We aim to be the most technologically advanced endodontic specialty practice in the Lowcountry.
Dr. Chris Carter was born and raised in Greenville. A graduate of Greenville High School, he attended Clemson University for his undergraduate degree and went on to earn his Doctor of Dental Medicine at the Medical University of South Carolina. Before specialization in Endodontics, Dr. Carter expanded his knowledge and scope of general dentistry by completing a general practice residency at Palmetto Health Richland in Columbia, SC. Dr. Carter then returned to the Medical University of South Carolina for Endodontic Residency where he earned his certificate in Endodontics as well as his Masters of Science in Dentistry.During his residency, Dr. Carter received extensive training on the use of Cone Beam Computed Tomography (CBCT) in Endodontics, and also completed research dealing with various root canal filling techniques.
Dr. Carter is a Board Certified Endodontist by the American Board of Endodontics (Diplomate). This distinction is the highest academic and professional honor achievable for the specialty of Endodontics. Achieving the status of 'Diplomate' in the American Board of Endodontics only comes after rigorous testing and critique of a specialist 's knowledge and work in the field, and doing so takes hundreds of hours of additional time and effort on top of completion of one 's specialty residency. Achieving this honor is a testament to the calling Dr. Carter has to provide only the highest quality of care for his patients.
Dr. Carter feels privileged to volunteer his time to provide dental care to the underserved both locally and abroad. He enjoys traveling with Dental Community Fellowship on international missions trips to countries such as Ecuador, Honduras, Haiti, and Burundi. Locally, Dr. Carter serves at Our Lady of Mercy free dental clinic on John's Island, and in state-wide events such as Dental Access Day.

Dr. Carter and his team were as professional and helpful as could be and made for a quick and painless experience. Will definitely be returning here if the unfortune need of a root canal arises and recommend that anyone else do the same!

This was my very first root canal and I was terrified to say the least. Dr. Carter and the technician put my mind to ease right away. The procedure was almost painless and provided instant relief. I will definitely use Dr. Carter for any further root canals.

Everyone was very friendly and professional. I was very nervous about getting a root canal at first but Dr. Chandler thoroughly explained the procedure which helped. The whole procedure was painless and fast. They did an excellent job! I highly recommend everyone to Endodontic Associate of Charleston.

This is my first review of a dental practice, ever. And I have been to the best in NY/LA/Dallas. Amazing experience. I would send ANYONE to see Dr. Carter. Mary and Lacee are incredibly kind, patient and helpful. Dr. Carter is a consummate professional, honest and almost overly knowledgeable. If you need an Endodontist, pick this practice. I went in scared to death and walked out smiling, no pun. They are top notch, and go out of their way to make your visit efficient, pain free and easy. They help with other appointments outside the practice and just "care."

Amazing service! I can not say enough about my experience with Dr. Chandler & Chloe. They both were warm and very detailed. If any of my friends or family have an issue and need an Endodontis I will 100% recommend Dr. Chandler. I was even able to speak to Dr. Chandler over the weekend when I was having an issue. Also, I am forgetting the young lady's name who is the office manager (sorry), but she was very helpful with scheduling, insurance questions and made me laugh everytime I am at the office!!!! Thank you for your help!!!! Great team at this office

Dr. Carter is not only pleasant, witty and charming, he is extremely competent. He was very helpful in defining my options and answering my questions. My procedure was a difficult one, but was performed quickly and painlessly while he softly whistled. I have no hesitancy in recommending him, and his helpful and courteous staff, in the highest terms.

Dr. Carter is phenomenal - caring, reassuring, and very skilled at what he does. I've had at least 8 root canals done by other excellent specialists, but I can honestly say my experience with Dr. Carter yesterday was the absolute best. The techniques he uses make the procedure as smooth and pain-free as possible. Plus, he called me last night to check up on how I was doing. Impressive! I'm very happy my dentist referred me to this wonderful office.

I had an appointment with Dr. Carter today at 11am. I ran a little late, but they were understanding. He assured me throughout the whole process that he he's going to take care of me! That was such a relief. He made me so comfortable! This was one of the best experiences I've ever had! Here's the kicker! At 8:13 tonight he called to check on me! He asked if I was feeling any pain (I'm not)! Not his assistant, not his receptionist, Dr. Carter called! I never had anyone do that. I would recommended this dentist to any and everyone especially if Customer service is your priority! Thanks again Dr. Carter!
