To be honest, we spend a lot of time talking about things other than dentistry, but thats part of understanding each other and me learning how to best help them.

Education and Continuing EducationI graduated from Louisiana State University with a Bachelor of Science in Petroleum Engineering in 1986. While working for an oil company, I learned I needed more interaction with people, to see immediate results and receive immediate feedback. I also needed detailed work, with a nice dose of creativity, and to build relationships with others. Dentistry is the perfect fit for all of those, and I get to improve lives every day!

I returned to school and was awarded my Doctorate of Dental Surgery (DDS) by the Louisiana State University School of Dentistry in 1998. It was the best decision I could have made. Since graduation, Ive completed many hours of continuing education (CE), expanding my skills and knowledge.

I regularly attend meetings and conferences, am a member of two local study clubs, and stay current through journals and other publications. Ive studied dental implants, including placement and restoration, as well as CEREC same-day tooth replacement.

Dentistry is one of the most rapidly changing fields and we proudly invest a lot of time in staying current. The ongoing improvements in techniques, materials, and equipment means its imperative we are on top of things. Our pursuit of CE allows us to provide the best, most up-to-date treatment and deliver the most incredible results.

Our son, Justin, is graduated dental school at LSU has joined a successful dental practice in Nashville, TN. His wife, Jenna is also working in the dental field. Our daughter, Paige, is at LSU and majoring in digital art. Our final family member, our dog Gumbeaux, doesnt know hes not a person, so please dont tell him!

When not caring for patients, I enjoy bass fishing, bow hunting for deer, and traveling. As a family, were very involved in our church. Sharyn and I teach Sunday morning Bible Study for 11th and 12th graders and serve on various committees. I also participate in mission trips with the church, most recently to the country of Georgia, in eastern Europe.

Involvement in local programs allows me to give back to this community that has given so much to my family and me. I volunteer my time providing free dentistry through the Healing Hands ministry of Healing Place Church in Baton Rouge. I also offer free dental care through the Louisiana Mission of Mercy with the Louisiana Dental Association. Additionally, Im an active member and past-president of a Christian bass fishing club.

Born and raised in Prairieville, Andi joined our practice in 2013, after working in the dental field since 2005. She is EDDA, ACLS, X-Ray, and CPR certified. As our office manager, Andi schedules visits, helps patients get the most from their insurance benefits, and finds financial terms that work with their budget. Andi loves how the Ellis Dental Care team treats patients like close friends and how Dr. Ellis and her coworkers are attentive to each persons needs. Shes especially happy to work in her home community, ensuring every patient has positive, supportive experiences in our office.

Kalli is a graduate of LSU. She received her Bachelors degree in Biological Sciences in 2008. She is also a graduate of the LSU School of Dentistrys dental hygiene program and received her Bachelor of Science degree in 2011. While attending LSUs dental hygiene program, she received official certification of local anesthesia and nitrous oxide administration. Kalli is passionate about preventive dentistry and enjoys educating each patient in order to improve overall oral health. In her spare time, Kalli loves spending time with her husband and two children. She also enjoys watching and cheering for the LSU Tigers.

Carly was also born and raised in Prairieville! She graduated from Dutchtown High School. Carly is EDDA, X-ray and CPR certified with 3 years of experience. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her 5 year old son, Chase, and watching him play baseball. Carly also enjoys ISU football and baseball, as well as vacations to Disney World and the beach!
