Encino Cosmetic & Dental Implants is a Encino based family dentist practice that treats patients of all ages. Dr. Shahin Bina majored in biochemistry during his undergraduate studies, researching in surgery (kidney transplants) at SUNY Health Care Center, Department of Surgery, and researching in Dentistry at the Department of Oral Biology and Pathology. Dr. Bina attended dental school in Stony Brook, NY, and graduated in 1994. During college, he was a recipient of the Presidents Undergraduate Excellence Award from the universitys president.
Dr. Bina has received advanced training through his General Practice Residency at New York Hospital, which is affiliated with Cornell University and has served as a member of the faculty for Comprehensive Care and Applied Practice Administration at the NYU School of Dental Medicine. Dr. Bina continues to advance his education each year, taking courses beyond what is required by the state in order to stay at the forefront of dentistry. He has founded the Bina Dental Institute where he offers continuing education courses to dentists wanting to learn from his expertise in the field of dental surgery, dental implants, and various other topics.
Dr. Bina has practiced for over 25 years in southern California, performing surgical procedures, implant dentistry and root canals for over 30 offices in Los Angeles. He has practiced in his current location since 2014. His extensive experience has given him unique training and perspective and enables him to see each case through the eyes of four different fields of dental specialty. As a result, he has been able to help dentists find better diagnoses of dental issues and is often the person that other dental professionals call to consult.
Dr. Bina is a third-generation dentist. As a dentist, he wants to follow in the footsteps of his father and grandfather and be not only his patients dentist but also their friend. Dr. Binas great grandfather was a physician of the Royal Family in Iran, and had a hospital named after him by King Reza Pahlavi for his services.
Dr. Binas goal is to provide the best possible diagnosis and treatment and to ensure that his patients receive the highest quality of care. He seeks to provide alternative treatment modalities and challenges himself by thinking outside the box. He finds it immensely satisfying to develop treatment plans for his patients that no other dentist can provide, and wants to increase public awareness about issues related to dentistry.
Dr. Bina and his wife have two children. Their daughter is studying at Syracuse University, majoring in Communications, and their son is a senior in high school (and may want to become a dentist, too!). Dr. Binas wife is his office manager. Dr. Binas hobbies include skiing and riding his motorcycle, and he is considering trying gliding sometime soon!
Kathy is the sweetest person you will ever meet. I am so lucky to have her as my beloved wife, as well as part of my staff. She has a big heart and is always on the side of the patient. To know her is to love her.
Devon has many years of experience and puts tremendous effort into making sure you get the best benefits from your insurance. She can also help you get financing for your dental treatment. She is a hard-working individual and wears many hats in the office! Despite her hardships as a single mom, she has managed to raise a sweet and wonderful daughter and is always smiling.
Orly is our sought-after hygienist. You know you have the right hygienist in the office when you repeatedly hear from patients how gentle she is and how they got their best cleaning ever! She is very gentle and caring, and she always checks to see how she can help you to have fewer problems affecting your gum health.
Tabatha has joined our team recently, and in a few days working with her, I realized I have one of the best assistants. She is hard working, punctual and funny. She is involved in patient care and always asks intelligent questions and wants to learn. Her chairside manners are great and patients feel they have known her for a long time.
Mia has been working as a dental assistant since 2020. She is very sweet and motivated and has learned a lot very quickly because of her positive attitude. She wants to pursue dentistry and become a dentist.
Naynay has many years of experience, is very hard working and is a great asset to our office. Her chairside manners are great, very punctual and responsible. She, too, is one of the best assistants as well.
I consider myself very lucky and blessed to have these great women as my staff. We all are here doing our best for you to get the best dental care possible and the best experience. We want you to join our growing family of patients.

I was scared of a previous visit to the dentist since it was so painful. I had to remove 2 wisdom teeth since both were decayed and one was cracked open exposing the pulp. They made me feel comfortable and numb. The actual extractions took less than 5 seconds for each tooth and it was all pain free. Highly recommend this dentist.

I hate dentists but Dr Bina has made life tolerable at the dentist. He is so friendly and treats everyone I see who is there with kindness. The ladies who work the front desk are welcoming and good at working with your insurance companies. I moved out of state and refuse to see anyone else. So whenever I come visit fam I always pair it up with going to see Bina. O and did I tell you he is a professional who is VERY skilled at his craft.

Without a doubt, Dr. Bina is the best dentist I have ever been to. Recently, I had to have rather extensive work done on two back molars which involved clearing out an infection and having a graft to restore bone loss. Going into the procedure I was very nervous. Astonishingly, I didn't feel a thing. Dr. Nina's technical mastery combined with the light, friendly atmosphere maintained by he and his exceptional staff in their immaculate, state-of-the-art office made me feel confident and relaxed. I cannot recommend him highly enough.

Dr. Binda was incredible. I was nervous and had one wisdom tooth extracted when I was younger. The process was violent and I almost passed out. This was the opposite. I was awake, fully numbed, and he got my remaining 3 teeth out so fast, I didn't even realize he was done. Great bedside manner (and funny). His office staff and dental assistants are great, too. Super affordable. When this guy tells you he is the king of extractions, he's not bragging. It's just the tooth. (Sorry, had to) Would recommend anyone and everyone to him. Also worth noting, I had gone to cal dental on Crenshaw and they way over-quoted me and said a bone graft was standard for wisdom tooth extraction (it was adding 2000 out of pocket to my bill). This is incorrect and a way to make extra money that insurance doesn't cover. Also, Cal Dental pushed nitrous. Dr. Bina's office did not. That's another extra expense insurance doesn't cover and he did such a good job I didn't need it. So glad I got a second opinion!

BEST DENTIST EVER. I always felt so self conscious of a tooth that was too short compared to my others and for my upcoming wedding I wanted a cute smile. These guys were so welcoming. I hardly had to wait. I was able to get an appointment right away. Super respectful. They worked with me financially to make sure I was happy and comfortable with the procedure. Actual procedure (dental bonding) took 15 minutes! Definitely referring this spot!

I recently had to have 5 teeth pulled and I was very nervous about the process as this is new for me. Mr. Bina not only made it painless but was very informative about the procedure and had a comfortable and humorous way about him that made the experience quick and easy. Highly recommend!

Always a great experience. I hate dentists, but I always feel safe and comfortable with Dr. Bina. All the staff is friendly and helpful. Very fiscally cognizant and never pushy. Been a long time happy patient and plan on continuing to be.

Not a huge fan of dentists (who is); but huge fan of Dr. Bina's. He is informative, caring, and has very light hands. He has been providing me services for over four years now, and ongoing. His wife, Kathy, works in the office as well and she is incredibly sweet. The entire staff is very personable. Great find.

Dr. Bina and his staff truly deserve 5 stars! He really takes the time to make sure you understand all aspects of your procedure(s) as well as to make sure you are as comfortable as possible. He is professional and courteous as are his staff, returning calls and addressing ones concerns promptly. His bedside manner is one that is comforting to those like myself with high anxiety and tough cases to boot! On a side note, he has a great sense of humor, but even more importantly knows when it's appropriate to share it. He's taken care of me like I am a family member and that's a first for me when it comes to seeing a dentist. I would highly recommend his practice.

What a great experience! I was referred by a colleague of mine who was very happy with Dr. Bina. With previous negative experiences, I was not so trusting. But, upon my first visit I was shown great care by the staff and especially Dr. Bina. They have since welcomed me with sincere smiles and friendliness. I feel like they've been my dental choice for years. Also, Dr. Bina loves putting on music while he works and seems like he loves what he does. I could not have made a more right choice
