Born and raised in Indianapolis, Indiana, Dr. Elsner is the eldest of three children. Born to parents in the medical field, he attended Perry Meridian High School and decided he would pursue a career based upon helping others. He attended Purdue University; graduating in 2009 with dual Bachelor of Science degrees in Health Science Pre-dentistry and Environmental Health Science. During his time at Purdue University, he served as an Ambassador for the School of Health Sciences, and actively participated in the Pre-dental club.

Dr. Elsner continued his education at Indiana University School of Dentistry earning his Doctorate of Dental Surgery in 2013. While excelling in clinical performance, Dr. Elsner took on additional roles teaching advanced dental materials and restorative dentistry classes to hygiene and assisting students. Additionally, Adam maintained Deans List and Semester honors and was the recipient of the James Huckleberry Scholarship for academic excellence.

Beyond the chair, Dr. Elsner enjoys spending time with his family and his dogs Dentin, Resin, Prophy, and Endo (suitably named Weimaraners). He also finds pleasure in recreational sports such as cycling, mountain biking, snow skiing, and swimming. Other interests include photography, landscaping, travel, camping, and the sciences in general.

We offer a wide variety of services to restore your mouth to a healthy state. We are always seeking to advance dentistry by incorporating the latest technology. Dr. Elsner and his team take advantage of advanced education courses to further patient care. We are always learning new technologies and techniques to perfect dentistry. Dentistry today is evolving and isn't the same as 5, 10, or 20 years ago. Have a particular question for Dr. Elsner? He is here to work with our patients to provide options to suit their needs.

A crown is a covering that encases the entire tooth surface restoring it to its original shape and size. Crowns are used when excessive portions of the original tooth are missing or broken or when a filling is too large. By covering the whole tooth, any biting force is evenly applied to the tooth preventing if from fracturing or cracking. Most often crowns are made of high strength ceramic today. Older crowns were made of gold or weaker porcelain. A crown protects and strengthens tooth structure that cannot be restored with fillings or other type of restorations. Typically a crown procedure takes 2 visits with the second visit only taking a half hour.

A composite (tooth colored) filling is used to repair a tooth that is affected by decay, cracks, fractures, etc. The decayed or affected portion of the tooth will be removed and then filled with a composite filling. A composite filling will bond to the tooth and release fluoride allowing the restored tooth to remain strong for a longer period of time. Composite fillings eliminate the exposure to mercury and other harmful metals that are present in amalgam fillings (silver/metal fillings).

There are two types of dentures complete and partial dentures. Complete dentures are used when all of the teeth are missing, while partial dentures are used when some natural teeth remain. A partial denture not only fills in the spaces created by missing teeth, it prevents other teeth from shifting.

A dental bridge is a fixed (non-removable) appliance and is an excellent way to replace missing teeth. Similar to a crown, a bridge is typically made from a ceramic material. There are several types of bridges. You and Dr. Elsner will discuss the best options for your particular case. The traditional bridge is the most popular and consists of two crowns that go over two anchoring teeth (abutment teeth) and are attached to artificial teeth (pontics), filling the gap created by one or more missing teeth.

Dental implants are for tooth replacement. If teeth are missing or unable to be saved, implant placement may be the best treatment option. Missing teeth can adversely impact a persons function and overall appearance. These tooth replacements can be virtually indistinguishable from natural teeth and can dramatically enhance the ease, ability and enjoyment of eating. Implants can help preserve facial structure, preventing the bone deterioration that occurs when teeth are lost. We work as a team with an oral surgeon to ensure your dental implant is successful for many years.

When you need a root canal, we know you consider it a dental emergency, and we can help deliver relief. Root canal therapy is needed when the nerve of the tooth is affected by decay, trauma or infection. In order to save the tooth, the pulp (the living tissue inside the tooth), nerves, bacteria, and decay are removed and the resulting space is filled with special, medicated dental materials which restore the tooth to its full function. When needed a root canal done on a tooth is the treatment of choice to save a tooth that otherwise would need to be extracted (removed).

