A New Orleans native, Dr. Garrett B. Morris graduated from Jesuit High School in 1989. He completed his undergraduate degree in 1993, at Holy Cross College in Worcester, Massachusetts, then returned to Louisiana for dental school.
In 1999, Dr. Morris graduated with his Doctorate of Dental Surgery from Louisiana State University School of Dentistry. He remained at LSU to complete his endodontic residency and Master of Science in oral biology in 2002.
Endodontics, like all areas of oral healthcare, is a constantly changing specialty. Research leads to new methodologies, treatment planning, and technologies, all of which improve diagnostics, procedures, and results.
Throughout the year, Dr. Morris completes many hours of continuing professional education, to keepcurrent on the latest advances. He is an active member of the American Association of Endodontists, as well as a regular participant in the F. Harold Wirth Study Club.
Beyond his extensive clinical training and experience, Dr. Morris is a skilled and compassionate clinician. He takes time to explain clearly what will happen during a procedure and answer a patients questions fully before starting treatment.
During the procedure, Dr. Morris constantly checks on the patients comfort level and works efficiently without compromising on quality. Once finished, he reviews the post-op information and ensures his patient is confident in and comfortable with the procedure and level of care provided.
When hes not saving teeth and alleviating pain, Dr. Morris is most often found with his wife, Dr. Andra Ponson, at their home in Lakeview. He prioritizes time with family, including his three children Meghan, Hayden, and Clayton along with good friends.
I am glad to be involved with our patients from the first phone call until their treatment is complete. Its fulfilling to be part of a practice that ensures every patient feels comfortable and receives the excellent care he or she deserves.
In short, I do everything I can to ensure our patients and staff are well cared for. Dr. Morris is the best, by far, in this field, and so is our team. We all strive to give our patients the care and kindness we want for ourselves and our family members.
My husband and I have one son and are hoping for more one day. We both come from large families I am one of six kids and hes one of five so gatherings are always happening. I love traveling, outdoor activities, and anything involving friends and family.
Beyond loving my work, I adore my husband Hector and our daughter Kelly. We love to travel and have been all over the world: five continents and counting! I also love going to the theater and especially love watching my daughter perform.
I like helping our patients understand the procedure beforehand and easing their fears and worries. I love assisting patients with saving their teeth and knowing they will feel better when they leave the office.
I started working in the dental field in 2011 and am certified for expanded duty dental assisting from LSU School of Dentistry. I have worked with Dr. Morris since 2014, offering patient care and chairside assistance. I also order our dental supplies and maintain our lab and operatory equipment. Dr. Morris is the best at what he does and up-front with our patients. He and our team have the same mindset: patient care is our top priority.
I enjoy helping comfort patients with dental anxiety, or those in extreme discomfort. Dr. Morris is efficient, kind, and gentle: always explaining what will happen and making sure our patient is comfortable. That makes it easy for me to reassure everyone that they will be okay.
I have worked in the dental field since 2012 and joined Endodontic Specialists in 2017, to provide chairside assistance during various procedures. Our team is knowledgeable, considerate, and caring. We, and Dr. Morris, want everyone to feel safe and comfortable during their root canals.
Outside of work, I take my dog Atticus to the lake every day. I love trying new restaurants, my weekly girls dinner, and trying new recipes. I also love to travel. In the past Ive mostly visited tropical locations and now Im working on seeing more rain forests and mountains.

I had some very annoying scheduling needs for a tooth that needed a root canal re-treatment in between trips. They were able to work with my schedule and see me very quickly, and the staff was very proactive in tracking down my referral records from an out of town office. They even called specifically to let me know they were still working on it when there were delays on the other end so I wouldn't be concerned. Dr. Morris was great. He explained the process and options effectively, and walked me through my scans even where they weren't related to my immediate need. The procedure was smooth and pain free, and he was able to work around an issue caused by a problem with my initial treatment. I'd definitely recommend them if you have need for a specialist.

Dr. Morris and his office handled my dental emergency both timely and professionally. I was in some pain and learned of an abscess tooth that ultimately needed a root canal. Dr. Morris and his assistant Amanda were both efficient and gentle during the procedure. Within several hours of the procedure I felt considerable relief. I would recommend Dr. Morris to anyone seeking Endodontic care in the greater New Orleans market. Thank you for the great care.

The overall experience was pretty hands down amazing. After visiting my normal dentist about a root canal that they performed months ago, with intense pain and swelling. They told me I had to see a specialist. The one they referred was booked until middle of next month. I am frantically making phone calls to various places around town. These guys and gals were able to get me in the same day @ 5:15pm! This place was like a hidden oasis. From the way the place is decorated, to the friendliness of the front end staff, to the Dr and assistant in the back, everyone was a pleasure to deal with. They took an overwhelming and stressful situation and were able to turn it into a joyful sense of relief. Thank you to the entire staff!

