Dr. Lilia Martinez Cyr is a 12th generation Texan and her hometown is McAllen, TX. She graduated from the Texas Academy of Mathematics and Science at the University of North TX (Denton). She received her B.S. in Biology (Magna Cum Laude) from UT San Antonio and received her DDS from the UT Health Science Center in San Antonio with Distinctive Honors in Research.
Dr. Cyr was selected by the American Association of Oral Biologists to receive the Research in Oral Biology Award (2010) for her significant contribution to research in tooth development and the American Academy of Oral Medicine Award for 2010. She is a member of the ADA, TDA, San Antonio District Dental Society, the Academy of General Dentistry, the American Orthodontic Society, and the Academy of GP Orthodontics.
Dr. Cyr is also an Associate Fellow of the Academy of GP Orthodontics, having completed over 200 hours of continuing education in orthodontics. Dr. Cyr cares deeply about her community and has actively volunteered for San Antonio's Give Kids a Smile (GKAS) program and other community projects.

Dr. Cyr is always so kind and remembers who I am when I visit her office. It's nice to know she will take care of my teeth and have a kind demeanor at the same time. I got a filling today (first cavity ever for me) and she walked me through the whole thing so easily. I don't even live in San Antonio, but I travel 3.5 hours because I know I can trust her. Also, her team up front is amazing and worked hard to make sure they could take my new insurance. They didn't want to let me go with a sore tooth! I appreciate their genuine care and support. All in all, this is a great place to go if you need dental care. They care about you as a person and for your teeth!

I ended up being in a situation where I went to four dentists before Dr. Cyr, and was flabbergasted when I noticed how different their proposed treatment plans were. They all wanted to do a number of fillings. Some wanted to do multiple crowns. One wanted to remove my wisdom teeth, even though he admitted they were in straight and had enough room, simply because "it's hard to keep them clean, so they'll just get cavities." The thing was, they wanted to treat different teeth - all those treatment plans rarely agreed on which teeth they wanted to work on. In other words, I had an extremely strong suspicion they were all making up problems to give them a reason to drill and bill. Dr. Cyr is different. I think when I went to her, she found one cavity and a cracked filling. She took pictures and I was able to actually see for myself that there was a real problem (the other dentists either didn't take pictures, or showed pictures that displayed no obvious problem - I had assumed I just didn't see the problem because I wasn't a dentist). Dr. Cyr has taken great care of me in the time I've been seeing her, and she is actually honest. Highly recommended.
