She started her academic career at University of California, Irvine, where she received her Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences. She pursued her Master of Science in Biomedical Sciences and later graduated from Nova Southeastern University, College of Dental Medicine in South Florida. To be closer to family, she made her way back home to complete a one-year AEGD residency at the University of the Pacific. She was able to expand her knowledge and improve her skills in all aspects of general dentistry.
Dr. Jackie is a member of the Sacramento District Dental Society, California Dental Association and American Dental Association. She hopes to become more active in the dental community, and appreciates all levels of mentoring from her colleagues.
Dr. Jackie lives a balanced life. She enjoys being a dentist, but also daydreams of traveling the world every chance she gets. She enjoys cooking new healthy recipes, and tries new restaurants often. The gym is also a must! Her workouts include cardio weight training, kickboxing, and running. She loves to meet new people and will rarely say no to an adventure, big or small.Dr. Jackie is excited to meet you!
Dr. Guess earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from UCSF. He was offered a post-doctoral orthodontic residency position at the Ohio State of University. During his tenure at the Ohio State of University he was awarded two Master's Degrees. He earned a Master of Science in Dentistry and Master of Arts in Educational Administration and also was awarded his certificate in Orthodontics.
Dr. Guess has done extensive research in the field of Dentistry and specialty of Orthodontics. His research findings have been published in several journals such as Dentistry Today, Journal of Dental Research, Orthodontics Review, Journal of Clinical Orthodontics, the Japanese Journal of Clinical Orthodontics, and Journal of Prosthetic Dentistry.
Dr. Guess is an active member of the American Dental Association, American Association of Orthodontics, Academy of General Dentists, Pacific Society of Orthodontists, California State Society of Orthodontists, California Dental Association, and Sacramento District Dental Society. He has taught continuing education courses at University of California, Los Angeles and San Francisco. He has lectured at Harvard University and to the California Dental Association. He has also lectured in Beijing and Shanghai, China and done volunteer dentistry in Israel for children.
Dr. Shannon Chris Ram was born in the Fiji Islands. She was raised there and immigrated to the States in 2007. She had once stated at age 5 that she wanted to be a tooth doctor when she grew up and she is today. Dr. Shannon first stepped into the field as a Register dental assistant and worked simultaneously in the position while attending college.
She studied at California State University, Sacramento and has received her Bachelor of Science in Biomedical sciences. She graduated from University of Southern California, Herman Ostrow School of Dentistry where she received her Doctor of Dental surgery. She returned to Sacramento to be with her family. She is currently pursuing her masters of advance general dental practice at the University of Birmingham, UK.
Dr. Shannon is a member of the Sacramento district Dental Society, California Dental Association and American Dental Association. Her goal is to be able to provide dental care in remote parts of the world.
Dr. Shannon is married and has 2 adopted daughters. She enjoys being a dentist, but also loves spending time with her husband and kids. Her weekends and evenings are spent mostly doing fun family activities with them. Dr. Shannon also loves reading, singing, dancing and arts and crafts especially wood crafts, beading, sewing and embroidery.
I have been with Elk Grove Kids Dentist and Orthodontics since 2018. I started working in dentistry since 2001 and obtained my RDA license in 2002. I enjoy the team I work with and feel lucky to be able to build relationships with patients that are also members of my own community. As the office manager, I enjoy helping our patients understand their dental needs. I always try to make each patient and parents feel comfortable and at home while they are in our office.
When Im not working, I enjoy many outdoor activities like hiking and horseback riding with my husband and two teenagers. I am looking forward to meet future patients and answering questions regarding our office so we can obtain the smile you deserve.
I was born and raised in Mexico City. I have been working with Elk Grove Kids Dentist and Orthodontics since 2017. I am passionate about knowing the patients and making sure they get the best service. I like the upbeat and fun atmosphere of our office. I like to work closely with staff to provide the ultimate care our patients deserve. By speaking Spanish, I am able to communicate with Spanish speaking patients. I look forward to meeting new patients as well as continuing a great relationship with our current patients.
As one of the Registered Dental Assistants at Elk Grove Kids Dentist & Orthodontics, I strive to educate my patients and their families about the importance of taking care of their teeth. Besides working hard, I enjoy keeping the team and patients laughing and in a positive and happy mood. Since I've been in the dental field for almost 10 years, I've learned that making people smile is a highlight of my job and it's also one of the most important.
I am a dental assistant working towards becoming a Registered Dental assistant. I like making our patients feel welcome and helping with their anxiety especially if its their first time coming in. I like getting to meet the patients and their family. Not only can I assist, I can also help translate to our Spanish speaking patients.
