A West Virginian by birth (1950 Beckley, WV), Dr. David Eller has resided here for most of his life. After graduating from Barboursville High School in 1968, he attended Marshall University from 1968 to 1972 and WVU School of Dentistry from 1972-1976. Upon graduation, he was hired by Dr. J.R. Hannan as an associate. A year into the associateship, Dr. Hannan offered a partnership and Drs. Hannan & Eller Inc. was formed. The two practiced together until Dr. Hannans retirement. After several years of practicing solo, Dr. Eller found a fine young dental school graduate to become his associate. Dr. Reginald Opimo and Dr. Eller have practiced together since 2001 and eventually formed David M. Eller & Dr. Reginald S. Opimo, D.D.S., Inc.
Dr. Eller believes that his patients deserve the best in technology and facilities. He continues to educate himself at post-graduate courses yearly. He feels that his high-tech office and equipment, along with continual staff training, provide patients with the best treatment available.
Dr. Eller is proud to be a member of the American Dental Association, where he served for the last five years as one of the Delegates for its House. He is a 38-year member of the WV Dental Association and is a past president of the Huntington Dental Society (1984 and 2001). Volunteering for the Ebenezer Outreach Dental Clinic and projects such as Donated Dental Services and Mission of Mercy has kept him busy in the community.
In October 2009, Dr. Eller was inducted to the International College of Dentists. Dr. Ellers family includes wife Renee, daughters Sarah, Laurin, Kristin, and Erin, sons Jacob and Zackary, and seven wonderful grandchildren of whom he is very proud. Among his hobbies are golf, hunting, and fishing. He likes to treat his patients as if they were his family and many have become like family in his 38 years of practice.
Dr. Reginald Opimo is a lifelong member of the Barboursville, Huntington community. He was born in Huntington and is a graduate of Barboursville High School Class of 1992. Dr. Opimo continued his education at the University of Kentucky and received his Bachelor of Science in biology in 1996. Following his undergraduate studies, Dr. Opimo pursued and achieved a Doctorate in Dental Surgery (D.D.S.) from the West Virginia University in 2001. Shortly after his graduation, he was hired into the practice of Dr. David M. Eller as an associate and eventually formed David M. Eller & Dr. Reginald S. Opimo, D.D.S., Inc.
Dr. Opimo continues with his dental education by attending continuing education classes and lectures to keep up to date on the newest technology and trends in dentistry to better serve his patients. He has advanced training in esthetic dentistry and is certified in the use of CEREC crown fabrication, Lumineers placement, and Invisalign, as well as whitening and laser procedures.
Dr. Opimo enjoys getting to know his patients and also helping them better understand any fears, concerns, or desires he or she may have. He understands all patients have different needs and will develop a plan with alternative treatment options that will work best for each patient.
In addition to Dr. Opimos regular patients, he is very passionate in helping those who need the help the most. He served multiple years as chairman of the Give Kids A Smile program, a program to offer free dental services to school-age children, ever since its inception. Dr. Opimo also has volunteered his time to help patients of Ebenezer Medical Outreach to be able to obtain dental treatment that they may not have been able to receive. Furthermore, he has volunteered his abilities to the Donated Dental Services (DDS) Program, a humanitarian service for disabled, elderly, and medically compromised people. Dr. Opimo continues to search for new ways to help his community and makes it a priority as he builds his abilities and business.
We are very excited to introduce Dr. Caitland M. Adkins DDS to our team here at David M. Eller & Reginald S. Opimo DDS, Inc. Dr. Adkins hails from Richwood WV and grew up in a dental family. Her father, Dr. Lloyd Adkins DDS, has practiced dentistry for many years and her Mom, Carolyn Adkins, is the office manager. Dr. Adkins graduated Cum Laude from Fairmont University with a BS in Biology. She continued her education at West Virginia University Dental School, graduating with a Doctorate of Dental Surgery. Since then, she has practiced dentistry with her father in Richwood until moving to Huntington to be closer to her sister, niece, and nephew. Dr. Adkins is board certified in General Dentistry and is an active member of both the American Dental Association and the Academy of General Dentistry. She is primarily interested in Family and Cosmetic Dentistry, but also really enjoys working with children. When she isnt practicing dentistry, she loves spending time with her family, attending concerts, and travelling. We couldnt be happier that she has decided to join our practice!

I loved this place the dentist saved my front teeth from being pulled and making sure you were comfortable and ok he cares about his patience I highly recommend this place his helpers were awesome to making sure you were comfortable and ok as well

Was in the dental chair on time and staff immediately began working on me . Dr. Opimo met with me and explained exactly what he was going to do to remove and replace a 40 year old permanent bridge . The experience was totally painless and I left with a temporary bridge until the permanent new one is made. This office is up to date with all advanced equipment to quickly and properly do dental work . The staff treats you like family.

I transferred to this office with Dr. Bogers, who has since retired. I can't say enough great things about the office, doctors, and staff. I had the privilege of seeing Dr. Adkins and her hygienist Jennifer today and I had a wonderful experience. Everyone is very professional, friendly, and prompt. I was very surprised at how smoothly The office ran even with very detailed COVID precautions. I highly recommend Dr. Adkins and this office to anyone looking for a dentist in the Huntington area. Update (4/1/22): Dr. Adkins filled a cavity for me today and the entire experience was perfect. She's friendly, professional, and very skilled.

OUTSTANDING PATIENT CARE!!! From the moment you enter the door to the time you leave the office, the staff makes you feel so welcomed. Everyone there greets you with a smile and a hello, they engage into conversations with you that make you feel like you've known them for years and they produce results that leave you smiling for days. A Big Kudos to Dr. Adkins and her dental assistants for making me feel at ease by allowing me to listen to comforting music of my own and talking me through two tooth extractions.

I was going to Dr. Opimo for a while and he replaced some crowns for me. Did a great job, staff was great, PRE COVID. I called to schedule an appt because a large part of a filling came out, I'm in pain and can't eat on that side. They were always great about getting me in if there was an issue. The woman I spoke with didn't seem like she knew what she was doing when trying to schedule. I need my tooth fixed before I get a cleaning, she wanted to schedule a cleaning and fix my tooth about 3 weeks from now. Then when I actually tried to schedule, she scheduled it under a different person because she didn't get all my info. I'm in pain and can't wait. I'll have to find a new dentist.

They've always been good to me. Worked around my schedule and never had an issue. When I broke a filling the day before I lost insurance they got me in the same day to put a crown in! Very thankful!

Gentle dental care sounds too good to be true - and that's exactly what you get at Eller and Opimo and Associates. These folks are the pros! State-of-the-art dental care in a state-of-the-art office!
