Dr. Paul R. Gardner graduated with a degree in Biochemistry from Brigham Young University before completing his dental degree at the University of Washington School of Dentistry in Seattle in 2010. He completed a hospital based General Practice Residency in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center where he received advanced training in endodontics, periodontics, and prosthodontic dental procedures as well as gaining experience managing patients in diverse and challenging medical backgrounds. He and his family relocated to Chattanooga, TN in 2011 where he worked as a Managing Clinic Director. Dr. Gardner has a great love of dentistry and helping his patients improve their oral health. He has a passion for continuing education and striving to improve himself to provide the best care for his patients.
Dr. Gardner is a member of the American Dental Association, The Academy of General Dentistry, The Tennessee Dental Association, The Chattanooga Area Dental Association, The Tennessee Valley Study Club, and The Spear Study Club.
When Dr. Gardner is not in the office making patients smiles, he enjoys spending time with his wife and his two daughters. They enjoy all types of outdoor activities including hiking, camping, swimming, and gardening. He absolutely loves the culture and environment of Chattanooga.

I cannot thank Dr. Gardner enough. After months of dealing with excruciating pain in one of my teeth from malpractice of another local dentist, he really made it his goal to get to the root of my pain. Not only is Dr. Gardner knowledgeable he is also honest about his treatment plans. He let me know exactly what he thought the problem was and got to work. After a few visits to him I can finally chew without pain. I cannot thank him, the dental assistants, and the sweet desk ladies enough.

I love Emerald Dental and it's staff, they make you feel comfortable for whatever session you have going on. They take the time to ensure you know what and why exactly they recommend certain procedures. I was seen for dentures, and since my appointment I have let my inner fat girl out and have been able to thoroughly enjoy food again, so much I gained 43 pounds! Thanks for assisting with enhancing life!

My 7 year old was recently seen here for a cleaning he had some cavities that needed to be fixed. He was really scared to get work done but the whole staff made him feel very comfortable. The first fillings visit he had to have gas to deal with his nerves, however the next 2 visits he didn't have to have anything and was able to get numb all by himself! They make him very excited to take care of his teeth! I highly recommend them for all dental work! The staff is so wonderful and kind! I'll never go to another office for work!

My son was told he had a few cavities that needed to to be taken care of by this dentist. I was shocked since I've being on top of all of his teeth by taking good care of them since birth. I constantly teach him how to take care of them and he has being. I couldn't physically see any cavities nor am i an expert, so I took him to another dentist for a second opinion. They informed me that my son has NO cavities at all! NON!!!! That he's being doing a very good job eith his teeth. That the only issue he had was tart on the bottom of his teeth that needed to be taken care of or he would develop gingivitis. That was odd because he had a cleaning about 2 and half weeks ago at this office. I am appalled at the unethical, disturbing and unprofessional staff here. I will never again take him to this place.

Dr Gardner and his staff are excellent and made me feel more comfortable at a dentist than I've ever felt. I had full upper denture with many extractions just yesterday. I was terrified, but they made the experience okay and definitely pain free! It's going to be wonderful to smile again because of them!! I'll never go anywhere else for dental...they do not sedate, but give the option for gas and send you home with any materials, tools, and meds you may need.

If you're concerned about finding a practice that still follows all safety protocols during this time, Emerald Dental is your best bet. The exam rooms are sectioned off with an air scrubber and the staff remained masked even after dealing with patients. Dr. Gardner has a very kind and attentive demeanor. I appreciated how he and the hygienist listened to concerns about my gums that were ignored elsewhere. Be aware that adults are charged $22 for fluoride applied during cleanings, though! I would have refused it if I were asked beforehand.

They are super sweet and easy to deal with. Will answer any questions if you feel left in the dark. They made me a full set of dentures top and bottom. They came back quickly and fit wonderful. They let me customize them. They have payment plans for people with no dental insurance. I have had 5 family members use them.

First time visiting emerald dental and let's just say I love them. The entire staff was so nice to my son he was not scared at all and they made sure he was comfortable and did a excellent job on his teeth cleaning. Definitely recommend them. Very clean environment no problem at all. Can't wait til next visit for myself. :)

I went for the first time today for a cleaning which revealed some other issues. The staff was friendly and efficient and knowledgeable. Doctor Gardner went over my options clearly and helped me understand what an appropriate treatment plan would be. Highly recommended.

Dr. Gardner and his dental hygienists, have been nothing but AMAZING and have done AMAZING WORK so far for me! My smile looks so much prettier and their not even done yet! Not to mention the CLEAN, UP TO DATE, and COMFORTABLE ENVIRONMENT! I've already had to make and still have to make quite a few more trips to the office. I really appreciate the fact Dr. Gardner took the time out to resolve an issue I experienced with the desk clerk. Accordingly, in a timely and professional manner. He definitely cares about his patients! I plan on coming back for future routines and visits highly recommend!!!!

I cannot express how absolutely pleased and thankful for this dentist office! Couple notes to make here to encourage you to go to them: they are judgement free (infact even though my teeth are in bad shape they made me feel like I had a great smile), the staff are extremely friendly and actually talk to you (your not just another client/person to them), they care that you actually get your teeth fixed in a timely and affordable manner (they lay out a payment plan that will work with you not against you), and lastly they are very clean and efficient here! I really and truly do encourage everyone to check them out. I very much appreciate all of of your hard work Emerald!

I have been there for the first time ever for general dental checkup. I was told to get cleanup & filling done to one of my teeth also few extractions . I made up my mind, done the partial cleanup on the same day as insisted by the doctor. They are so nice ,right from the nurse to the doctor. Im petrified of needles & scared to the death lol. I know most of them would relate me , as soon as I entered the procedure room I was almost dead inside looking at the dental equipments they would be using on me. They made me comfortable, explained each & every thing in detail ahead of doing . I held nurse hand when I felt discomfort & asked too many questions yet she was so patient with me. Overall cleanup & my filling procedures went smooth with 0 pain. Trust me ! He's awesome
