I really did not want to have to give a bad review, but I feel like I have no choice but to let others know about my experience. Please, check your bill! My husband and I were charged incorrectly for multiple services at this office, ending up exceeding SEVERAL THOUSAND dollars and we have still yet to receive the full amount back after waiting 5 months. I will only focus on what was charged extra for me personally in this review. I received Invisalign from Encinitas Dental Designs back in May, and after looking at my insurance statement, realized I was charged the uninsured price and that they also billed my insurance (balance billing). When I realized I was charged full price, my husband reached out to the office, where we were told we were wrong even after showing them proof of our insurance amounts vs what we were charged. Unfortunately, instead of the office fixing the issue and reimbursing us, we had to dispute the case with our insurance company which took MONTHS. Encinitas Dental Designs did not send the insurance company our bill with them, so this only prolonged the process. The insurance company sided with us, which forces Encinitas Dental Designs to pay us our allotted amount. Even after all of this, we are still owed an additional $400 for the Invisalign. My husband was told they would mail us a check , but it has been several weeks and we have still not received the additional amount owed. This has been a huge nightmare, and I hope this can serve as a warning for others, especially those who have dealt with dentist billing issues in the past.

I have decided not to use this office anymore for my dental. I have had Ameritas dental plan for over 10 years and have never ran into this difficulty before. When the insurance company says eligible charges that is all I am supposed to pay, the eligible charges. However Dr juca the dentist said I had to pay the entire bill because the insurance company did not approve the charges, he said it is a state law the dentist can charge the total bill if the insurance company does not approve the charges. They just submitted a new bill to my insurance company for more work I will see what they think they are eligible to receive under their new submission to the insurance company. Well I got my insurance explanation back for their new procedure and they didn't put down half of what they had claimed they were going to do. Now I understand why. I would be hit with those charges as not being approved charges. So I have decided not to use this dental clinic any longer. I have found a new dentist.

My visit was rather routine for cleaning, polish, etc. However I had requested a short visit to get the work done due to my tight schedule and the staff there accommodated me beautifully! These folks do very good work and are great to work with!

I'm someone who has anxiety at the dentist so it's difficult to me to find a dentist i like. I traveled up to Northern California to see my dentists for two year but i decided it was time to find a dentist around my area. Dr.Juca was very attentive to my concerns and needs when it came to my teeth. When it was time to do one of my procedures i couldn't feel the shot at all!! I had my front tooth restored & it looked fantastic!!! definitely making Encinitas's Dental Design my new dental home!! ohhh & Judy is a jem!!!

Got an appointment very quickly - friendly administrative staff that worked with my insurance quickly. Great doctor and hygienist who paid attention to details previously looked over by my previous provider.

The entire staff went out of their way to welcome me as a new patient. Everyone in the office--from the person answering phone when I first called to inquire about their services...to the initial greeting when I walked into the office...as well as the clinical staff were all wonderful! The dental assistant was efficient and courteous. The treatment coordinator was thorough and most attentive to my needs and concerns. The dentist was a joy to work with...trustworthy, kind, gentle and a great listener. I can't tout this office enough. After a head-on car accident 40 years ago and unfortunately ending up with a lot of missing/damaged teeth--I've had a ton of dentists over the years presenting a rather complex case. This was truly one of the most pleasant dental visits I've ever experienced. I appreciated that there were no high-pressure sales tactics for schedule unnecessary dental procedures to meet production quotas. I have already recommended them to my family and friends.

Kind, compassionate, and gentle dentistry. The doctor works really hard to keep the office running perfectly, especially during these difficult time with Covid. Great Job everyone...and shout out to the front office staff. You gals rock!
