Dr. Wayne Hickory has been an authority in the orthodontics field for over 25 years. As an early adopter of orthodontic technology and with a background in orthodontic research and instruction, Dr. Hickory is an expert in both traditional and modern orthodontic methods. His unique fusion of personalized care, leading-edge technology and authentic, transparent patient relationships is part of what our patients enjoy so much.
Both patients and colleagues benefit from Dr. Hickorys expertise. As a former full-time professor in the orthodontic departments of both the University of Amsterdam and the University of Maryland, Dr. Hickory regularly teaches and consults in orthodontic practices around the world. Dr. Hickory also has a special interest in teaching abroad along with hosting orthodontists from Europe and Asia for advanced courses stateside.

As the Assistant Manager and Treatment Coordinator, I meetwith all new patients to understand their orthodonticneeds. This allows us to create truly customized treatment plans that result in brilliant smiles. I love my rolebecause I get to help educate patients so they are better prepared to make smart decisions for their orthodontic health.
Prior to myrole here at Embassy Row Orthodontics, Iused to serve in the US Army Reserves. Now Ispend my free time advocating for myfurry friends, helping and rescuing animals. There is nary a creature that I donot want to nurture, from spiders to dogs. When Im notsaving animals, you can find mecurled in mybed, eyes glued to thelatest political TVdrama series.
As an athletic, animal-loving person, mydream vacation would be spent exploring the unknown alongside mybeloved Lhasa Apso, Famous (while trying new recipes and restaurants to appeal to myinner gastronome).
My responsibility is working directly for our patients. This involves taking diagnostic records of their orthodontic treatment (x-rays and photographs), planning and executing their treatment, removing braces, and managing retention.
Patients are excited and enjoy coming to our office because we provide excellent and comprehensive care. Additionally, I treat every patient according to their individual needs and treatment plan. I enjoy helping patients, as it is very rewarding to be a vital part of helping them achieve a beautiful and healthy smile.
Iam a down-to-earth homebody and find joy in fixing things in my home. I like relaxing at home when I am not working and like to stay updated on current events and watching TV. Ienjoy spending time with my son, Steve, and going shopping. Myfavorite food is traditional Filipino food and my favorite dessert is flan.
First and foremost, my work impacts our patients to help them have good dental health. I enjoy helping them achieve and maintain a great smile. I listen and address their concerns and try to achieve treatment goals to satisfy their needs.
Imeasygoing, sociable and funny. I enjoy both the great outdoors and the great indoors my interests range from playing soccer with my son Nathaniel to relaxing at home watching my favorite TV shows. Myfavorite things include eating steak and curry, watching science fiction movies and playing with dogs. In my spare time I volunteer at a military hospital.
I have a variety of interests and hobbies, which range from hiking to shopping. I enjoy photography, playing Internet games and watching anime. Myfavorite animals are tigers and puppies, and I love eating sushi and ramen. Imcompassionate, fun, and a foodie who loves lounging on the beach.
Dogs have been shown to have a calming effect in the dental environment, although new technology has meant orthodontic visits are no longer very stressful. Chouko is available upon request during your next orthodontic visit.

Dr.Hickory, hands down is one of the most genuine orthodontist you can find in the DMV area. He is very knowledgeable with Invisalign and has been one of the top users of Invisalign for over 20 years. What else can you ask for!?! My experience with this office has been such an incredible journey i cant thank them enough. The time you walk into the office to the time you leave, the office every minute was an easy process especially with all the technology offered. The staff are so friendly, especially Jay and Michelle for being there with me and treating me like family. Please check out their office, its absolutely stunning!

I have had two dentists shocked at my bite following treatment from Dr Hickory. The service provided was lackluster, if not negligent. I would not recommend this practice for this reasons, but also because you can get Invisalign / treatment at a fraction of the cost from other providers within the area. I urge you to take my advice! Don't make the same mistake I made!

Dr. Hickory is very professional and respectful to me! Their staff is very courteous and caring, I've always had a good experience anytime I've went there. They have a great atmosphere and it's always clean. They aren't the top #1 Invisalign Provider in the entire DMV for nothing!! I highly recommend! :D

Dr. Hickory is the most patient and understanding Dr. I've ever had. The time he spends answering all questions (and easing nerves) and the flexibility in payment options really gave me the peace of mind to complete my treatment at Embassy Row versus other offices I visited. The staff is super polite and accommodating too. Thank you ERO!

I am not even sure if there is anyone who knows how to submit claims to insurance companies.. I have been trying to get my refund since March 2018. Their staff is not as responsive as they used to be. I communicated with Mitchaw, Jay regarding this issue back in March 2018 and Jay confirmed he made some mistakes on their end and resubmitted my claims to correct place.. My primary insurance paid half portion of the claim in June 25th and my secondary insurance would have picked up the remaining balance. However, it has been on "pending" status for the last 3 months. I asked Jay what's going on - he said we are just waiting for them to pay and submitted everything what they need...... TODAY, I just found out my "EOB" from primary insurance (indicating they had paid certain portion) was never submitted to my secondary insurance company when requested. They needed to have this information in order to process the payment. I am not even sure Dr.Hickory is aware of how staff operate and communicate with his patients. PLEASE hire some people who knows their JOB!!!!

Dr. Hickory is very professional and respectful to me! Their staff is very courteous and caring, I've always had a good experience anytime I've went there. Had a 6 month active treatment w/ invisalign 4 years ago or so....when treatment was complete I was expecting an old fashioned wire retainer but to my delight Dr. Hickoty & his staff strongly recommended the Vivera sumscription..4 retainers in 12 months delivered every 3 months...I wore the Vivera full time for 12 weeks then began to wear them every single night since then..I am so happy with my orthodontic result and the lasting beautiful smile that we achieved together...I get many compliments on my smile and @ 45 years old it is quite a compliment...my hygiene appointments go very smoothly because straight teeth are easier to clean & my gum health is spot on...I couldn't be happier w/ the amazing super long lasting smile that I have ThanX to Dr. Hickory & his staff

Dr. Hickory was able to explain the process in detail and was very honest about the cost and flexible with payments. Although I didn't have the money for a down payment on the day of my consultation, Dr. Hickory and his staff didnt make me feel bad about it and welcomed me with open arms once I returned a year later. Today, I am on my 4th set of Invisalign trays and it has been amazing! Dr. Hickory has the best bed side manner and I have been very happy with the results thus far.

I absolutely love Dr. Hickory and his amazing staff. This was the best selection I've made when selecting on getting Invisalign. I love my retainers so much, Dr. Hickory even told me he could tell that I wear them more than normal! this place is so family oriented and I am quite pleased with everything that they do!
