Dr. Karn graduated at the top of his class from the prestigious Tufts School of Dental Medicine in Boston, Massachusetts. He has received numerous awards including the International College of Dentistry Award for Achievement and the Tufts University Dental Alumni Association Award for clinical proficiency. His intense commitment to continuing professional education keeps him at the leading edge of dental technology including cosmetic dentistry, dental implants, neuromuscular dentistry, and advanced perio-hygiene therapy. In recent years, he has received extensive training at the prestigious Las Vegas Institute for Advanced Dental Studies, which is internationally known for its progressive and modern approach to cosmetic dentistry and oral health. He has also been voted Top Dentist by his peers for 13 consecutive years commencing in 2007 and is a life member of the American Dental Association. His other professional memberships include the Pierre Fauchard Academy (a national dental honor organization), the Nevada Dental Association, and the Southern Nevada DentalAssociation.

Dr. Karn attended high school in Las Vegas, returning to the area from dental school in 1979. Married for over forty years, he and his wife have two children and five grandchildren. He is an avid outdoorenthusiast.
