Dr. Derek Nordeen is a graduate of the University of Iowa College of Dentistry where he received his D.D.S. degree in 1998. The following year, he completed a General Practice Residency in Burlington, Vermont. He then completed two years of specialty training in Endodontics at Nova Southeastern University in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. Since his training, he has completed the board certification process and is a Diplomate of the American Board of Endodontics. Dr. Nordeen is also a Fellow in the International College of Dentists.
Dr. Nordeen has practiced endodontics in the LaCrosse area full-time since 2001 at Endodontic Specialists of LaCrosse. Dr. Nordeen has brought to his practice the latest techniques of root canal therapy and the most advanced knowledge in the field of endodontics. Dr. Nordeen is a previous recipient of the Dows Institute Research Award as well as the Deans Leadership Award at the University of Iowa. He is active in both local and national dental organizations. His work has been published and he has presented his work nationally to other endodontic and dental specialists.
Dr. Derek Nordeen is a La Crosse native having graduated from La Crosse Logan High School in 1990 where he was a competitive swimmer and member of the National Honor Society. In his free time, he enjoys snowboarding, biking, watersports and spending time with his family.

He was a recipient of an Air Force Health Profession Scholarship Progam during dental school, and following graduation entered active duty service where he completed a one year Advanced Education in General Dentistry Residency at Eglin Air Force Base, Fort Walton Beach FL. Dr. Jespersen then moved to Minot Air Force Base, Minot ND where he practiced general dentistry for 3 years before returning to the University of Iowa to complete a 2 year specialty program in Endodontics.
Dr. Jespersen is active in the American Association of Endodontists, including having served as a committee member and contributing to AAE publications. He has been a presenter at both local and national dental meetings, and is a Diplomate of the American Board of Endodontics.
Dr. Jespersen is from Rock Valley, Iowa where his father is a practicing general dentist. He was valedictorian of his high school class, graduated Suma Cum Laude, and was a member of Phi Beta Kappa at Luther College in Decorah, IA. In his free time, he enjoys running, biking and spending time with his family and friends.

He was awarded membership into Omicron Kappa Upsilon National Dental Honor Society while attending Nova Southeastern University. Following dental school Dr. Young practiced in a private dental office in Colorado for 9 years. He then completed 26 months of specialty training in Endodontics at the University of Washington in Seattle, WA.
Dr. Young is a current member of the American Association of Endodontists. He has presented at the local and national dental meeting while in his Endodontic residency. In 2020, he completed his three-step board certification process to become a Diplomate of the American Board of Endodontists.
