Dr. Hicks received his Bachelor of Arts degree at the University of Tennessee in Knoxville and his Doctor of Dental Surgery and Master of Dental Science degrees at the University of Tennessee in Memphis. Dr. Hicks strives to meet and exceed the standards of orthodontics by attending seminars and local study clubs. He is currently a member of the American Association of Orthodontists, Southern Association of Orthodontists, Tennessee Association of Orthodontists, American Dental Association, Tennessee Dental Association, and the Second District Dental Society in which he is a member of the executive board.
Dr. Hicks has been practicing in Farragut since 2002 and extended his practice into Lenoir City in 2013. He is an active resident of the Farragut community and enjoys seeing his patients and their EPIC smiles when out and about in Farragut. Dr. Hicks and his wife Kimberly, a pediatrician, are active members, mentors, and leaders at Two Rivers Church. They have 2 sons, Griffin and Braden, whom they are very proud of. Griffin is pursuing a career in physical therapy while living in Colorado and Braden stays busy as a cheerleader for the University of Tennessee.
When hes not providing smiles for his community, Dr. Hicks enjoys pursuing epic adventures in his personal life. His passion outside of orthodontics is swimming, biking, and running. You can find Dr. Hicks always training for the next race.
Dr. Hicks is a competitive triathlete who enjoys competing in IronMan competitions. These competitions are races made up of consecutive long-distance swimming, cycling, and running. Dr.Hicks has competed in IronMan competitions locally, nationally, and internationally. To date, he has competed in 9 Full IronMan events and 26 Half IronMans. He has qualified and competed in Ironman World Championships in the U.S. and overseas including the World Championship in Kona, Hawaii. Dr. Hicks has also run in a lot of marathons, including the Boston Marathon. Dr. Hicks has no plans of stopping as he has another full year of racing ahead of him.
Dr. Carli Loss received her Bachelor of Science degree at High Point University in High Point, North Carolina, Doctor of Dental Surgery at the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill, and a Master of Science degree and orthodontic certificate at the University of Kentucky in Lexington. She is passionate about helping her patients obtain their best smile, through dental health and orthodontics. Dr. Loss is Board Certified by the American Board of Orthodontics and is currently a member of the American Association of Orthodontists, Southern Association of Orthodontists, Tennessee Association of Orthodontists, American Dental Association, Tennessee Dental Association, and the Second District Dental Society.
Dr. Loss and her husband, Justin, a Doctor of Physical Therapy, were married, in May of 2017. They both have a love for being active and spending quality time with family members and dear friends. They are excited to call Knoxville their home and build a community reflecting their passions and favorite pastimes. Including, but certainly not limited to, training for races or triathlons, exploring local businesses, enriching their faith, and discovering the best kept secret locations for a time-lapse of sunrise.

It's been rather disappointing for the money we have spent for two children to have braces. Brackets fall off often, our boys have had their braces on for far too long. They've made us wait in the waiting room for over 45 minutes. Just very disappointing. I would definitely not recommend them.

We've just started the whole braces experience with our 10 year old. I can't say enough great things about Epic Ortho. They are professional, thorough, and genuine. Everyone there is super nice and helpful. We love it!!

I have a 9 year old daughter/Granddaughter. We have been with the Hicks team for over a year now, I was impressed with the way they handled her and the way they treated us both. They always keep you informed and are on top of their game. I don't normally write reviews but, on June 23 My little girl had an appointment and we were short staffed at work and her Paw had to step in and take her to the appointment. When I got home and asked her how her visit was she said they had to put gooey stuff in her mouth that made her choke and she was scared. She said one of the nice ladies came over and held her hand. My heart was was in my throat, one I wasn't there but most of all these people took care of my girl and helped her to be brave. I will be forever grateful. If you need someone to help you or your child, this is the place. Most offices would have rescheduled. They take the extra time and care which is lacking in most places today. Thank You Epic and the Hicks Team!

So happy with my teeth and the staff at hicks ortho. They pay attention to detail and your concerns. The girls are super friendly and cute. Betsy went out of her way to speedily make me a retainer the day I got my braces off, because I would be leaving the country the day after. They really care about the individual and cater to your needs/concerns. Ashton, Mariah, and Elise are so helpful and have good energy. Would recommend to a friend! <3

My older son has special needs, and he started seeing Dr. Hicks 3 1/2 years ago. It's been so long because his teeth were especially difficult to move, plus he's had a couple surgeries in that time as well. He says Dr. Hicks is such a cool guy, and he loves all the girls in the office, particularly Paige and Heather! Everyone has been so patient and wonderful with him. He got his braces off today and fortunately his brother will be getting his second phase on soon, so he'll be able to visit when we go to those appointments!
