Dr. Scott Ellis is a general dentist with training in preventive, cosmetic, laser, and implant dentistry. Originally from Provo, he has been practicing in St. George since 2012. He graduated with his Doctorate of Dental Surgery from Loma Linda University School of Dentistry (LLUSD), where he was in the top ten percent of his class for clinic production.

While obtaining his dentistry degree, Dr. Ellis helped organize and develop a portable clinic to provide free dental care to the homeless community in San Bernardino, California. He continues to find ways to serve those in need.

Before attending LLUSD, Dr. Ellis was an instructor at Utah Valley University (UVU) in the human anatomy, physiology, and histology labs. Prior to his teaching, he received the Outstanding Student of the Year Award in the Life Science Department at UVU and graduated Summa Cum Laude. He also served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Portugal.

Dr. Ellis enjoys spending time with his wife, St. George native, Katie Christensen Ellis, and their three kids. He also loves soaking up the St. George sun as he runs on the various trails through the beautiful desert terrain.

Dr. Scott Ellis Dentistry Co. is in a class of its own with its contemporary design and feels coupled with the breathtaking views. We are located on the 2nd floor of Riverfront Medical Center. This building offers ease of access, ample parking, and an on-site pharmacy. In addition to dentistry, the other highly-rated medical practices include ophthalmology, audiology, dermatology, facial plastic surgery, physical therapy, pain management, and orthopedic surgery.

Maree Shaw greets all of our patients with a bright smile as they come into our office; in fact, its hard not to catch Maree with a smile on her face. Just share a joke with her and she is sure to laugh, but she knows how to get down to business as well. She has been working in the dental field for 15 years both in the front office and as an assistant. She is our patient coordinator and works closely with our contracted dental insurance agencies.

Baylee Reidhead is a board-certified dental hygienist that has been practicing as a hygienist for 5 years and has been in the dental field for over 7 years. Oral health is her focus and she enjoys educating patients on the importance of developing good oral hygiene habits. The better we take care of our mouths, the better our overall health, she said. She loves helping patients create confident smiles.

Baylee graduated from Dixie State University with her BS in Dental Hygiene. Additionally, she is certified in local anesthesia/nitrous oxide, laser therapy as well as dental radiography. In her spare time, Baylee enjoys spending time with her boys, her pilot husband and their 2 sons, outside in the St. George sunshine. She also likes to bake up delicious cookies and treats that she shares with her coworkers!

As Dr. Ellis would say, Katie Ellis is the driving force behind Ellis Dentistry Co. The dental practice is her brainchild from the design of the office, the marketing and human resources, to the financial management. While supporting her husband in dental school, Katie worked in the public relations department for Loma Linda University Medical Center and Childrens Hospital (Loma Linda University Health) in California. It surprised her how much she enjoyed working in the healthcare industry following her years in the field of broadcast journalism. I was particularly astounded by all the technological advances in healthcare and the benefits it provided patients, she said. Having the latest in state-of-the-art dental technology was a priority for our practice.

Katie grew up in St. George and she and Dr. Ellis love raising their three children surrounded by the red rocks and the good people of this community. Katie admits that a piece of her heart will always remain in New York City. Thats where she interned at FOX News Channel and enjoyed the hustle and bustle of the Big Apple. Now shes satisfied with the occasional visit as long as it involves a broadway show and a slice of New York pizza.

Janet Melchor is bilingual in Spanish and English and brings over 14 years of dental experience to her job as office manager. She has been with Ellis Dentistry Co. from the beginning and has helped establish its policies and procedures. Her organizational and planning skills continue to help our office grow. She particularly enjoys planning treatment for our patients, I love being part of transforming patients lives by helping them obtain a new smile and new confidence.

Julie Gates has over 40 years experience as a dental assistant. She started when she was just 15 years old and immediately fell in love with helping people with their dental needs and easing their dental anxieties. Smiling is so important, she said. It is something that everyone should have the confidence to share. I love seeing the transformative power that dental work can have on a patients smile.

Julie has been married for nearly 38 years to the love of her life. They have five children and nine grandchildren. She said her grandkids are definitely the best part of raising five crazy kids. She loves spending every moment with her family especially in the outdoors. She also loves whipping up tasty treats.

While shes not at work, she loves spending time in the great outdoors with her family camping or hunting. Shes also quite the sports enthusiast and cheers on several teams including the Utah Jazz, Denver Broncos, Atlanta Braves, LA Dodgers, Utah Utes, and Georgia Bulldogs. They even have a yellow lab named Dodger in honor of the baseball team.

Kelsee Condie graduated from Dixie State University with her Bachelors Degree in Dental Hygiene. In addition to being a board-certified dental hygienist, she is licensed for local anesthesia/nitrous oxide administration, laser therapy and is radiology certified. Her interest in becoming a hygienist started by coincidence. Her twin sister signed up for a beginning dental hygiene course while at college and they shared a car. Kelsee thought she might as well sign up for the same class and quickly realized how much she loved the field. She hasnt been able to set down a scaler ever since. She said her favorite part of being a hygienist is creating a trusting relationship with her patients.

