Prior to moving to the Bay Area, Dr Chong spent many of her earlier years in warm and sunny Southeast Asia and the beautiful British Columbia, Canada. In Vancouver Canada, Dr Chong worked in several dental offices during her high school summer breaks and it was through these experiences that Dr Chong developed a passion for helping others create beautiful smiles. Dr Chong then moved to the City of Brotherly Love to pursue her passion in dentistry at the prestigious Ivy League Institution the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine.
At Penn, she was selected to attend the combined Orthodontics/Periodontics residency program, the only one of its kind in the world which accepts one resident each year. Dr Chong treated numerous patients at Penn with orthodontic, periodontic and complex, interdisciplinary dental needs. Dr Chong also had the privilege of lecturing on different treatment techniques and served as clinical faculty to dental students. In recognition of her efforts and dedication to dentistry, Dr Chong was the recipient of the American Dental Education Association Johnson & Johnson Award, Colgate Research Award, Dr Morris Bradin Award in Periodontics and attaining Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics.
Dr Chong and the Embrace Smiles Team is proud to serve the communities of Saratoga, Cupertino, San Jose, Los Gatos, Mountain View, Sunnyvale, Palo Alto and Los Altos. Dr Chong is dedicated to practicing the highest standards of dentistry, serving communities from all walks of life in the Bay Area. Dr Chong believes in empowering her patients to make important decisions in their oral care. She also believes creating and maintaining beautiful healthy smiles is a team effort between patient, doctor and the doctors team. The team at Embrace Smiles is committed to providing patients with a family-oriented, fun, and meaningful experience. Our team members are passionate about delivering patient-focused care, one that will leave our patients continuously raving about!
During her free time, Dr Chong enjoys traveling to visit family and friends all over the world and spending time with her husband, Yuchi. They enjoy hiking, skiing and taking in the all the beautiful sights the Bay Area has to offer. Most recently, Dr Chong and her husband climbed 3000ft to the top of Mission Peak.

We relocated from Midwest and my kids were in middle of treatment. We had heard horror stories of how Ortho treatments will need to start afresh if we transition. However, we were pleasantly surprised on treatment plan received from Dr. Chong. Both my kids were smoothly enrolled in their new ortho schedule with no major changes asked for. The kids were very happy that they did not have to go through re wiring etc and are excited to earn points . The entire staff is extremely polite, friendly, welcoming and understanding. We would highly recommend Dr. Chong.

I was a patient a couple of years ago and I had such a great experience that I came back when my daughter needed braces. They make her feel at ease every step of the way and she looks forward to her appointments! They explain exactly what they are doing so she knows what to expect and she can be ready for that! The overall process is almost hurt free: bye bye days of old braces that hurt you so bad you want to cry!