Would not recommend by any means!! They are not professional by any means. I had my appointment in December of 2021. It all started with his office manager Laura, who 90% of the time does not answer the phone, and when she finally answered I tried to schedule an appointment for my mom since she was in pain and I really do not understand why would she want my mom who is in pain to call herself and make an appointment for herself (keep in mind that I am requesting to schedule an appointment not trying to get information about my mom's health or anything, so in this case there was no HIPAA rules broken). When I showed up to my first and only appointment, I was treated by Laura again in a very disrespectful way, because I showed up 15 mins early to my appointment, which is basically asked from anyone when they show up to an appointment and especially if it is your first time, I was asked to leave the office and waited in the car for 15 mins until the time of my appointment, and even after I walked back into the office she was very disrespectful and I could see her pointing at me while the dental hygienist was on her way to get me in the treatment room, and I could hear her whisper that I am a tough patient and that she should be cautions. To be fair the only one who treated my in a respectful way was the dental hygienist. After my appointment I requested my records to be transferred to indy dental group, which is located 2 blocks away from them (the request was a couple of days after my appointment in December) and after multiple attempts on different days and different times by both me and the new dentist's office manager, Laura decided to finally answer the phone and took my transfer request. Today February 5th (2 months later) I received a letter from Dr. Elsner, stating that he was not happy that I complained in the survey that he sent me after my visit about how disrespectful I was treated and requested me to find a different dentist, which indicates that my records were not transferred as requested to the new dentist After seeing the other reviews I am pretty sure that I am not the only one who had a bad experience with them , and I really hope that they learn how to treat their patients in a professional and respectful way. PS: Usually when you have an issue with a dentist or a physician they try to reach out to you and resolve the issue, but with Dr. Elsner they sadly don't have this concept they send you a letter in the mail asking you to not show up to their office again and to sign a release of information document. WHAT A PROFESSIONAL AND RESPECTFUL WAY TO TREAT PATIENTS!! GLAD THAT HE IS THE ONLY ONE WHO FOLLOWS THE CONCEPT OF KICKING THE PATIENTS OUT

Dr. Elsner and his staff are excellent! They are super friendly taking time to get to know their patients. At many doctors and dentists, I have felt like little more than a number and paycheck to them. But at Dr. Elsner's I was treated with respect and kindness that proved to me that they really care about each individual patient! Would definitely recommend to anyone in the Westfield area!

Elsner Family Dentistry is a first-class dental provider. This practice was recommended to me when we moved to Westfield about a year ago, and I'm so glad I heeded the advice. This is the most thorough dental practice I have ever encountered. At my first visit, the hygienist thoroughly evaluated my dental situation, taking multiple photos, as well as the typical x-rays. She also did a great job of cleaning my teeth and checking my gums. When she found a problem with my gums, I was referred to a periodontist to treat the issue. Then Dr. Elsner checked my teeth. When a cavity developed at the margin of an old crown, he replaced the crown. I'm very happy with the outcome. The crown fits well and feels natural. Dr. Elsner and his assistants were very skillful throughout the procedure, and explained what they were doing as they went along. The office staff is also very professional and friendly. In fact, the professionalism in this office is rare. I highly recommend Elsner Family Dentistry.

I have been seeing Dr. Elsner since he took over my previous dentists practice. It was a smooth transition and I feel like he and his staff are above and beyond in the quality of care they have provided for my family. Anya is always very helpful at the front desk and makes sure everything is squared away and Veronica has been my favorite dental hygienist I have had through the years. When I come in every staff member is very friendly and makes you feel right at home. Thank you Elsner Dentistry for creating such a wonderful practice!

I have a fear of the dentist....that started back when I was much younger and had a root canal done with no Novocaine. Since then, I have not been as good as I should be about visiting the dentist. I just moved to Westfield and made it a priority to get something scheduled. I made the RIGHT choice! From the moment I walked in the door to a calm, comforting atmosphere of the office and a friendly greeting from Anya, to the professional, engaging and "calming" hygienist Veronica, to Dr. Elsner himself my experience was more than I could have hoped for. If you are looking for a new dentist, I highly recommend this practice! Thank you!
