Dr. Seth Atkins is a Texan, born and raised. He attended Texas Tech University where his undergraduate studies focused on Biology and Biochemistry. He then was accepted to the prestigious University of Texas Health Science Center San Antonio where he graduated near the top of his class and won numerous awards. Dr. Atkins spent five years in private practice before finding home in Waxahachie. Dr. Atkins met his beautiful wife Erica while they were students at Texas Tech. They married during dental school and have been blessed with two wonderful children Caden and Harper Grace.
Dr. Seth Atkins stays on the cutting edge of his profession, having averaged over one hundred hours of continuing education every year. He has earned fellowships to both the International Congress of Oral Implantologists and the Academy of General Dentistry. He is also a member in good standing of:
He is a graduate of the rigorous Implant Preceptorship held at the University of Texas Health Science Center and continues to attend the Spear Institute and is an active member of their local study club. By attending continuing education classes, as well as conventions and meetings, he brings the latest technologies, practices, products, and knowledge to his practice.
Born and raised in Palmer, Texas, Dr. Colby Cottongame graduated from Palmer High School as valedictorian of the class of 2010. Baseball was a constant in Dr. Cottongames life and took him from PHS to Navarro College in Corsicana where he played for the 2011 and 2012 seasons, winning the 2011 NJCAA World Series Championship in Grand Junction Colorado and playing in the 2011 TX-NM Junior College All-Star Game. Following his playing career, he graduated from Stephen F. Austin State University in 2014 with a degree in Biology. After college, Dr. Cottongame was accepted to dental school at the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio where he received the 2018 Clinical Excellence Award for his work in the pre-doctoral clinics.
When not practicing dentistry you can find Dr. Cottongame sitting in a deer stand, taking in as many baseball games as he can or on a golf course often looking for a stray tee shot. I was very happy with the service and attention to detail with 2 issues. One fitted with temporary cap & Doctor was easy to communicate. Have to have 1 wisdom extracted due to decay & cracking in 3 weeks. Had wisdom removed & permanent cap installed Sept 19th. Went well with complete explanation before & during work. Was completely happy with Dr Atkins & staff. Nov3, back for cleaning with Haley! Best I've had in my 60 years seeking a dental hygienist!

My visit to Ellis County Dentistry was a real enjoyable experience from first contact with receptionist Jenny who set the tone with her cheerful friendly personality then next my hygienist Jana who made me very comfortable with her professionalism and friendliness added with her sense of humor , she was great !!! Not to leave anyone out , Dr Cottongame saw me before I left to inspect Jana's work which he said was excellent and I completely agree 100% . Final person to meet on my way out was office manager Angela who was super friendly and helpful , which left me with a smile on my face , overall my visit was a 5 star experience and makes me look forward to my next visit , good job team !!!

This is the best dental team I have experienced in 40+ years. They are kind and friendly, but even more, up to date on the latest technology to make dentistry more effective and simpler for the client. The hygienists and dentists as well the front office staff are all class A" people! I highly recommend them to anyone who wants healthy teach without the pain!
