Somepeople believe root canal treatment is not needed for children, but this is not always the case. Children may suffer from infected or injured pulp and decayed teeth at a young age, and the teeth need to be saved. Endodontic treatment for both primary and permanent teeth is available for children.
If the infected tooth is a primary tooth, it will eventually fall out and make way for the permanent tooth; however, it is still a tooth that serves an important purpose in the development of your childs oral cavity. If your child loses a tooth prematurely, they could suffer from eating and speaking disabilities in the future. The primary teeth are also very important aspects of oral cavity growth because they guide the permanent teeth into place. Without the primary teeth, the permanent teeth may grow in at crooked or misaligned angles, which may also result in severecrowding in the mouth. Further measures will be taken if your child does indeed lose their tooth, but in most cases, Dr. Stella M. Carollo will recommendsaving your childs toothwith endodontic treatment.
There are two main types of endodontic treatment available for children with infected or injured dental pulp: apexogenesisand apexification. In apexogenesis, we remove the pulp from the crown of the tooth but not from the root. With apexification, the pulp is removed from both the crown and the root. Our experienced endodontist will help you determine which type of treatment your child needs.

Nice area, amicable staff and great Dentist, Dr. Carolla is amazing and very gentle, i had a root canal done and she was as patient and gentle as possible i had no pain during the procedure i was amazed knowing i have always had a fear of previous Dentist and Dental work but overall it was an amazing experience i would highly recommended this Dental Office.

The is the 2nd time I have been there. I went in for 2 root canals, one of which was on a broken tooth. She did them both on same day and was able to save the broken tooth. The staff along with Dr. Carollo are great and would highly recommend if you need a root canal or any of the other services she offers!

Dr Stella and her assistant were very very patient with me because I kept needing more numbing meds. I am deathly afraid of dentists and they both made my visit no so stressful with their bedside manner. Very professional and caring. Will definitely recommend.

This was my first visit with Dr. Carollo. I called and was given an appointment the next day. My main concern was not losing my tooth. Dr.Corolla assured me she would do everything to save it and she did. The procedure was completely painless. I actually felt comfortable during the procedure.
