Dr. Staves passion is pediatric dentistry, she has practiced in St. Petersburg for 20 years. She earned her Bachelors degree from Bryn Mawr College and her dental degree from the University of Maryland School of Dental Surgery. She completed her specialty training residency in Pediatric Dentistry at the University of Connecticut School of Dental Medicine and is board certified. Dr. Staves is also a Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry.
Dr. Staves is a member and attends meetings with the American Dental Association, American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, the Florida Dental Association and Florida Academy of Pediatric Dentistry. Dr. Staves is an attending and a consultant for All Childrens Hospital Cleft Palate and Craniofacial Team. She has been a speaker at the Suncoast Pediatric Conference and the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistrys Annual Session.
We love our patients, their families and our team and offering the very best in Pediatric Dental care. Dr. Staves gives back to the community by participating with Habitat for Humanity, and the ASPCA. In her leisure time, she enjoys time with her family and 2 puppies: hiking, cycling, kayaking, and traveling.
I have been in pediatric dentistry since 2000. I have always enjoyed working with children and watching them grow from youngsters to young adults. I have worked chairside with the patients, as well as all aspects of the front desk. I love our office and team here because it is important to make every visit to the office as fun as possible, and we do our best together to achieve this. I am the mother of 4 children, 2 dogs and a pet pig. When not at work I can be found on the waterways, either by boat or kayak!
I have been in dentistry since 2001 and feel passionate about pediatric dentistry. After working for the public health dept and private offices, what I enjoy most is outreach in our community and being able to make a difference with the families that need us most. In my spare time, I love to travel and take on new adventures. I love working with Dr. Staves and watching our patients grow.
I have worked in the dental field since 2008, and spent most of my time in Pediatrics. I love working with children. I find it rewarding to hear them say they LOVE OUR OFFICE and are excited to come back for their next visit. I enjoy being the dental health educator, going to schools to teach kids how to care for their teeth. I am the mother of two amazing children and enjoy the warm weather in Florida at the beach or pool.
I have worked as a dental assistant since 1995. Because of my love of kids, I have primarily worked in pediatrics and orthodontics. I enjoy being with my work family at Dr. Staves office. It is always a joy to watch the kids grow and change and see their smiling faces. I am a mother of two beautiful daughters and a yellow lab. As a family, we enjoy the beach and relaxing.

I am beyond impressed with Dr Staves and her staff! Everyone is always friendly, kind and helpful to answer any questions. Ashley is the sweetest and always puts my son at ease. Dr Staves is very knowledgeable and is a great listener to any concerns I may have. She always explains the treatment plan and makes sure you are comfortable with their recommendations. She is an honest pediatric dentist and I would know because my dad is a retired dentist. I would highly recommend this practice to anyone!!!

Im a former Patient, and when i would visit routinely they would tell my mother that i would need procedures done that i did not actually need done. Please do not trust these people with your children, every time i would go to the dentist i would dread it... now my new dentist doesn't lie and makes me feel comfortable.

I took my 2.5 year old to Dr Staves and had a wonderful experience. The staff was all very friendly and worked well with my toddler. We also were given lots of valuable information of how to continue to keep his teeth in great shape! Would highly recommend to anyone.

I've been dreading taking my 4 yo to the dentist but this was an extremely positive experience with very kind staff and dentist who took the time to explain everything and at no time did we feel rushed or pressured. It's wonderful to have in the community!

Amazing experience for first time with my 3yo. Everyone we came in contact with was amazing. Seemed like they loved their job. I recommend this place 1000%. There was no wait at all. Ashley was very informative. The doctor was also amazing.

I cannot imagine a better pediatric dentist/office exists in St Pete! From the moment you walk in the door you are greeted by friendly staff and technicians to fun decor everywhere you look. The staff are so kind, take their time and make you feel like family from beginning to end of your appointment. Our two year old was entertained with coloring boards, a cute rubber duck, Disney movies and more. Even our older girls get excited about Dr. Staves office. Dr. Staves is extremely friendly, explains everything you need to know and keeps the experience positive for everyone. I love bringing my family here and cannot recommend this office and Dr. Staves more!

My son had his first visit with Dr. Staves and her staff. I truly wish every child (and parent) could experience the warm welcome and top notch service they provide. I'll admit, I think I was more nervous than my 2 year old, but the nerves quickly diminished when I saw how gentle and kind everyone was. I'm so happy to have found them, and we look forward to the next visit.

Had our first experience with Dr.Staves and staff with my 2.5 and 4 year old. I accompanied them to the cleaning and felt well informed by the time I was leaving. The facility is clean, staff was very pleasant and I would refer friends to this practice. Their Covid practices with temp checks met my expectations for safety. We will return.

Very close to getting up and walking out the visit. I feel Dr. Staves approach was harsh and abrasive during the consultation. I feel she lacked any empathy whatsoever. Just looking to get my daughter on track with all her dental needs. It has been difficult finding a pediatric dental establishment that helps kids who fear the dentist especially since covid. This is the first review I have ever written in my life but I felt it was necessary.

I absolutely love love love this dentist! They've cleaned my son's teeth for years. Now, both my daughter's go here too. I had a traumatic event with my youngest knocking out her tooth, and Dr. Staves helped me after hours, checked on me the next day and was absolutely amazing! So happy here and would definitely recommend to others!

My kids have been going to Dr. Staves for 10 years now (13 and 6 years olds). Not only is Dr. Staves professional and knowledgable, she is also friendly and genuinely cares about her patients. I like her conservative approach to treatment. Her entire staff is also very nice and welcoming.

Dr. Staves and her team are amazing. They are knowledgeable and help educate parents and young patients and are also incredibly patient. My son wasn't cooperative his first few visits, but they were so understanding and kind in helping him calm down and get his exam. Love this team!
