Melamed, Tawady,and Mullally, Reece lead an exceptional, experienced dental team. For your convenience, the doctors split their time between two locations, one in Lutherville, MD and one in Bel Air, MD. Both offices are equipped with cutting edge technology, including surgical microscopes and digital radiology.
All of our doctors are graduates of University of Maryland School of Dental Surgery. While there, they not only practiced dentistry and endodontics, but also conducted clinical research studies, contributing to the advances in the field. Each doctor has completed 2+ years of additional endodontic training and is recognized by the dental board as a dental specialist in the field of endodontics.
Our practice was one of the first endodontic specialiststeams in Baltimore Maryland, established over 30 years ago. In that time we have developed meaningful and strong relationships within the network of the local dentists. The line of communication between your referring dentist and our office stays open, facilitating a seamless transition through your endodontic therapy and back to your general practitioner for follow up care.
Dr. Judy Melamed Was born in Lithuania, moving to the suburbs of Baltimore at a young age. She graduated Franklin High School with honors and moved on to study Biology at the University of Maryland. While there, she explored her interest in infectious diseases working on an NIH sponsored research grant. Studying the Moloney Murine Leukemia Virus and Human Immunodeficiency Virus.
After graduating Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science in Biology, Dr. Melamed attended University of Maryland, Baltimore College of Dental Surgery. She graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Doctor of Dental Surgery degree in 2005, and started her postgraduate training in endodontics that same year.
During her time in postgraduate training, Dr. Melamed spent time studying the effects of inflammation on neuron receptor plasticity in the dental pulp. In 2007 she received her Certificate in Postgraduate Endodontics and joined Endodontic Partners of Baltimore.
Since, she has been voted Baltimores Best Endodontist by a panel of local dentists a number of times. She continues to practice full time, splitting her time between the Bel Air and Lutherville offices.
Dr. Tontesh Tawady graduated from The University of Maryland Baltimore County with a Bachelor of Science in Biology. He received his dental degree from the University of Maryland, School of Dentistry in 2012 and completed a general practice residency at the Philadelphia Veterans Affairs Medical Center.
In 2016, Dr. Tawady completed a three-year endodontic residency at the University of Maryland Post-Graduate Endodontic Program with a masters degree. While at the University of Maryland, he pursued research in endodontic healing and its relationship to Diabetes, and was awarded an American Association of Endodontics grant. This research led to a top resident award at the 2015 AAE National Conference. Dr. Tawady was also awarded the Tony Ponti Memorial Scholarship, which is given to the resident who demonstrated consistent excellence in the field of clinical endodontics.
Dr. John Mullally originates from Michigan where he graduated from Hope College in 1989 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology. There he was selected as a member of Alpha Epsilon Delta, the pre-health professional honor society.
His return to America had him entering the University of Maryland, Baltimore College of Dental Surgery, graduating in 1996. Here Dr. Mullally was elected to be a member of the Gorgas Odontological Honor Society. Dr. Mullally was also the recipient of a US Navy Health Professions Scholarship.
In 1996 Dr. Mullally completed a one-year General Practice Residency at the US Naval Hospital in Bethesda MD. With the increased knowledge in surgical skills, dental emergency, and treatment of medically compromised patients, he was stationed at Naval Support Activity Bahrain in the Persian Gulf for a 3-year tour.
In 2000 after completing his Naval Service Dr. Mullally again returned to the University of Maryland, Baltimore College of Dental Surgery to obtain his certificate in Postgraduate Endodontics and has been in private practice in Endodontics in Maryland and Michigan since graduation in 2002.
