There is power in a healthy smile; Dr. Maria Jacksons mission is to empower anyone who seeks her services. She is modernizing athletic dental care with her new practice, Empower Dental, and will impact how the residents of Forney, TX and the surrounding cities view oral care as well.
Dr. Jackson, a Kansas City metropolitan native, earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Chemistry from the University of Kansas. Her passion for dentistry led her to pursue a Doctorate of Dental Surgery from the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Dentistry.
She continued her training at Truman Medical Center-General Practice Residency in Kansas City, where she expanded her knowledge of comprehensive treatment planning. She delved into complex restorative cases that required various types of dentistryspecial needs, operating room, sedation, and cosmetic, just to name a few.
Dr. Jackson enjoyed all areas of dentistry but found her niche in sports dentistry. As a former member of the KU Womens Golf Team, she wanted to couple her love of sports with her passion for dentistry.
Shortly after her residency, Dr. Jackson relocated to Texas to work for a dental office in the DFW area. For several years, she gained invaluable experience and skills in working with patients of all ages, understanding their needs and wants, and creating healthy smiles.
In keeping with her quest to stay up to date on the latest techniques and best practices in dentistry, she earned her Fellowship of the Academy of General Dentistry (FAGD). This distinction requires hundreds of continuing education hours and hands-on work in the dental field. Only about 6% of general dentists in the U.S. and Canada are AGD Fellows. Dr. Jackson is currently working towards her Master of the Academy of General Dentistry (MAGD), which would put her amongst the top 2% of dentists in the U.S. and Canada to have this honor!
Dr. Jackson is an accredited member of several organizations including the American Dental Association, Texas Dental Association, Dallas County Dental Society, Academy of General Dentistry, and Academy of Sports Dentistry. She diligently researches and attends various continuing education courses, including custom mouthguard fabrication, prevention methods, and sports trauma. Keeping up with dental technology and current standards of care are paramount, as she strongly values providing her patients with the best treatment options available.
In her spare time, Dr. Jackson can be found on the golf course with her father, in the gym, or watching football. She enjoys spending time with her family and longtime boyfriend, Daymond Patterson II, a local Forney business owner of The Raw Power Team (TRPT) training facility. Together, they enjoy attending sporting events, cooking and trying new restaurants in the DFW metro area.
Hey! My name is Maribel Gamez! I was born and raised in Texas. After high school, I did not know what path I wanted to take, but knew I had a passion for the dental field. I was always taking care of my teeth because I knew that was the first thing people see. I ended up in San Diego, where I worked in a dental office and my love for dentistry grew. I learned many things about oral hygiene, a healthy smile and how it influences our overall health. I was able to grow my experience in the financial part of dental care, and how insurance plans and other financial options worked, and I knew that this was how I wanted to help patients. I loved being able to work close to patients and advise them with financial options that will help them achieve the healthy smile they want.
I missed Texas and being close to my family and decided to make the move back home. I knew I wanted to continue to grow in the dental field and be a part of an office that was new and innovative with the latest technology for patient care, and this is exactly what I found at Empower Dental! I have genuinely enjoyed being a part of the Empower Dental team. The quality of care that is offered to patients by Dr. Jackson is beyond any dental office. I get to make a connection with the patients every day, whether it be explaining their insurance benefits, scheduling, and so on. I always make sure they know that at Empower Dental we will use top of the line products and the latest technology to help improve their smile!
Outside of the office, I enjoy spending time with my husband and family. I loved walks on the beach back in San Diego, but now walks by a lake will do. I, also, enjoy taking pictures and trying new foods.

My mom is in the process of getting some dental work done. She had some reserves about it but Dr. Jackson put her mind at ease, and she is a hilarious and a great dentist with a caring heart. My mom's teeth look great after her cleaning. I'm myself am a 100 Service Connected Veteran who gets dental services done at the Dallas VA. Unfortunately, come January 1st 2023 I'm going to get County insurance and she is going to be my new dentist as well. Thank you Dr. Jackson and I look forward to seeing the completion of my mom's new smile and to be your new client!

First time here and the staff made me feel at home. The receptionist was fantastic. Setting up an appointment was a breeze. The dentist was AMAZING. She has energy, humor, and a great business model. She knows how to maximize space, staff, while building positive quality experiences with customer. I love it here.

I moved to this area not too long ago and needed a dentist closer, I came here to empower dental and all I can say is wow! I loved my visit and the people there were awesome! She was very nice and explained everything in detail to me about what I needed done and was so very sweet, I loved my first visit and will be making my next appt asap! Thanks empower dental

Staff was friendly but the actual dr herself was so loud in each room you could hear the conversation from the waiting room. Even next to me while I'm waiting for exam she's so loud in next room. I just would have preferred a more professional experience instead it made me a little uncomfortable.

Let me start by saying I am not, nor have I ever been a fan of dentist, and I been to even the high end dentistry's such as Mint. However, Dr, Jackson is the BEST dentist I've every been to. She's kind, funny, and real. She cares about what's best for you and takes your opinions and thoughts into consideration when getting a plan together for you. She's affordable and far from those money hungry vultures at those "high end" dentistries lol. I would recommend her to everyone hands down without a doubt. She changed my entire outlook on dentist and her staff is amazing, they're all nice and understanding. Everybody there makes u feel welcome like the type of feeling you wish every doctor could give you.

Dr Maria and staff are all incredibly welcoming and friendly. Never have to wait long before being taken back, and they made sure I was comfortable and pain free throughout my procedure. Amazing experience. I've always had high anxiety when going to the dentist but they eased it all during my first appointment with their genuine care and continuous efforts to ensure I was comfortable throughout the process. I went from going to the dentist once a year, if that, to feeling comfortable enough to get all of my dental work completed in 3 visits. Highly recommend!

Our first visit was great. When we first entered the office, the receptionist made us feel welcome. She was extremely nice. Dr. Jackson was very friendly and made my son's experience great and she left a lasting impression. The entire staff was awesome! I would definitely recommend.

What a pleasant experience at this location. Nice atmosphere, nice people and knowledgeable doctor will keep me coming back every time. The doctor was very patient while I inquired about the procedures that I will need, broke things down so I would understand. Very first time I can say I enjoyed a dentist visit!
