on 9/20/2021 I had appointment , with Dr Carnevali and had to point out he was doing the wrong tooth. Wanted to do the root canal . Until I pointed out wrong tooth. I told him he should Have checked his paperwork before starting and he wisely said thank you for pointing that out. it was for a crown , i had show him note from last time. voice mail said 9am., he showed up at 915 . I told him he was late too and he said thank you for pointing that out for me. . he refused to assist me and demanded i get seen by someone else So I have to call and make an appointment with another dentist

Very caring Dr. and staff! I had the most thorough and gentle cleaning at this office! I'm a very anxious dental patient and they all took their time to talk and made me feel relaxed!

I was a patient here several years ago, between 2015 and 2016. On my first visit, they told me I needed 3 fillings. OK, fine. Never had one before and it hadn't been that long since my last dentist visit (to a different dentist in a different city), but I was 25, and it happens to everyone at some point. I had them done. On my next visit six months later, they told me I needed more fillings. I was very surprised, and I began to smell a rat. I went to another dentist for a second opinion. Unfortunately, my insurance wouldn't cover a second x-ray, but after an examination he told me it was unlikely that I needed more fillings and I probably hadn't needed the 3 I'd had done there. Several years have passed since then, and I wasn't able to go to the dentist again as I kept moving, changing insurance, etc. and I never got around to it. I always had a lurking fear about my teeth because I never got the second set of fillings Emmert told me I needed. Even though I was pretty sure I didn't need any fillings, I never 100% knew whether what they had told me was true or not. Now I know it was absolutely not true. I finally went to see a dentist again yesterday and got x-rays. It has been more than 3 years since I was told by Emmert that I needed fillings, and I got confirmation yesterday that three years later, at 29, I still don't need any fillings. I feel absolutely scammed and violated. I've felt this way for the past 3 years, but now I have confirmation that my feelings are valid. I bitterly regret ever being a patient here, and I bitterly regret getting 3 fillings that I doubt I even needed. I highly recommend finding a different dentist. Don't trust Emmert Dental.

Root canal by dr Carnevali that failed and now I don't have a tooth. The blonde dental hygienist is evil. Worst mistake of my life, please stay away!!

COMPLETE FRAUD! Told me I had 4 cavities in my mouth. I left the office feeling discouraged. I seen another dentist for a second opinion who told me I HAD NO CAVITIES AT ALL! The dentist I seen told me he has heard from numerous patients that Dr. Carnevali told them they had all these problems and cavities and then they went to see another dentist who told them that was not true. He owns Emmert Dental and is only trying to scam people out of their money. He needs to have his license to practice revoked. He is very unethical and a complete fraud!

I am in the market for adult braces. Since they are in my insurance network and close by, I figured I would get a consult through them. I tried calling the office closest to me (Settlers Ridge) multiple times with no answer. This was at 10am on a Wednesday; a time that the recording told me they are open every time I called. Finally, I called the Pittsburgh office to let them know I couldn't get through and the lady informed me that they are closed. I told her the recording said they are open and she just replied, "they're closed. The doctor isn't in today, but the bethel park office should have been answering their calls." She then offered her assistance in scheduling and listed the seemingly random times the orthodontist would be in that office. So, not only would I have to deal with the unannounced closing of the office, I also would have to work around the orthodontists sporadic schedule. Horrible customer service, and what I can see from the reviews that weren't obviously paid for to boost their google rating, they are a shady office in general. I'm actually happy they made it so difficult. It made my decision to stay far away from them easy.

They are AWFUL! Horrible, shady billing practices. They did a filling, and when I came back a few weeks later for a cleaning, my previous dentist was no longer available / with the practice. The new dentist told me the filling wasn't completed, and needed to be done again. I literally sat in the chair and experienced this filling, so I don't know how that is possible. None the less, they were adamant it was not done and needed to be done. Of course, insurance wasn't going to pay for it. They ended up not sealing the filling correctly, and damaging the nerves in the tooth to point my new dentist said, "it's been turned into pulp." I had to have the tooth removed, and Emmert took 0 responsibility. HORRIBLE PRACTICE

As Anthony wrote below, don't trust positive reviews. Simply speaking, their billing is not transparent and they don't take the responsibility for their treatment. I should have paid more attention to negative reviews here and yelp before I changed my primary dentist. Here is a story. I had a new crown 9 months ago in Emmert Dental. Initially, they charged me more than what they agreed with my insurance company. When I found it, I called their office more than 20 times to get their explanation. Their office manager kept saying that they would reimburse it. After a few months passed, she finally changed the bill, instead of reimbursing a difference. She claimed that they missed adding an item that was not covered by my insurance company. Furthermore, they told me that I owed them. Early this year, the crown became loose and food stuck the gap. I made an appointment and visited their office to fix the problem. During my visit, I was told that they would not do so for free and I must pay for the treatment. Therefore, I had to call to the insurance company from Emmert Dental's office and confirmed that Emmert Dental should fix it and the insurance company would cover the cost. After they talked to my insurance company, they told me that the dentist working on that day was not registered to my insurance company (, which I did not understand clearly). They asked me to reschedule an appointment with a different dentist and come back later. My experience with Emmert Dental is extremely frustrating, though I cannot generalize my case.

Completely incompetent. I moved and have been trying to get my xrays from this location for the last 6 weeks. I've been consistently reassured they were going to send / mail them but they never actually do. I've had to reschedule appointments with my new dentist 3 times now. When I did go to them they were clearly looking to perform as many procedures as possible to make additional money.

Don't believe the positive reviews. Everyone I know who has gone there regrets it. (look on yelp). Staff is completely incompetent! It took months of back and forth just for them to figure out how to bill our insurance, and that was after they tried billing us and skipping insurance entirely. Our last time there was literally months ago and a random bill just showed up for almost $1000. Do yourself a favor and stay away!

If I could give no stars, I would. They will scam you out of your very last dollar. A terrible practice. Avoid at all costs.