It was such an awesome experience! All health care facility should be like this place. High -tech equipment, clean and cozy office, friendly and helpful staff. Dr Morris and Ms. Amanda explained everything to me before and after the procedure. Would definitely recommend them!

I am terrified of anything dental or endodontics related. I usually go into a panic attack and start sobbing before the procedure even begins. Dr. Grace Coburn was AMAZING! Not only was she knowledgeable and completely transparent with how the procedure would work, but she and her staff took great care with me, knowing my fears. She was gentle and the procedure was virtually painless. I have never had a better dental experience in my life. She is the only endodontist I will see if I need another procedure, as well as recommend her to others. Thank you so much!!

Let me start by saying I was terrified to get my root canal. I called crying asking for an emergency appointment & down to the receptionist they were so sweet and patient with me. I was crying and in pain & they did everything to make sure I was comfortable. Dr Grace Coburn was so sweet and knowledgeable, answered all my questions & even called me this next day to make sure I was okay. The next day i had NO PAIN soreness which is expected. Worth every penny.

This man is masterful at his craft. He saved 2 of my teeth that were troublesome. I went to grammar school with Garrett and competed against him throughout our athletic days. We went at it back in the day but this man is the best at what he does. Thanks Garrett

I had a root canal procedure with Dr. Morris, and unfortunately, it was not a success. The tooth remained infected and the infection quickly spread to the neighboring tooth. For weeks, my GD believed the pain was caused by my new crown, however, the moment I began suffering unquestionable symptoms of root canal failure, I was advised to return to Dr. Morris "as soon as possible," which I did. During the visit, Dr. Morris offered several options to remedy my failed root canal and infected teeth. I choose one of his options for treatment and booked the procedure. However, the more I dwelled on the treatment options, the more uncertain I became about my choice, and I decided to seek a second opinion to confirm I had made the best decision. The next day, I called his office and informed Dr. Morris' team that I would keep my procedure date so that he could address the issue at hand, however, if my second opinion could make a strong argument for a different treatment option, I would ask Dr, Morris to proceed otherwise.The following was his response: "Effective immediately," "Dr. Morris will no longer treat you as a patient, because you are seeking a second opinion and this indicates you no longer have faith in him." Also, "This is a small field, and many of these endodontists are good friends. After you leave your second opinion, Dr. Morris will most likely get a call from whomever you've seen- and he'll know what transpired " The above was delivered to me, on Dr. Morris' behalf by Jennifer Perry, Dr. Morris' office manager. He never spoke with me personally; it was quite dehumanizing. For context, I am a returning patient of fourteen years, who has never once disagreed with Dr. Morris, spoken unkindly with him, questioned his talents, or missed an appointment. I can write with complete confidence, that until this moment, we had enjoyed an excellent provider/patient relationship, and it was indeed unsettling to be completely disconnected from the physician who had recently performed the procedure that was now causing unbearable discomfort and abnormal symptoms. Additionally, no faith was ever lost in Dr. Morris' abilities; in fact, everything I said and did during this time renders that claim fallacious. Moreover, a physician that terminates a patient based on a "lack of faith" argument is disingenuous. The medical professional who makes this statement assumes he is infallible, godlike and perfect, and truly, that type of behavior no longer has a place in modern medicine; it has been long replaced by healthy, cooperative, physician/ patient partnerships. I want others in the community to know that there is value in consulting with more than one specialist when making tough choices. Informing oneself thoroughly, leaves no room for regret. Second opinions are wise and are encouraged by The American Medical Association and The American Dental Association. In fact, the ADA's policy on second opinions is located in their Principals of Ethics and Code of Conduct. Providers who punish their patients for seeking second opinions are both derelict in their duty to promote best possible outcomes and are unethical for dissuading patient's from seeking out alternative medical advice and/or opinions. How devastating the consequences for the patient who does not seek a second opinion because of the fear they associate with a past provider termination. Imagine the devastation a poor outcome or a missed diagnosis would have on one's health for skipping the second opinion. Imagine this happening to your parent or your grandparent because he/she is afraid they may lose their provider when they need them most. Indeed, only a real cad could turn a sound medical practice into a gaslight. A compassionate, trustworthy doctor will never behave like this-not even close. .

I have been a patient of Dr. Harris' for 12 months. He was treating me for Osteonecrosis of the jaw caused by medication I have been taking for bone cancer. His "not too aggressive" approach seemed to me, in the beginning, to be a little too much. When something goes wrong you want it fixed asap. Well, the Dr. is always right! Without surgery the doctor not only was able to remove the bone but the tissue healing was well underway. I spent over 30 days at the National Institutes of Health in Maryland going through clinical trials and classes educating myself, not only on the trials, but on health in general and I was able to learn more in my visited with Dr. Harris than my 30 days at the NIH! The staff is one of the best I have been around. This is my first review for a Doctor or hospital but I was compelled to let everyone know that Dr. Harris and his staff are the best!
