my insurance the doctor performed a partial finish of my root canal, I was then told by the receptionist that my insurance was not accepted and I was charged 1219$ for the service Epperson dental had provided. I had to go see Dr. Payne again on 10/05 for Dr. Payne to the root canal procedure; in between him finishing a partial finish of the root canal procedure I mentioned how the treatment I had encountered at Epperson dental service wasn't reasonable, to which the Dr. Payne responded by mentioning that he had hard time understanding me; he probably doesn't know that I have presented my PhD work in front 49 people, who I assume that understood my PhD work. So I would rate the 1441$ spent, as the worst expenditure I have made. Please try not using the service provided by Dr. Payne. I would also like to highlight that 8 months after the initial prescription of Ammoxylin, I now have to get a colonoscopy done because the troubled bowel movements that been happening. Dentists responsibility does not end with tooth care.
