One of our most technologically advanced dental instruments is the cone beam scanner. This technology is a special X-ray that allows us to get an inside look at your dental structure and bone. Its cone shape allows us to get a more complete picture of your mouth compared to traditional X-rays. The images it provides are especially important with advanced restorations like dental implants because we can map out the healthiest areas on the bone, increasing the success of treatment.
Every member of the EPO Dental Specialists team feels they have an obligation to do their part to make our local and global communities safe, happy, and healthy places for our patients, friends, and neighbors to call home. We are proud sponsors and participants with a number of local and global charitable organizations and events, and we partner with school and community groups to provide dental education. Our team loves providing educational programming for local schools, and we do our utmost to offer support for academic, artistic, and athletic programming for youth in our community. We also work with New Beginnings Center in Garland and the Hopes Door New Beginnings Center in Plano. These local groups provide intervention, protection, and support for families affected by domestic violence.

Dr. Ortiz pursued his D.M.D. degree with honors at the University of Puerto Rico where he was born and raised. During his dental training, he participated in different research projects at the dental school in conjunction with Boston University in 2003. He was a member of several dental school associations as well as the president of the student council for the UPR School of Dental Medicine prior to obtaining his dental degree.
After obtaining his dental degree, Dr. Ortiz moved to Boston, Massachusetts to continue his residency training at Tufts University where he completed his General Practice Residency in 2007. The main focus of his training was with patients with special needs and patients who were medically compromised. After finishing his General Practice Residency, Dr. Ortiz completed his Endodontic specialty training at Boston University Goldman School of Dental Medicine with a Masters of Science in dentistry. During his endodontic specialty residency program, Dr. Ortiz acquired knowledge in complex root canal treatments, root canal retreatments, trauma treatment, and endodontic surgery using the latest technology including a surgical microscope.
Dr. Ortiz is an active member of the American Academy of Endodontic, American Dental Association, and Massachusetts Dental Association. Currently, Dr. Ortiz is board eligible from the American Board of Endodontics.
Dr. Vazquez obtained a certificate in advanced graduate studies in General Practice Residency at Tufts University School of Dental Medicine in 2006 where she concentrated her training in special needs and medically compromised patients. In June 2009, she completed her residency in Periodontics at Boston University and her Masters Degree in oral biology, which was focused in inflammatory processes. During her periodontology residency, she refined her skills in periodontal procedures including cosmetic surgeries and implant placements.
Dr. Vazquez is an active member of The American Academy of Periodontology, American Dental Association, and Texas Dental Association, among others. In 2010, the American Board of Periodontology bestowed on Dr. Vazquez the title of diplomate of this prestigious organization.

I have had so many poor experiences at the dentist, but not this time! I was so scared to get a root canal. The dentist listened when I needed more local anesthetic which made me feel listened and cared for. The dental assistant was consistently asking me if I was doing okay and checking in to see what I needed to ease my anxiety. Thankful for their help!!!!

BEWARE *** Do not come here. This specialist charges for a CT scan that he doesn't need to have done when he performs the same procedure at my dental office. This is highway robbery and not necessary except for in his office which means that it does not need to be done.

Dr. Ortiz its very professional and explains everything with details and what the treatment will be he shows results and the staff are very professional and polite in this past 2 year of my son treatment we just had a miscommunication with a person on front desk but got solved with out issue other than that if you are looking for a professional this is the right place to come ,professional and affordable you wont regret if you need a tranfer for any reason just in case the you are moving far away from the clinic they help you out to find a professional near to you area that way you can continue with the treatment im very happy with my son results and all The service provided. I've been living in Dallas for 18 years and always had trouble finding a good dentist until I went to Dr.Vazquez's and Dr.Ortiz's office. I am so glad I finally found someone I can trust. Dr.Ortiz office is very professional and his office staff is friendly. If you're going to pay cash for your procedure bring exact cash because they don't have change. That's about my only complaint but my overall experience was great!