Yeva Karakashyan loves working as a dental assistant at Ellis Dentistry Co. and building relationships with the patients. She also enjoys helping patients with their dental needs and seeing them become happier and more confident with their smile. She is currently working on her bachelors degree from Dixie State University in pre-dental.

Yeva moved to Utah over 8 years ago with her family from Armenia. When shes not at work or school, she loves watching her two younger brothers play soccer. They are her very best friends. She also enjoys going on hikes with her friends during the sunset.

LaraLee Reber has been working as a dental assistant for nearly 20 years. Being part of the Ellis Dentistry Co. team is one of her favorite aspects of the job. She said, Its rewarding seeing the team dynamics at playwhen we all come together and are committed to delivering quality care and transforming the lives of our patients. When LaraLees not assisting Dr. Ellis, shes teaching proper dance technique and routines at ALight Dance Academy, a local dance studio. Dancing is a big part of her life and she loves seeing her 3 daughters develop this passion as well. While the four of them dance around in her kitchen, she loves catching glimpses of her son and husband playing catch in the backyard. She particularly loves being able to sneak in a date night with her husband of 14 years.

Update: The dentist's office called and apologized for the experience I had. They said they found the check today, Nov 9th, the check was dated Sept. 15th. The insurance originally said it had been cashed. But my insurance called today and told me it actually hadn't been cashed. I've never had to work so hard to give someone money. The customer service here is abysmal. I had a cleaning on Aug 30th and had a filling done on Sept 7th and they were mediocre at best. The dentist did something that made the filling more expensive but didn't explain what it was or why it was necessary. Before the filling I was told I would probably owe $10. Afterwards, I was told I would owe around $28 and ultimately it cost $42 after insurance. I never received a bill for the cleaning or filling. I called Ellis Dentistry on Oct 10th (over a month after both services) and asked what I owed, I was told I owed $59 for the cleaning but my insurance told me I owed $30. I was worried about being charged interest but was assured that it wouldn't be an issue. The person I talked to said they would have the insurance coordinator call me that day but I never received a call. I called my insurance and they confirmed that I only owed $30, they called the dentist with me on the line and the front desk person said they would get the insurance coordinator. The insurance rep and I sat on hold for 20 minutes but the insurance coordinator never answered. I tried again the next day, I called twice the morning of Oct 11th - no answer. I called two more times in the afternoon - no answer. I called one last time that afternoon and the insurance coordinator finally answered. She confirmed that I only owed $30 for the cleaning. She told me they hadn't received payment for the filling yet, and that I would owe around $28 for the filling. She also confirmed that I wouldn't owe interest if I waited and paid for everything together once the insurance payment was received. Three weeks went by, still no bill. I called on Oct 31st and spoke with the insurance coordinator again and she said they still hadn't received payment from the insurance. She said it could take up to 60 days to receive payment but she didn't bother to double check if the payment had actually been received. After being told twice that I wouldn't have to pay interest I received a bill on Nov 5th with interest charges and the full amount for the filling ($281). I called my insurance on Nov 7th and they told me they had sent a check on Sept 15th. Since the dentist's office didn't seem to be able to find record of the payment I took time off work to hand deliver an EOB to them. At the office, the insurance coordinator told me she couldn't zero out my account and that the office manager would have to do it the next day. I paid my portion and she printed out an account statement and wrote a note on it clarifying that insurance would take care of the balance. After she handed it to me I pointed out that it had the wrong amount on it and she admitted that she had given me someone else's account record, which seemed inappropriate. After she printed the correct statement, I ended up going back to the office twice before leaving the building to resolve other errors. After I received the zeroed out account statement the next day they thanked me for my patience while they "worked" with my insurance company, but they didn't work with my insurance company, I worked with my insurance company, and got my insurance company to call them, twice. Even though they removed the interest on the bill, the amount of time and energy wasted on this was ridiculous. Again, I've never had to work so hard to give someone money.

I've truly never had a better experience than this dental office. Dr. Ellis takes great care and has different membership options for those who don't have dental insurance and it's saved our butts lots of times. Also, one of the only offices in town to do same-day crowns! Totally blows my mind! My husband needed a crown and was in and out in an hour with only one appointment.

I had never been seen before at Ellis dentistry but a big chunk of my tooth broke off late The evening before. They got me in that very day. I was sure I would need a crown and I knew that they cost a lot. When he looked, he felt confident he could build up the corner with a filling. I didn't feel taken advantage of and they took very good care of me

Been twice. Each time they are very quick and attentive to what I need. Dr. Ellis fixed a spot on my tooth that two other dentists failed to do. Office staff are all friendly and helpful. I'd fully recommend.
