Dr. Gary Shanker graduated from Washington University in 1964 and received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology. In 1968, he received his Doctorate of Dental Surgery from the University of Tennessee, and in 1972, obtained his post-doctoral degree in orthodontics from Washington University.
Dr. Shanker served as an assistant professor of orthodontics at Washington University, where he has lectured and taught clinical orthodontics for over 15 years. In addition, his lectures have been presented to orthodontists, orthodontic graduate students, and dental study groups.
Dr. Jonathan Shanker attended Boston University, where he graduated Magna Cum Laude in 1996 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology. In 2000, he graduated with distinction from the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Dentistry earning his Doctorate of Dental Surgery. Dr. Jonathan graduated from a three-year residency program in orthodontics and dentofacial orthopedics in 2003 from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey with a Master of Science degree.
Dr. Brian Schlueter graduated from Texas Christian University in 1997 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology. In 2001, he received his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from Southern Illinois University School of Dental Medicine. After dental school, he completed his Advanced Education in General Dentistry residency training at the David Grant Medical Center, Travis AFB in California. Following three years of service in the United States Air Force Dental Corps, Dr. Schlueter obtained his Master of Science in Dentistry and post-graduate orthodontic training at St. Louis University in 2006.

We couldn't be happier with our experience at Embrace Our World. The staff are amazing- everyone from the front desk to the assistants in the back, and the top-notch doctors. I have always said I don't care how nice someone is, as long as they are the best at what they do and as skilled as they come. At Embrace Our World, you get both: the best care AND extremely kind, professional staff who care about our well-being. Before choosing this office, we did have two other consults up north, closer to where we live. After meeting with the doctor at Embrace Our World, I knew it was a great match. I am very impressed with the modern equipment used to evaluate each of my children, and the treatment plans. Even more, I am grateful that such talented and skilled doctors know how to help my children. My children inherited some genetic issues with extreme overbites, and my oldest son has two permanent teeth missing. Dr. Jon was very reassuring from the get-go that there are solutions for all of the issues my children's jaws and teeth present. We just had our oldest two get their braces removed, and we are very pleased with outcome! Our 3rd son continues treatment, and our daughter just had her first evaluation. We will continue to go to Embrace Our World for all of our orthodontia needs. Thank you Dr. Jon and staff for always taking care of our family, and treating us like your own. Highly recommend!

We received great care and service from Embrace Our World! We explored a couple of options before choosing a provider and were happy with our decision to use EOW. We have always been treated by friendly and helpful staff. Everyone, including and especially the doctors, have always been welcoming and friendly. My daughter loved the fun perks and prizes she earned. Our daughter's smile is beautiful! And we finished according to plan in a timely manner.

I worked with the team at Embrace Our World Orthodontics for three years while in braces. As an adult wearing braces it was important to find a team that provided the best options for me instead of a quick fix. They made everything easy from the initial consultation, to insurance, and scheduling care around my work schedule. Everyone is friendly and takes the time to get to know you personally. They explain your treatment plan, what they are going to do that visit, and what they next steps are at your following appointment. They were very spot on with the length of treatment as well. I couldn't be happier with the result and highly recommend Embrace Our World Orthodontics!

Dr John and his assistants Mackenzie and Rachel have been servicing my twin sons , with special needs! They are phenomenal! I myself got braces through Embrace, I would recommend anyone to them, especially anyone who has special needs kiddos, they are patient , kind, put their needs first, and has always let me stand at their chair side. Thanks so very much for everything!! Done one , two more to go!!

We have been very pleased with Embrace Our World for the 10 years we've been there. All of the staff is there to serve the customer in the best way possible. We have three kids with very different orthodontic plans, and they've been treated well, two are done and we couldn't be happier with the results!

The orthodontist office all the doctors and nurses were just amazing throughout the whole process with my son. His final result is just unbelievable and his teeth look just perfect. Its already hard enough finding a job and going through mutiple interviews. But to say you would call someone back PERSONALLY to schedule them an interview and never do. Thats a problem with THIS COMPANY. Companies like this never give outsiders chances to become something in life because they give out false narratives. My experience with this office was wonderful and it came highly recommended by families at school. Not only are they kind, honest and trustworthy doctors, it's obvious that everyone who works there loves their job and their patients. Every visit was an absolute pleasure, every interaction positive and cheerful. My initial visit was for my daughter. After learning that she didn't need braces (after being told by another ortho that she did), I took the opportunity to get Invisalign for myself. The process was simple and my teeth look great. Five stars!

I was referred by my dentist when tooth migration was becoming a problem for me. The staff at Embrace Our World Orthodontics were able to create a plan to remedy my situation. Throughout my time there, I was treated with kindness and informed efficiency by not only the orthodontists but also the technicians with whom I interacted. They kept me informed on what to expect, so I was never in doubt. At the close of the treatment I was fitted with retainers that will keep my teeth in proper position. I am very happy with the results and highly recommend this crew to anyone of any age in need of orthodontic treatment. The practice is very welcoming and I never had any concern whatsoever.

After 8 years, my daughter completed her orthodontic journey yesterday by getting her braces off. We can't stress enough how pleased we are with her final results. Her smile is GORGEOUS. Working with Dr. Jon and his staff all of these years have been absolutely wonderful, and they have become almost like family to us. They are extremely kind, passionate, and customer centric. The staff always make sure that the patient understands the treatment, and educates them appropriately. We have, and will continue to, recommend this practice to all of our family and friends.
