Dr. Jamie H. Chung is originally from Seoul, South Korea, and moved to Southern California as a teenager. After graduating from her high school as the Valedictorian, she attended Cornell University in New York, where she graduated with a degree in operations research and industrial engineering.
After college, Dr. Chung received her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of California, San Francisco. It was here that she fell in love with the science, biology and excitement of periodontics. She continued her passion for periodontics at Harvard University, School of Dental Medicine in Boston, Massachusetts. While there, she conducted extensive clinical research in periodontology both at Harvard and the Forsyth Institute. During her years at Harvard, she received vigorous clinical training from the top clinicians and researchers from around the world. She also found time to publish multiple scientific studies in a number of dental journals. Furthermore, Dr. Chung has presented her research at various national and international meetings and is viewed as a leader by her peers.
Dr. Chung believes in providing the highest quality of dental care to her patients in a welcoming and friendly environment. She emphasizes comprehensive dental care that is tailored to individual patients. This means that she looks at her patients as a whole and collaborates with their restorative specialist, to ensure that her patients receive only the most optimal care.
Though she has lived in many cities throughout the world, Dr. Chung calls the Bay Area her home. She loves the weather, the people, the food and the culture that the Bay Area provides. She feels that these unique qualities make the Bay Area the best place to live compared to any other part in the world
Dr. Chung is fluent in English and Korean. She enjoys outdoor sports, which includes swimming, snowboarding, tennis and golf. She also loves to travel. She also considers herself a foodie, as she enjoys cooking and sharing great food with her friends, family and colleagues.
Dr. Amy Yonemitsu is a California native, born and raised in Salinas. She obtained her bachelor of science from UC Davis and went on to achieve a doctorate of dental surgery from the University of the Pacific Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry in San Francisco.
Through her training and experience in complex care, Dr. Amy developed her skills in advanced restorative, cosmetic and implant dentistry and takes special care with treating dental phobic and anxious patients. In addition, she is well-versed in complex prosthodontics, which is a fascinating area of dentistry that focuses exclusively on designing, fabricating and fitting extremely natural-looking artificial teeth.
She values spending time with patients to understand their individual expectations, needs, and to address personalized goals in and beyond the dental chair. Her strong belief in patient education allows her to focus on prevention and providing comprehensive, quality patient care.
In addition to remaining committed to providing our patients with the extraordinary level of care theyve come to expect from Cosmetic Dentistry Associates, Dr. Amy also hones her skills and expands her expertise by attending seminars and conferences devoted to technological advancements in the industry, aesthetic dentistry and general dental care. Shes currently taking classes to expand her knowledge in treating patients with sleep apnea.
