Dr. Ellis is a graduate of ChicagosNorthwestern UniversitySchool of Dentistry (DDS 1997) where he graduated at the top of his class. After completing dental school, Dr. Ellis spent the next 4 years at the Ohio State University Medical Center serving as a surgical resident in theDepartment of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. During his time at Ohio State he earned a Masters Degree and was appointed as the chief resident.After completing his residency Dr. Ellis not only served as a part-time Clinical Faculty member at the OSU Dental School in the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery but also began his private Oral Surgery practice.
Dr. Ellis practices within the broad spectrum of Oral Surgery where his primary interests lie in dental implant surgery with an emphasis on hard and soft tissue grafting. He has a unique and unparalleled experience in utilizing the latest 3-D imaging for guided implant and bone grafting procedures.Dr. Ellis was one of the first practitioners in Central Ohio to incorporate thei-CAT Cone Beam CTscanner and 3-D technology into his dental implant practice. He also utilizes 3-D imaging to treat numerous conditions of the head and face.
Dr. Ellis is board certified and a Diplomate of theAmerican Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons.He recently participated in and passed his 10 year recertification examination, a crucial step in maintaining his Board Certification status. In addition, he is a fellow in theAmerican Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeonsand maintains hospital privileges atDublin Methodist Hospital. Dr. Ellis served as a team Maxillofacial Surgeon for the Columbus Blue Jackets from 2003 through the 2012 season, where he was responsible for treating oral, facial and jaw injuries sustained by the NHL players both on and off the ice.
Dr. Ellis is married to Dr. Jennifer Ellis, a family physician in Columbus, and are the busy parents of three very active children, Cooper, Cameron, and Reed. While not working he enjoyssnow skiing, running, mountain biking, coaching his kids sport teams as well as traveling with his family.
Dr. Erik Evans was born and raised in Columbus, Ohio. After graduating from Upper Arlington High School, he majored in biology at The College of Wooster. He became interested in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery while observing his father, Dr. T. W. Evans, in his practice.
Dr. Evans graduated from The Ohio State University College of Dentistry in 1996 and entered an integrated OMS residency and medical school at Northwestern University Medical School (now Feinberg School of Medicine) in Chicago after completing a year of Anesthesia training at Parkland Memorial Hospital at the University of Texas Southwestern in Dallas. He completed an internship in surgery at Northwestern Memorial Hospital after medical school. He went on to complete his OMS residency training at Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center in Shreveport in 2005 followed by a fellowship in facial aesthetic surgery with his father in Columbus.
He remained in Columbus as full-time faculty in the Division of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at The Ohio State University and Nationwide Childrens Hospital where he became residency program director and the D. P. Snyder Endowed Professor. During this time, he was awarded the Faculty Educator Development Award from the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons (AAOMS), given to a select number of promising young academic surgeons. After five years at Ohio State, he spent over six years in the Division of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the University of Cincinnati, Cincinnati Childrens Hospital Medical Center, and the Veterans Affairs Medical Center. He joined Ellis Oral Surgery in 2018.
A fellow of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and the American College of Surgeons, he has given lectures on both the local and national level, published research articles and book chapters, been a reviewer for the International Journal of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, and has served his specialty as President of the Ohio Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons as well as a Delegate to AAOMS.
Dr. Evans professional interests include the full scope of the specialty of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, including facial trauma, facial reconstruction, orthognathic surgery, temporomandibular joint surgery, and facial aesthetic surgery.

Very good and knowledgeable stuff! Took time to explain all our questions and also follow up day after the procedure! Doctor is very friendly and my son liked him (not usual) and we are glad for their caring and patience service We definitely recommend them to all our friends

They don't take appointments unless you are referred by another dentist,I know I need teeth pulled,but they want to give me the run around,spend more money!they are no help and only increases the length of time I have to suffer!

I had just visited my endodontist and it was decided my tooth needed to be removed. Their office referred me to Ellis Oral Surgery for an emergent tooth extraction. I was so impressed with their process, how friendly and caring everyone was, and so thankful to meet Dr. Evans. All went very smoothly, all my questions were answered, and received excellent care. Plus I was very happy to have the first step of having an implant done at the same time as my extraction.

They we able to get me in quickly and do my extraction the same day. Dr. Evans and everybody in the office were very friendly and professional. They put me at ease, answered all my questions, and made sure I had everything I needed. They were fantastic!

Physician spoke to person helping me, instead of speaking to me. Staff seemed to have great difficulty getting my X-rays, having me sit in 2 different chairs & then stand wearing the lead apron. I have extreme back problems & I felt I pulled a muscle, by standing wearing the heavy lead apron. Scheduled appointment for the extractions. Was told I had to have a medical clearance for the procedure. 9 days after medical clearance, doctor still hadn't spoken with my physician. Receptionist called to cancel appointment for extraction because doctor hadn't spoken to my family physician, even though appointment still a week away. The receptionist admitted she scheduled the appointment in error. At 91, I was jumping through hoops to get these extractions and dealing with the infection. Question the integrity of this dentist & feel he doesn't work well with elderly patients.

Dr. Ellis and his staff are top-notch.. I can't say enough positive about them.. not only are they highly skilled in their field of expertise, they are kind and treat you like part of the family. I've been under Dr. Ellis' care now for several months and have felt completely supported every step of the way. My road to a new smile has been the hardest thing I've ever done, but having great folks like those at Ellis Oral Surgery made it less intimidating and I knew I was in the absolute best of hands.

Very professional staff. Good follow-up after the surgery. Receptive to all questions and concerns. If you have to have oral surgery I would highly recommend them as they put your mind at ease. Dr. Ellis seems to take an interest in his patients and makes himself available for any questions or concerns.

Ellis Oral Surgery was absolutely amazing. I had so much anxiety about getting 3 wisdom teeth pulled at once and the whole notion of being put to sleep. The staff along with Dr: Evans was so pleasant and kind and explained everything to me and answered all of my questions. They made me very comfortable and if I am in need of any additions oral surgery they will be the place I go.

As a CPA, I expect competence and professionalism from those I hire. And I don't "grade on a curve" in my expectations. I have found Dr. Ellis and Dr. Evans and their staff to have not only competence and professionalism but also friendliness and caring. I have used their services for my own oral surgery needs and more recently Dr. Evans served my 92-year-old mother-in-law. The care we received was exceptional and very much appreciated.
